[WRESTLING] Adderstrike vs. Kalama - Kalama - Jul 20 2020
She'd give the gembound watching a good show. They all knew she was a Champion. Thats what they were here for, of course. To watch the Champion of Hydra ascend through the ranks, defeating opponents who dared face her. Who thought they ever had a chance to face her. She scraped the dirt beneath her talons, raptor claws clicking. Her wings snapped open, and she fluttered the tips. Her tail high above her, like a banner.

Vargas was, indeed, there to watch someone beat up someone else.
Who would win remained to be seen, but he paced around the edges of the forum to his old accustomed seat: a stone bench near the far lip of the forum's arena. ...It had worn, since last he'd used it.
"This place was used for battles: to prove the strong. None of you would have lasted a minute with the ancient Champions, but I look forward to seeing which of you are worth keeping," he called out, with dark amusement in his voice.
Memories of alien bodies, of spikes and blood and bodies flung across the arena's dirt, lingered; the old adrenaline of spectator's excitement flickered up.
He'd had the door to Tunnel P sealed off again, just for this--he could not risk his work. A few of the Sentinels had been left behind to keep watch on the project. But a break to clear his mind for a few hours would only benefit; and anyway, having a look over the nest's creatures and progress was part of his chosen tasks.
This would be fun to watch.

Well, that worked then.
The chicken she was going to fight seemed kind of scary, a lot taller than her, although the weight she'd picked up over her cycles left her a great bit wider.
Oh lawd, she comin'.
She trotted down from the stands with a lazy yawn, having been loafing until she heard her name, paying some lazy attention to Vargis' words, beginning to trot and then to run, intending on using her momentum to slam into the cockerel.

Kalama snorted at Vargas. She hadn't noticed their arrival, but she hoped he'd be impressed by how cool she was. And being a compulsive braggart, she immediately rebuked Vargas' words.
The...thick cat trundled down the steps. She was almost intimidated by how large it was. How powerful would a creature like that be? Not only that, but they seemed rather relaxed about the whole thing. Yawning and trotting down the steps lackadaisical. This was who she was to fight? Rage sparked within her. They were mocking her! Their silence, their stupid relaxed cat face. How dare they!
Adderstrike's trot turned into a charge. Caught off guard, and with no idea what else to do, Kalama lowered her head. She gripped the dirt with her wicked talons and wing claws, preparing to launch herself into a headbutt.

it ain't cheating and learning your enemies's weaknesses if you're spectating and waiting for your turn.
Toxic eyes stared down into the arena, watching and noting idly that it'd seen that chicken before. Absolutely nothing had changed with her: she was still just as loud and showy and overcompensating as before but... perhaps matched with something of equal size, she could show her true potential.
By... going for a full-body headbutt.
Alpha shifted in place, watching intently for the impact. Who would give first?

he had never watched something like this before, or if he had, he didnt remember. still, it was quite entertaining to watch a cat barrel into a rooster. he looked to the faintest resemblance of a rooster on his head, chuckling, wondering what it would be like if he was fully one, or really any other animal he was a melting pot of.

Finally! The crowds had dispersed a bit-- not everyone wanted to watch every single wrestling contest, and that was fair. People needed breaks between fights and all that. Hunter himself had stepped away to get some fruit to hydrate with before his match, which would be next. He hadn't seen who his opponent would be, but he did recognize a familiar face.
A big, big ol' beastie. Vivi's friend! The one he had threatened the single time he met him before. He made sure to keep his spear very obviously on his back and not in his hands as he approached cautiously, mangos tucked in his arms.
"Hey," Hunter called softly as he settled down on a rock to watch the fight (which had already begun! He had almost missed the fun!), and took a big, juicy bite of one of his mangos. "Veh--, vey--," Swallow, dumbie! "-- Vivi told me you ate fruit with her once," he grinned. "I got enough to share, want some?" He held out his hand, offering the biggest of the bunch to Alpha while they watched. "Not a show without refreshments, right?"

As the cat charged, Kalama launched herself forward. They hit at the same time, and Kalama felt her teeth click with the impact. She began to back up, dizzy, stumbling with the aftershock of the impact. Adderstrike's paws hit her before she could retreat, but the attack wasn't enough to bruise the chicken beneath her feathers.
"Is-"
Kalama wanted to use her talons, her claws, but the rules were stupid and said she couldn't draw blood. She'd find other ways to attack. She charged back in, and drew her wings from her sides. There was nothing wrong with hitting a cat while it was down. She aimed to smack the cat with her wings, in a quick blunt strike.
