RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Howler - Jul 13 2025 The pain from the falling bricks doesn't register when Howler sees Rosary's body go limp in front of the wall. Rosary is Howler's first friend - Howler's only friend. His eyes flash to the Statue, it is nearly destroyed. For something that was completely still just a little while ago, it has done so much damage. "Rosary! Are you okay?" The equine seems dazed and hurt. Its at this point Howler wishes he could do more. Howler stays near Rosary - if only to distract the statue should it choose to approach them - and feels his magic spark. There's something new - Howler has not used this spell before. One of the conjured wisps is hurled toward the Statue - Howler hopes it does enough damage to finish it off. @Rosary RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Relic - Jul 13 2025
Relic could not grin anymore. She did not have lips - but you could hear the wild, toothy smile in her voice as she cheered for Plover as xey took her place on the statue's head. "YEAHHH! GEDDEM!"
It was time to finish this, and she was so ready. She wanted this thing deader than dead. She wanted the final blow. But considering how many Gembound here shared that desire, she'd probably have to settle for a... second, third, fourth? How many of them were whaling on it again? It was going to happen anyways, unfortunately. She readied an offense, but was knocked roughly aside by a stray fist. It was enough to throw her backwards, airbourne, and she tumbled to the floor again with an oof. Oddly, it didn't hurt quite as hard as she was expecting. That, and she felt a small dent in her helmet, despite it barely touching the ground in her fall. RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Plover - Jul 13 2025 Which is to say: Plover kicks off from the statue between its bouts of flailing death throes, landing with a little less grace than xe would like to have done so, but ultimately not falling flat on xir face is a win that xe will take. Ducking beneath a stony fist, xe bolts for xir axe first, then for xir dad— not for safety, but reassurance because xe surely has fully "gotten it" and defeated the statue. For the most part. Everyone else can take care of the rest while xe makes sure that xir dad's gonna all right. It's only fair after the times that he's helped xem out with anything at all... Xe holds up the ruby like a trophy when xe gets to Attikias, cheering with little acknowledgement for the statue still trying to stomp around and defend itself from the finishing blow, @Attikias RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Naskarra - Jul 13 2025 Naskarra didn't even have time to process her mistake before she was flying. She slammed into the far wall, her neck snapping back to knock her head hard against stone. Pain bloomed all over. She flopped to the floor, limp, head ringing. Naskarra lay there, long enough one might think she'd been knocked out cold. But she rose in a lashing bout of fury, each time inflaming her bruises, each ache of muscle pushed making her more and more unreasonably angry. Running on shock and adrenaline, Naskarra charged the statue again blindly. It was through sheer coincidence that she'd avoided the debris in her mad pursuit. RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Naskarra - Jul 13 2025 Naskarra lashed out at the statue with whatever she could. Teeth, claws, tail, body, head. It was uncoordinated and sloppy, but she wasn't thinking past the red in her eyes. She did not recognize the death throes of the statue in her rage, only her desire to see it put down guided her. Her uncoordinated attack left her useless in this moment: only scraping its stone hide, and likely putting herself in danger once more. As if in confirmation, a backswing glanced her side, knocking the valkhound into the ground once more. RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Attikias - Jul 14 2025 Attikias winced in sympathy at the bird-person hitting the statue with their foot; that must have hurt. People were avoiding rocks left and right, and... there was Plover, wrenching out the golem's ruby like a prize. It was a prize, and one that thoroughly surprised Attikias at that; it was enough to give him pause and stare, adrenaline still in his head but shock wearing it out. RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Rosary - Jul 14 2025
It was a miracle that nothing was broken, but all Rosary could register was pain pain pain shooting through her limbs and sides, every scrape and scratch on her exposed muscles, each cut on her thin, wispy skin. She lay there, shocked for a moment, barely registering that Howler was standing close to her, and then she began to weep. @Howler RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Hunter - Jul 14 2025 Oh shoot. They had done a real number on the thing, and now it was starting to lash out violently. Hunter scrambled back, frantic. He tripped on a bit of debris, stumbling on to the ground and catching a few scratches. The statue's thrashing crashed into him and knocked him away, gasping for breath. Okay. Okay, he was alright. He could still breathe-- no broken ribs or anything. His bicolored eyes searched the chaotic fray, looking for Plover... Plover, who was right up in the thick of things still. Right in danger. He hadn't gotten out of the way, hadn't retreated. And their dad, where was Attikias...? RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Hunter - Jul 14 2025 Hunter caught sight of Attikias, not too far away from where the others were. There was so much motion it was hard to make sense of a lot of it. Plover's fat body hit the ground again, and was scrambling toward Attikias, and that made Hunter scramble to his feet as well. He rushed back toward the combat, fur bristling. His father howled for Plover to watch out, and Hunter was already there, moving to put his body between his family and the statue, raising his spear and forearms to block any blow that might come their way. Winded and gasping for breath, he barely managed to get himself in position to be a living shield for them. RE: [Quest] The Training Dungeon - Jungle Overgrowth - Conleth - Jul 15 2025 Holed up in a little crevice, all Conleth could really do is sit and wait for the chaos to be over. He could only see tiny glimpses of the chaos outside, but the cacophonous sound of crashing rock and rubble practically rattled his whole body. His wings rustled closer for comfort. Slowly but surely the thuds of the rampaging statue slowed down, becoming stuttered and struggling. He would only dare to emerge from his hiding spot when the statue FINALLY went quiet. |
