Appearance
Lichen is a strange creature. When she firsts hatch she will be no bigger than a scrawny little lizard with wings so small they won't even be able to lift herself off the ground. Her gemstone is located behind her eyes; connected through the skull and permanently blinds her. She can see, however, using the long feelers coming out from her nose and with the use of magic. Her scales are very dark - almost pitch black. She would be relatively hard to spot if it weren't for the strange markings adorning her body - all of them a pale green and glow very gently. Her claws, forked tongue, feelers, wing membrane and the ridges on her face also glow very gently. The markings are mostly stripes on her feet, tail, belly and throat. A feathery crest adorns the crown of her head, inky black feathers expanding out gradually into a brilliant gleam that, unlike the rest of her body, does not actually grow. The feathers lift and rise depending on her mood - though relying on her crest alone will make it hard to realise how she's actually feeling. She will grow to be over 12'7ft long from nose-to-tail, and about 4'5ft tall at the shoulder with a 20ft wingspan, big enough to keep her safely lifted off the ground. A closer inspection of her teeth will show not only sharp canines but also molars. When she is an adult, several fluorescent mushrooms will be growing out of her back. They shimmer green, almost exactly the same colour as the glowing marks that adorn her body. Personality
Despite being blind, Lichen seems to have a raw sense for adventure that is usually quite evident in children. In fact - being blind doesn't seem to hold her down at all - she acts like every other kid (safe for bumping into a wall or two in a moment of carelessness) but she seems to have a habit of annoying people. Doesn't matter who the person is or who they think they are - even someone of pure royal blood is at risk of being part of some sort of sick prank - if it be rocks to the face or childish slander. There is, however, a part of her that might be much more caring and fragile - or at least it seems to be, Lichen is a horribly obsessive creature; or at the very least, being the walking (and flying) definition of a control freak - often trying to take over what her friends are doing. She is easily hurt by the rejection that may come from trying to take over in situations - leading to her emotionally breaking down. She is a rather friendly creature, however - often helpful where it counts. This is a trait that will seemingly never leave her - continuing well into adulthood. She is lightly-humoured and doesn't tend to judge based off of looks. Probably because she can't actually see who she's talking to. History
