The room plunged into darkness. At this, Mother's warnings flared along the Hivemind link. "The creatures of Chaos are meant to sow violence in the shadows. Be wary: they may see where you cannot!" Stick to the light, was the unspoken advice--but there was precious little of it. "FIGHT ON. Your family comes."
The Praetors continued to shove for The Sentinel and the Warden, mandibles-first--and here was the backup Mother spoke of. More were marching in, another ten or so spread a few feet apart, headed for the group--angling now for Zoisite's glow (and the spiked pit). They would take time to arrive: they were slow, compared to the scuttling and flying drones.
The room is mostly dark, thanks to Azrael's Lux Imperium spell. This will begin to fade next round.
Those who can see are welcome to attempt to attack the Praetors marching for the main battle, and Zoisite in particular. The Praetors will arrive next round. A successful roll with a powerful enough spell or attack will kill one--however, gm tag for the death result. Please note that getting into melee range with the Praetors is a potentially deadly idea...
The Warden must roll against the two Praetors attacking it--for last round, and then again for this round. The Sentinel must roll for defense against the Praetor attacking him; if he is struck and not rescued this round, he will be returned to his chrysalis.
Anyone may join this thread at any time, for any reason. (If you join to pick flowers on the side, note you may be injured in the crossfire.)
Chaos/Order successful rolls will be added to the overall Order vs Chaos event tally. Other characters of any alignment are welcome to try and stop them. THIS IS A FREE-FOR-ALL BATTLE THREAD: a character who is attacked may post additionally to roll for defense against each attack, as well as posting once for their own single action. See the Order vs Chaos Master Thread for scoring and more information!
The first side to reach 500 points will assume control of Leo, and win this battle as of the subsequent GM post, with the opposing team's general calling for retreat.

The Sentinel winced, feeling that illness press down on him every bit as much as the Praetor that snapped for his face. But then--blessedly--a shroud of shadows descended. Suddenly the light--blinding as it had been, shining his attacker into nothing more than a blurry silhouette--was replaced by total clarity.
With a grunt, the Sentinel attempted to call that surge of transcendent power that he bore, to force the Praetor away and reflect its own mandibled attack back at it.
The mandibles sheared together--and abruptly a gash appeared through the Praetor's carapace. The Sentinel grunted again, kicked it away and rolled, snatching his bloodied halberd in one hand. A glance around--sluggish, agonized now by encroaching illness--summarized the battle more slowly than it should have.

The Praetors attacking the Warden were his first and most obvious target--and they were distracted, so he needn't fear the illness slowing his attacks. They would not see him coming, if he timed this right.
The Sentinel hefted his halberd, slid around behind and to the side, and raised it high--visible to him in the darkness, as was every part of the battle, in perfect clarify. The benefits, it seemed, of bearing corrupted Light... But he had no time to thank the fates for that. Instead, rheumy eyes calculating, he brought the halberd down in an attempt to destroy one of the two Praetors attacking his firstborn child.
He had little time before his own attacker rallied itself--but he himself was not in such immediate danger, now.

Alcina was dealt with--at least, he hoped so. Because now came The Juggernaut--a barely visible hulk of pale against the dark. Vargas couldn't make it out, but he was pretty sure it was the tentacled beast he'd previously seen at a distance.
And it was massive.
It had been armored, or armored-looking; he'd seen nothing he could specifically note at a weak point. Well--he'd not gain anything by waiting for it to stomp all the way over to him. He had to strike, decisively and quickly. And while he couldn't see any particular spot to destroy it, perhaps smashing a leg would topple it over--or cripple it, at least? Or if he could even tear it off entirely...
Vargas leapt to the right, landing in soft sand--then lunged in from what he hoped was its side. (It was hard to tell--did this beast even have a side!?) A forelimb swept in and down, blades-first, aiming to shear into the joint behind the immense hook of one of Juggernaut's four legs.

