Gravedigger was getting good at analyzing his opponent (at least, he thought he was doing pretty okay) so he quickly realized that the legs on this one were going to be a problem. For him. Instinct said crippled them! Make them unusable! But this was a spar between two relatievly friendly creatures. And he'd promised not to hurt them.

Well. Lasting harm. No point trying to pull punches out of fear that he'll hurt someone when they'd both agreed to a spar.

As Cavallys kicked out with her legs, Gravedigger took the hit, feeling the hard hooves slam hard into his shoulder. He cringed, but then quickly struck back, swinging around his massive head like a hammer straight towards the knee of the beast. Not to break it or anything, he pulled his punch at least that much.

It was a bit of a mess of throwing themselves at each other, but Gravedigger still made a point to be careful and not get his sharp claws and acidic saliva all over the place. He also had to remind himself that he should be practicing some of the techniques he'd been shown and not just...randomly throw himself around, like he had with Eleven. He wouldn't get any better if he didn't practice.

So the headbutt coming towards him he decided not to just take, but try to use some of his natural defenses to his advantage. Unfortunately, he hadn't quite practiced the twist of his body enough, so instead of hitting the armored shoulder he'd intended, Cavallys headbutted right into the side of his own head. It sent him reeling back a few paces, momentarily stunned.

He was still recovering from the knock against his head when Cavallys was charging in again. Maybe if he had the head to do something about it, he would have retaliated, but he was still reeling back. So he didn't have time to defend himself before the zebra-hound was barrelling into him again.

He did, however, try to reach his legs forward as he fell, trying to use his momentum to tangle his short, strong limbs with Cavallys's and bring him crashing down with him, or at least unbalance him so he could have a moment to recover.
