RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Ivory - Aug 04 2020

This whole "fire" thing wasn't working out too well. She was stuck in it, smoke still roiling around her. It was starting to be... frightening, and with a loud snort, the bovine-ish hybrid charged again in what she hoped was the right direction.

She made it out at last, a loud bellow escaping her, a mix of relief and joy and alarm as her hooves and claws tore her toward the wall ahead.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Maw - Aug 05 2020

It was towards the end of the race that Madhukar's other two knowns were starting to slack and suffer. She didn't know what to do. They didn't seem to be-- well, the wiggler looked pouty and that made Madhukar's heart twist in a strange way that she would elect to ignore, but besides that, they didn't look nearly as pained as Tahi did.

"'S THERE A MEDI' A' SOME KINE?!" She just wanted Tahi to get help. Get help. Someone please HELP. She also wanted to calm down, calm down, calm DOWN!

And she didn't know what to do. It all balled up and she didn't know what to do!!! AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

And thus, her stress, it seemed would cause her to projectile electroball onto the ground in front of her. Very quickly, she would back away, tail sticking up like a lightning rod and fur on end.

GROSS.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Sharp - Aug 06 2020

the   thorn produces delicate roses
sharp

Third time's the charm, eh?

Sharp saw others leap over the flames from her peripheral vision. She wanted to get over too- she was a winner! But the flames were roaring so high above her head, and her little prey instinct shouted at her to run. A little discouraged, the lizard took a moment to just sit down and remind herself how, well, amazing she was. 'I'm pretty, and I'm spiky, and I'm friendly, and I'm companionable, and I have a million friends! I can do this!' Feeling a bit better, she picked herself right back up, shook out her pointy tail, and braced herself. Maybe if she just closed her eyes real tight and ran...

And finally! The flames licked at Sharp's heels as she bolted, light seeping through her closed lids. Luckily enough, she had no burns ('Not even a scratch! Yay!') and raced right ahead to the next challenge.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Scion - Aug 10 2020

The ruby grit its teeth as it pulled itself back to its feet, throwing itself forward to begin its climb once again. No, no it had to come in first, or at least place! If it didn't...no, this was supposed to be where it stood out, where it shined the brightest! But desperation had it losing its grip again and it scrabbled helplessly at the rock. It didn't want to glance behind it, it didn't want to look at all the gembounds running past.

It didn't want to know if Master Vargas was watching, because it knew he was and it knew he was going to be disappointed.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Huckleberry - Aug 10 2020

As soon as Huckleberry had climbed over the top, he stumbled forward, ready to sprint. But man was he tired at this point, from the climbing, especially, and the exhilaration of it all. He was having fun, he realized, but fun was exhausting and he quickly fell behind as he ran, barely sprinting across the open ground.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Doug - Aug 10 2020

So.. maybe super fast WASNT how you win a race.

He lept at the wall once again, but slower, much more careful this time around. Actually paying attention to where his feet went, instead of the hapazard scramble his first attempt had been. He didn't want to slip and fall, again- that had hurt! It hadnt hurt a LOT, but had still hurt!

Even as careful as he was trying to be, he still fell. A handhold wasnt as sturdy as it looked, and the stone crumble and tumble down to the floor, sending hom tumbling in turn. He wasn't has caught off guard as the first time, but he still made a panicked yell ashe fell to the ground for the second time.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Sorda - Aug 10 2020

Okay, well… Let's take it from the top!

She was pulling herself back up to her feet when a shadow fell across her. She looked up to see a familiar face.

"Thanks." She said, smiling slightly and gently patting the side of Tupu's face with a wing. She really appreciated it, though… she should really try to teach her some other words. It was disconcerting to have 'SORRY' screamed at her, to say the least.

As Tupu moved on, Sorda did her best to follow. She was slightly sore from the fall, but mostly just disheartened. But what was the point at giving up now? After one little fall? The chances of winning now were slim, but she could still finish this.

And, she climbed. It wasnt great, but she climbed. Good enough.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Lady - Aug 12 2020

The pup whined, ki-yi-ed in frustration, as she got to her paws again and shook herself off, the electricity that made her fur stand on end starting to really hurt, in all honesty.

She bounded forward, trying to keep going, only to slip on the same damn hairball. Finally, she landed on her rear, turned her nose to the 'sky' and began to cry pitiful little whines.

RE: [OLYMPICS IV] Obstacle Course - Hemlocke - Aug 13 2020

That... lopsided little thing breezed past it. Face was too long, poorly-balanced and yet she soared right on past it. Right to a pillar, breathing heavily with the effort but showing none whatsoever. Hemlocke twittered softly under its breath and gnashed its beak. Tail lashing and flagging as it ran, the odd little alien pushed until its legs were sore.

Carved stone blurred into view, and the garnet dove for it with a desperation only a survivor of the desert could host. Was this just friendly competition or had it inadvertently become survival? If it glanced over, the facade of Alpha might've blurred into its then-Overseer's, purple with blazing eyes. A hunter made to destroy all that failed.

It touched the pillar's base, and immediately fluttered to the top of it to perch, flanks seizing with every ragged breath.
