Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - One - Apr 08 2020 Curled up tight in a crystalline cocoon, the young banded palm civet slept peacefully. That is, until it twitched in it's sleep and thumped it's head against the crystal, waking it up. This head-bash against the crystal was enough to break through it, and before it was even aware of what was happening, the little civet was now sitting in a pile of green crystal chunks. He looked up in awe of the fake-star ceiling of Orion. He stood up on unsteady legs, still staring up at the pretty ceiling, unaware of his surroundings. "Spoken Words." RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 08 2020 As many tasks as it'd been assigned and given a deadline for, the orthoclase didn't hurry anywhere. Maybe that was a lesson it'd taken from its ruby-hatchmate, but a bit more effectively than just lazing around doing literally nothing. At this pace, it could just meander into a room and give it a quick scan before picking some direction to go in and investigate or whatever else it needed to do. Sometimes it'd cast its magic out and set to fight a dragon. Sometimes it'd cast its magic out and set to find the tiniest of creatures. So - here it was, finding this newly emerged ball of fuzz with pinpoint accuracy. Alpha almost immediately lurched down to snatch the civet from his chrysalis's remains, but it hesitated briefly, remembering that bat's struggle. Small talk first, it chirped, @Vivianite RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - One - Apr 08 2020 It's view of the pretty things on the ceiling was obscured by the shadow of a large, hulking thing. Not knowing it should be afraid- or at least cautious- of creatures such as this, it just tilts it's head as the creature begins to talk. "Lit-tol?" It replies, standing up to get a better view of the creature that quite literally towers over it. It toddles over- still unused to walking- and gently bats one of the creature's gigantic paws with it's tiny one. "You are Lit-tol?" It asks, staring up at Alpha innocently. "Spoken Words." RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 08 2020 Alpha squinted down, head tilting upside down slightly to track the civet. He took a few cautious steps forwards, parroting. Then, incorrectly, he assumed it was also little. The orthoclase shook its head, grunting shortly, Mistakenly, it didn't think ahead about how to break out the subject of hey kid, wanna come with me? @Vivianite RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - One - Apr 08 2020 "Big!" He chirped happily. When Alpha displayed it's sharp claws and teeth, he watched carefully. "Hunter!" He chirped. He displayed his tiny needle-like teeth in a big grin, and batted at the air wildly to showcase his equally tiny claws. "Chase!" He grinned, seemingly missing the part where Alpha implied he was food. "Chase!" He ran in circles. It was unclear to everyone, including him, what exactly he was going to chase, but by god he was going to chase the heck out of it! "Spoken Words." RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 08 2020 The orthoclase started to step towards Tunnel K, glancing over its shoulder to see if he was following. @Vivianite RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - One - Apr 08 2020 He paused in his seemingly senseless chase long enough to notice Alpha was walking away. Now having a target to chase, he scampered forward. "Chase!" He squeaked when he caught up to Alpha, grinning excitedly. Small sparks of electricity jumped off the civet's fur, too weak to do any harm, especially to something as big as Alpha. Still, he seemed quite excited to see the spell had worked. "Zap! Zap!" He chirped happily. When Alpha spoke, he calmed down slightly as he listened. "Lit-tol hunter!" He agreed, seemingly happy to be called a hunter, even if it was just a little one. "Chase knowledge?" He asked, confused but curious. "Spoken Words." Thoughts tags: @Orthoclase-Alpha notes: --- coding by wulf for template purposes
RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - Orthoclase-Alpha - Apr 08 2020 With... extremely little room for argument, Alpha stated, @Vivianite RE: Curiosity killed the... civet [Hatching] - One - Apr 09 2020 At Alpha's growl, he froze completely, the sparks quickly dying down. He lowered his head apologetically, staring at the ground. When Alpha became to continue walking, he quickly scampered over to keep up. Despite Alpha's slow speed, he still had to walk pretty fast to keep up with the giant. "Doctor chase knowledge?" He asked, trying to keep up the best he could- which was asking for quite a bit, considering the little civet had just hatched. "Little Hunter!" He replied excitedly. This was something he knew- He was the little hunter! That was him! The little civet had no desire to argue with Alpha, instead he squeaked excitedly, "Chase knowledge!" Running a bit of a ways ahead- but immediately stopping, since he didn't actually know where to go. He stared up at Alpha with a childish grin while he waited to be led to the 'Doctor.' "Spoken Words." Thoughts tags: @Orthoclase-Alpha notes: --- coding by wulf for template purposes
