RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Thistle - Jan 03 2016
RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Diot - Jan 03 2016 Their reactions all were different from one another. The schnauzer obviously the protector of the group, high strung and holding much love for their friends. They questioned him with authority, but it was more cute than intimidating to Diot. The adorable hyrbid was kind and trusting, welcoming Diot to get closer. But then the small gazelle spoke up, she was so pure! Nothing but curiosity! Warm and welcoming in such a soft an angelic voice! Well Diot threw caution into the wind and began his rather quick descent down. Scrambling down the tree with ease. Attempting not to approach them too fast, that dog seemed to be on high alert after all. Diot waddled his way through the snow, slowly approaching the warm circle the dog had mad. Ah, toasty warm; what a lovely ability! Sitting down he patted the millipede, who seemed to be a rather peculiar scarf rather than an animal itself. Smiling up at the gembound, he was rather small compared to them; especially the hybrid. But being only a foot tall would do that. "Look at you three, so young and quite large already!" Diot was still getting adjusted, curling his long tail around himself, patting the ground as if checking or greeting it. He could be considered an aficionado.Trying to learn all he could from nature, his very element. He had been gifted with such an amazing teacher after all. The very trees and wind themselves. So it would be only fair to explain what he had learned through his life. "Now before I continue telling you three a little of what I know, my name is Diot. D-OH..." Extending his hands outward he motioned for them to speak up, to reveal their own names in turn. It was only fair, but should nature not have provided them with such a title yet; then he would understand. Patiently waiting smiled widely, listening to each of their replies. "Such lovely names...now young ones...Magic is something that runs through all of us...some more obvious than others...some control fire, summoning it at their very feet and hands. Or even breathe it out from their lungs. Others may be able to manipulate and control the very light and darkness around us! Summoning vivid pictures and forms that can move around! Even electricity and earth are some of what can be wielded...If you can think of it, there is magic for it. I myself am gifted with the ability to connect with nature, call upon the very plant life around us" Reaching down Diot spun a hand over the soil, coaxing up a juvenile plant. "Now...I am slightly familiar with your magic...or well one of my father's are...He can control energy. Which is something that many times can be invisible to us. You my dear dog, seem to possess the same."

@Baroque @Thistle @Diot RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Baroque - Jan 04 2016 BAROQUE SONGCAT Baroque listened carefully to the others, staying quiet now that the older monkey was explaining things to them. Magic Magic seemed wonderful, but he already knew he would be no good at it. He was already rather bad at most things... So... Quietly, however, Barry tried to touch his magic. He wanted to know-- hoping he wouldn't accidentally stop time again because that was pretty dang scary and he was sure he would cry if he did. @Nova @Thistle @Diot RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Origin Cave - Jan 04 2016 No vision comes to the grizzly lion's eyes, in fact, for a short moment of time the cub is rendered blind. In the darkness, there is nothing, no vision of anything. Then, abruptly, a blood curling scream cuts through the gembound's ears. Afterwards, his vision returns. The rest of the group are unaware of what Baroque has heard. RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Baroque - Jan 04 2016 BAROQUE SONGCAT Whatever Nova said next was lost to Baroque. Panic hit him, his legs going stiff and claws digging into the loamylllll soil as his fur went on end. Why couldn't he see?! Why did something horrible always happen whenever he tried to use his gem? The scream hit his ears and his vision flooded back, but the poor baby fell to the ground, getting a face full of muddy slush. A yelp escaped his throat and he shook, fear penetrating his whole being. That was horrible?! What was it? Frantically he looked for Thistle and Nova-- not even feeling relief when he saw they were okay-- and then looked at Diot. Embarrassment hit him before the fear even began to lower. Terrified, the child reached out for his father through their connection. Tears formed in his eyes, but by some miracle he held them back, holding his breath while he waited for his father's mind to brush reassuringly against his own. @Leon RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Leon - Jan 04 2016 Baroque? The voice comes echoing back from across the distance between the bear and his son, quick to respond to the summoning with a gentle reassurance. What is it? Are you safe? All at once, a flood of warmth was sent towards the grizzlion, a protectiveness that had the bear, back in Pisces, on his toes and prepared to run for Eridanus if he needed. @Diot RE: Seeing the Earth, Finding the Stars - Diot - Jan 04 2016 They all were listening to his worse with such intensity. Diot couldn't help but feel proud for them, wanting to learn and understand the very magic around them! The black pup spoke up, asking what else they could do. Diot pondered for a moment, trying to recall what it was Bara had known; but keeping in mind that not all same element magic users know the same. A small hmmm escaped his lips as he contemplated, finally smiling up at the eager pup and friends; an answer ready for them. "From what I know you could have the ability to make a double or an illusion of yourself...and possibly release a large blast of radiation...which is rather devastating to those around you...so you will have to be aware how dangerous your magic is. Energy from what I've learned is a very serious element so you must be careful young one...as easy as it may be to win a fight in the future, remember that it could just as easily hurt your friends if they are in proximity..." Diot waited a moment to let all the information sink in before speaking up again. "There are also some users...who can control more than one element; but this is quite difficult and sometimes may backfire..." The vivid images of Vicktor calling forth fire were very much alive in his thoughts. "And some users...may have a friend who knows the same element; but it can turn out that one or two of the moves their friend knows; they do not. So magic is a very complicated and mysterious thing once you think about it. But I wouldn't worry...You're magic will come to you sometime in your life, just be -" Words cut off from watching the hyrbid become uncomfortable. Was he alright? Scooting closer to the large gembound Diot watched them intently, they seemed nervous; afraid even! Well, Diot had a lot of practice dealing with nerves thank to his father. Reaching into his small satchel the tamarin pulled out a small herb or two. compressing the leafs into his palm at first, only to crush them into a paste. Listening to the small gazelle try and inquire what was wrong all the while. Offering his hand up to the hybrid's mouth he smiled softly. "Eat this...it will be bitter but it will soothe your nerves" Diot wanted to help the young gembounds, even if they hadn't known each other for long. They were part of nature, and he was responsible for taking care of such; so they would be no different.
