RE: Windbreaker - Snapdragon - Dec 26 2021

"Magic, yeah!" Snapdragon says, and she can't keep the excitement out of her voice. He recognized it! He saw that—see, they have the same magic! Isn't that cool?

"I'd love a race," she follows up with. She can't help that little thrill of something competitive that runs down her spine, either.

Let's be real: the bird's clearly more experienced than her. Who knows what other magical tricks he's got up his feathers? He's clearly got more practice than her. But all that does is stroke the fires of competition; she doesn't mind being the underdog. She likes a challenge. If she doesn't win, she'll still learn a lot from his technique.

And if she does win… well, doesn't that make it all the sweeter?

"How about…" she says, squinting through the dust to find a visible landmark. There, the ledges up near the ceiling. She shifts a wing to point with her hand, tilting a little in the sky. "To that platform? First to land on it wins?"

That sounds good. Not too far, but enough to give her a workout.

@Blitz
ooc - does five rounds, whoever rolls the highest wins sound good?

RE: Windbreaker - Blitz - Jan 05 2022

Blitz followed her pointing wing, and excitement flickered in him. Snapdragon was down for a race, and honestly, he couldn't wait. He looked back to her.

"That seems fair. It will be--fun," he decided, despite 'fun' being a concept Blitz was only very distantly acquainted with. Always the very serious one, he'd been, a stoic adult in personality straight from the chrysalis.

"Is sabotage allowed, or shall we just see who gets there first?" he asked, flicking another, more mischievous gaze the hybrid creature's way.

Sure! I'd imagine if they're allowed to sabotage each other we can count it as a fight, otherwise we probably can't but IDM however you'd like to do it!

RE: Windbreaker - Snapdragon - Jan 23 2022

"Sabotage?"

Blitz is looking at her with a mischevious kind of expression, and she meets his and raises an eyebrow, a smirk showing on at the corners of her mouth. That sounds fun. That sounds really fun.

But after a few moments of consideration, she shakes her head sadly. "I'd love to, but—" She gestures at the storm around them. "Not in a storm like this. I'd hate to knock ya' into the twister, y'know?" She's a daredevil and a risk-taker herself, sure, but there's a difference between getting herself into trouble and getting other 'Bound into trouble. The bird nearly fucked up a dive earlier; she doesn't want to be the reason he smacks into the stone going top speed.

A shrug, as much as she can manage mid-flight. "We could meet up again, though? Think it'd be cool tryin' to race in some of the other caves."

Until then... "Ready when you are."

RE: Windbreaker - Blitz - Jan 26 2022

Snapdragon had a point, and Blitz dipped his head in a bobbing nod.

"I would hate either of us to end up in it," he agreed, eagle eyes snapping off to glance that way, to watch the way it tore dust and leaves and sent them tumbling across the cave.

It wouldn't exactly be a pleasant end.

"All right, then--three," and he braced himself, flapping into position beside Snapdragon; "two," and he was calling on his magicka--"one. Go!"

The magic he called up was not helpful in the slightest; it came, but weak, and he'd directed it the wrong way. It formed a crosswind, instead, not outright slowing him too badly either, but he found himself powering his wings in furious beats in order to try and advance.

He was unaware of the point at which he utterly lost his new companion, so caught up was he in flight--a burst of speed, a frantic flapping, and he turned to find himself alone.

Ah. ...Oh well.
