He sure had a lot to say, didn't he? Not that Rajani minded. Just before he wasn't one for a lot of words, didn't mean he wouldn't listen to the words of another. He said nothing to the man's explanation of the bone and simply nodded, finishing his impromptu snack in silence.

What did catch his attention was a word the man said. Cycle. He lifted his head up and cocked it to the side ever so slightly in confusion. No. He answered simply, falling silently as he clearly waited to learn. He hadn't been around long enough to learn, considering his chrysalis was still fresh behind him. He had a feeling he would, in fact, understand in time, but if he could get the information now, he would.

He'd meet Rajani's eyes, clearly trying to think himself. "Hmmm... I'm not sure how to explain it..." and that was the problem. There wasn't really any measure of time, beyond the dimming and brightening of the cave lights. And that was often irregular, and in some caves the difference was difficult to tell.

But it was the best Izote had, beyond the internal clock that Rajani hadn't quite gotten in touch with. "Well, you see the ceiling? This cave usually stays dim overall, but in all caves they go between brighter and darker. Some more obvious than others. A bunch of those light-to-dark-to-lights make a cycle. Probably."

I'm doing a horrible job. Sorry little guy.

He listened quietly, his face neutral as they spoke. Not everything the man said really made since in the moment, but he wasn't naive enough to think this man didn't know more than him, so he dutifully listened to the didactic man. If nothing else, he would keep the knowledge away for later, intent on looking at the other cave's lights closer than he had intended to before.

With a nod, he snorted softly in understanding. I see. Was all he said before narrowing his eyes curiously at the man. You stay here alone? He asked, though the question might seem a bit suspect, it came from a deep but quiet sense of loneliness that butted heads with his want to be alone.

He can tell from the look on Rajani's face that he is thinking. What those thoughts are, whether simply storing of thoughts or a Man, this guy sucks at explaining, Izote couldn't tell. But there's no point in fretting over the cub's opinion.

But then Rajani changes the topic of the conversation, from just life to square on him. The inostrancevia blinks for a moment. "Oh, me?" He wasn't exactly the most interesting of folks - another loner who did wish for some company, but really hadn't made the move to rectify that. "Most of the time, yeah. It's quiet. Sometimes I head out elsewhere too - but I don't exactly have many to talk to."

Well, the amount of people he has had a chat with, including Rajani, is small enough to count on one paw...

But that's my own damn fault.

He seemed to think for a moment before nodding, flicking his tail gently behind her. Alone sounds nice. He thought silently to himself before he finally spoke. Any idea what areas I should avoid if I'm not looking for... crowds? He figured a recluse like Izote would at least know what areas are the best to keep away from others.

He flicked an ear for a moment, taking the chance to glance around and check their surroundings once more. Even as young as he was, he was always alert, on edge and always watching around them.
