Once he was off, Shida staggered back, a little alarmed by how quickly the pain in her shoulder was mounting. It was feeling hot and swollen already, even after just a few seconds from dislodging his teeth. She glanced at it and yes, the swelling was already starting. It was going to get infected, or worse.

She turned back, just as the dog was coming at her again, a frenzy of claws and teeth, and simply turned her head away, letting all the blows fall harmlessly on the scaled mane. "Dude. You're fucking crazy," she snarled as she suddenly reared back, kicking out with her front, hooved legs right at his face again.

From the state he was in, Shida didn't think the canine would be making a lot of rational decisions, so she didn't exactly see a problem with the lash out towards her mane, but it still sparked some suspicion. Why aim directly for her scaled chest?

So, just in case, she leaned back, not allowing the claws to even touch her, and she noticed a second later that that was probably for the best. She could see faint iridescent speckles in the air - disease or maybe some other magical effect? Either way, she wasn't going to be breathing that in.

She barely noticed that her breathing had turned into a harsh panting, she could only focus on the burning sensation that was spreading across her body. It was making her feel heavy and stiff by this point. She grit her teeth, rolling her shoulder back, but it only sent another jolt of pain through her body. Did this dog have fucking venom?

The jolt distracted her long enough that she wasn't prepared enough for Deli's sudden and violent assault. She went down with a cry, snapping at them and kicking her feet futilely, trying to get a hold on them and fight back against the frenzy he was unleashing on her, but she couldn't find purchase. She hissed and roared and writhed under him, but she couldn't get him off.

Everything hurt now. The pain in her shoulder was getting worse by the second, but she wasn't fucking giving in. Determination was the fuel she ran on now, biting and bucking and trying to get him off until he suddenly froze up, sucking in a breath right after she managed to nip a finger. She stopped for a second, confused, and watching his eyes dilate a bit.

Uh. Okay.

She saw the opening and tried to take it, lunging forward with her head to slam against his face, but fuck. She was still held down and she misjudged the distance. Her head slammed back onto the floor, now sending pain to her head too. That was just fucking great.

The hand came down again and Shida didn't take the time to think, lashing forward to sink her teeth into the offered palm, but it was slapping down across her face before she could get a grip on it. And this time, there was no avoiding the strange dust-like substance from going right in her throat.

She coughed, trying to expel it, but it was too late. Her body, which was already overheating from fever caused by the venom, started to feel even worse, a cold shiver taking over as her vision started to blur.

She was starting to shut down now - not to the point of death, but she was giving into the combined efforts of venom and hallucinogens and the fight was fading from her limbs. She growled, trying to push herself back to defiance, but she wasn't strong enough. Still, she could spit out, as soon as he took his hand away, "Never."
