He had heard about a way to gain coins, and while he had no real idea what coins were or what they were used for, they were shiny and cool and he wanted them, if only just to hoard them for himself. Maybe they could be used in the future, but who knows?

Right now though, he was looking for something in particular and sure enough, he spots a group of Fairyflies, a large smile crossing his face. Without really thinking too hard about it, he pounced at them, trying to grab some of them out of the sky. However, he seemed to miss them all, his front paws landing in front of him as he huffed softly to himself, watching them fly around him.

He huffed softly as he watched them, a new determination crossing his features. He would get these little thing, even if it took him all day. He waited for a moment before suddenly pushing himself upwards on his back legs, pawing at the group of them.

He smiled warmly as he caught a few of them in his grip, smacking them to the ground. Yay! He did it! There were still more, and he wanted them, but he wasn't sure how to do it. For a moment, he sat there, a small pile of them at his feet. He hadn't yet counted them to see how many he had, but he wanted more, wanting as many as he could get. That would get him more shinys... right?

He was too excited to stop right now, feeling so much adrenaline and excitement from the win he had already got. He could do this, he knew he could.

Without much of a thought in between those wide eyes of his, he lunged upwards again, bouncing on his back paws as he slapped at the air, only to come up empty once more. He was getting frustrated and huffed for a moment, eyes narrowing as he glared at the creatures, almost as if his look alone could make them land at his feet.

He would try one more time, but he wanted to get them so, so badly.

This was his last attempt, lunging forward, twisting his body as he pawed at the air. At this point, it felt like the little creatures were flying around him with purpose, laughing at him, and it was making him mad. He landed on his butt as he grumbled softly. This was stupid!

But no, he wanted it, so badly, that he was determined to continue.

Gritting his teeth, he took a moment to regain his composure, having patience would be what helped him. He sat there waiting for a moment before lunging at one that landed on the ground, smacking it with his paw.

Yes! That was two, he could do this, he knew he could.

Once again though, as soon as he caught one, he got overly excited again, jumping up haphazardly and pawing at the air, only to catch nothing once more. He huffed as he sat there, grumbling to himself.

As he flicked his gaze at the pile of only two, he decided to take a moment to catch his breath, figuring that he could continue in a few minutes. He was started to get tired, but he didn't want to leave them, since the small swarm was still dancing around his head above him. He would teach them.... eventually.

It was just one failure after another, and it was starting to get to him, making him sigh and believe that he wouldn't actually be able to do this. How could he? He had failed so much and now he was starting to feel like he looked stupid.

So, he took a chance to walk away, heading down to the water's edge to lap at the liquid, letting it cool him down and relax him. A few deep breaths to regain his composure, to remind himself that he could do this, all he needed to do was just relax.

Okay, he could do this, just a few more and he would be satisfied. After finishing his time to rest and drink up, he would take a deep breath and nod to himself. The swarm had only moved a few feet away, flying around the base of a tree. With a large pounce, he hit one against the bark, pinning it between his paws.

He did it! He was so excited, picking it up gently and adding it to the small pile he had made. Perfect, now if he could just get one more... he would be happy.

But of course, that wasn't in the cards for him today.

That one more turned into such a failure that he found himself on the verge of tears. He had pounce upwards to snap at one of the bugs, only to flail around in the air for a moment but unfortunately he wasn't a cat, no matter how furry and feline like he was.

He landed on his side harshly on the ground, crying out as he did so, knocking the wind out from his chest. That was enough, he couldn't take it anymore.

And so, with a small sniffle, he sat there for a moment and sniffed, trying to not cry.

Okay, maybe he needed to think about this a different way. Yes, that would work.

Wiping his tears away, he would lift himself up and as he jumped, would use his magic. However suddenly, for the first time ever, his ability backfired and send his legs into a tailspin, making him fall face first into the ground.

He cried out, sitting up to paw at his hurt nose, whimpering and sniffling slightly. Why was this so hard?!
