Appearance

When Max is a puppy, it will be easy to forgive him for his... less than stellar intelligence. He will be a light butter in color, with incredibly soft fur. His eyes are rather large, blackish in color. They are always glistening with happiness. He has ears that are a few shades darker than the rest of him, and hang down fairly heavily, much longer than the rest of his head. His paws will be overly large, showing that he will, hopefully, grow into them one day. A smile is almost constantly on his lips, tongue lolling out to taste the air.

As an older Gembound, he will still be rather cute. His face will remain incredibly dopey, although his eyes are now a warm brown in color. When looked at, one gets the feeling that not much is going on behind them. A grin is seldom not on his face, with his massive tongue hanging out. And, even when his mouth is closed, his tongue is usually out. His fur will darken to a more orange-ish color, although his ears remain darker than the rest of him, and don't seem so overly large. Feathering gives him a rather fluffy appearance, especially on his chest, forelegs, and stomach. His tail is broad and strong, whipping around without much care to the damage it might do. He stands two feet at the shoulder, although from the way he slouches one would never be able to tell. He is seemingly always in motion, whether its his tail wagging, or the rest of him chasing it. His gem sits square between his eyes, and it isn't uncommon to see him go cross-eyed as he attempts to see it.

Personality

Max is... well, he's very lucky he's cute.

He is very much a stereotypical 'Golden Retriever'. Sweet as candy, but dumb as a box of rocks. Many things soar high, high above his head, but it doesn't bother him much. Calling him names? Oh boy, you're talking to him! Being mean to someone else? Why, let's have fun! And he would do anything to try and make you happy. Feeling down? Well, oh boy! There's a pretty shiny glowy gem way over there, and he'll go get it for you! Even if it takes him hours, he will jump and jump and jump and jump until, somehow, he can get the pretty glowey thing. He'll run away in the middle of a conversation, seeing a butterfly or Cave Rat or a beam of light that no one else notices and he is determined to bring to them.

Max doesn't have much of an attention span. Trying to talk to him about something really important? He'll listen until - RAT! SHINY THING! Oh, WHAT'S THAT NOISE?! And serious is not a word in his vocabulary. When serious things happen, he tries to make everyone happy. Why not, after all? What's the point in being sad or mad or upset?

And everyone is his friend. Even Gembounds who don't like him are just friends that haven't realized yet. He has just met you, and he loves you. He loves Gembounds, and rocks, and shiny things, and flowers, and, and, and. One would be very hard pressed to find something he doesn't like, actually.