Azrael could feel the battle swing in the favor of chaos. Darkness was their domain, shadow was their light. The insects of order were just that - insects for them to squash. And first would go the tank that had dared to disrespect Azrael so blatently.
With the clarity of night vision, he pinpointed the base of one of the tentacles and took off after the Juggernaut, dodging the other combatents in his haste to throw himself back into battle.
Off to the side, he could see the glow of the zoisite and he snorted, pleased with its courage and the bloodlust it seemed to have picked up. It seemed all in this forge became part of chaos at some point.
Dodging around Vargas, who had seemed to also have made the massive tank his target, Azrael roared and lunged towards the base of a stinging tentacle, all four arms and jaws prepared to sink claws and teeth into flesh and rip it out in a display of vicious power.

Dread roared with frustrated fury as the lights simply faded. He rose a little higher, wings pumping, his pursuit of Ace slowed--and as the last echoes of his screeching bellow faded, he thrust magic through his rage.
A moment later he could see again, albeit not as clearly as he might have been able to--and he remembered this, suddenly, from last time. Their approach against the Hive in Cetus had been cloaked in shadow--was it the same creature's doing? It did not matter--he could see Ace again, and he gave chase, wings beating furiously to allow him to catch up, ember eyes glowing in the darkness.

Maybe there was a touch of nervousness, too, as the wind swelled under the dragon and brought her veering toward it.
But Cain held steadfast, staring her down with crimson eyes as the lights flickered and suddenly died around them. A light hiss escaped its throat, as its magic sparked and fueled its natural vision to become perfectly adapted for the darkness: and there she was again, a white shadow among the abyss.
"Come!" It yowled, "I'd like to see you try!"
It drove itself higher into the sky, flapping its wings, eyes locked on the dragon. It prepared itself for a sign of magic: expecting the beast to open her jaws, and it prepared itself to respond in an instant. Would she try to strike in the blindness?
It dared her to.

"I see how it is!" rang his declaration into the void. "Afraid to take a shot with us knowing who to hit first, huh? Guess I'll just have to dish it out against all of you then! No special treatment for wimps who don't want to be seen. You get bashed same as the rest of the boneheads, got that!"
Announcing his presence to anyone capable of sniping him from the air was far from the most intelligent thing to do. Unsurprisingly, this fact was one he didn't care a whit about; they could try, but every steel nerve in his body said they'd fail and regret the attempt soon after. He'd make sure of that, slicing and dicing like the born killing machine he was until the opposition drowned in their Oil.
Ace's head snapped in the direction of the taunt, a snort erupting from nostrils at the weak attempt at provocation—a little debatable assessment considering he fell for the bait nevertheless. "Loser? That all you got?" He sighed. "Don't know what you want me to check, other than you out of my damn way."
Whoever this was, whether a dragon or another less entertaining version of Mirac, they were wasting his time. Juggernaut and Alcina's struggles a blazing beacon that needed to be addressed a full five minutes ago, this distraction had to be disposed of quickly before matters worsened further. He knew just the way to do it too.
Blind, Ace rushed forward, the sound of his heckler coughing a guide for where an attack could land. The end of his tail curved inward to prepare for the potential feeling of it burrowing into flesh. A devastating payload of venom should just about do the trick. With this obstacle dispatched, he could move onto important issues his particular role could solve.

bebby had, in some way, succeeded in gaining his attention, which in and of itself was a small victory! HOWEVER, she now needed to not die. she didn't plan on dying today, and stars be damned if someone puts a pin in her plans.
she's never been a pro at flight maneuvers, but....
well, what can you expect from flimsy butterfly wings?
in her attempt to swerve away, she accidentally swings herself CLOSER! the stinger snags on her side, and she screams, a high pitched sound that hurts the ears, still smiling although her teeth are gritted and blood rushes down her side.
its a nasty cut, and the venom no doubt will be a problem, pain already flaring down her side, and she probably has very little time before it starts to kick in. moving her wings is painful, but being embarrassed is in her opinion far worse. she's not done yet.

bebby pants hard, her side screaming at her to land, god dammit, but she's not going to be taken down yet!! maybe she can throw in an actual attack before she's down.
her wings still work, atleast right now, which is all she needs. aslong as her magic doesn't let her down, atleast.
she feels another agonized scream ripping from her throat. maybe...
well, maybe not!
still nothing worked, and fuck did her side hurt. she felt herself faltering, and she SCREAMED, enraged. she would continue to tail ace, atleast aslong as she was in the air.
