RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Game Master Madison - Jun 11 2015 Not only had Arkrael discovered a new life source, but it was a formidable one, too. This was no ordinary mouse that they had discovered. No, lurking among a nearby outcropping of glistening blue crystals was a rather large rodent. It's hulking body was something like a large, ugly cave rat, and its teeth were long and sharp, twitching whiskers suggesting that it was searching for food itself. A chunk of amethyst glistened as one of its fingers, stiff and unmoving. The rat itself is about a foot in length, not counting its long, naked tail. If the predators can manage to capture it, it would make quite the meal. This rat, however, has dangerous teeth and getting bitten by it could mean an infection. For now, the rat is minding its own business, but may react defensively if it notices the two Gembounds nearby. RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Arkrael - Jun 14 2015 "Speech" Thoughts
The movement of a creature quickly stirred Arkrael's full attention. She had stopped moving nigh instantly and swung her gaze around. For a moment Arkrael was stunned at what she was seeing. An overgrown mouse? Now that would definitely fill the bellies of both Fisher and herself. Her head lowered as she focused her attention on the creature. It was doing nothing but standing there. She wasn't really sure if it was just a grown up mouse, or if it were completely different. Either way it had large fangs and creepy looking claws. She contemplated for a long moment, before her hunger won her thoughts and she just knew she would be trying to get her fangs into this plump prey. She cast one glance over at Fisher, curious to see what he may have to say. Surely he would help her if anything. Turning her gaze back towards the cave rat Arkrael's fur began to bristle up all along her spine and hackles. She stood there for a good moment, watching the things every move. She took a few more steps, before she ultimately sprung at the creature; a snarling bark emitting from her chest. It seemed surprised as she suddenly lunged at it, and there was sure to be a fight ARkrael guessed. That thing was way to big for it to not put up a fight. Alas, much to her effort she had scored her fangs into the creature. But would it work in her favor? Or would this cave rat manage it's escape? RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Fisher - Jun 14 2015
Following another hunter on a hunt was an interesting experience. Fisher crept along behind her, staying as silent as the mice they were hunting, practically holding his breath as he went. It was exciting! He usually hunted all alone-- he wasn't made so much for pack hunting, and so when she had spotted something, the young mustelid got ready to attack just a moment to late. In fact--
Ah, dangit! It looked like Ark had gotten a big bite of a giant rat. He wanted to help, but even weaseling over to one side, he didn't see how he could get a hit in without accidentally risking his barkfriend-- he especially couldn't try and zap it, he would only end up zapping her too! So instead, he lay in wait, tensing his muscles, ready to lunge in case the rat got loose and was able to flee-- he'd definitely get a chance to strike then! Was that how pack hunting went? He wagged his tail, considering how his friend hunted and how he could help her out without being a problem. It would be quite the challenge, that was for sure! And this rat didn't look like he was going to go down easy, now was he? Bring it on, lil' rodent! RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Game Master Madison - Jun 15 2015 The rat had barely paid attention to the two Gembounds until they began to approach it. When their footfalls came near, it stopped its search for food and raised its head. Large, black eyes probed the cave for the two Gembounds, but its poor eyesight would not allow it to locate them - until the wolf had lunged at the rat and snapped it up in her jaws. The rat uttered a loud squeal and thrashed in the wolf's jaws, whipping its long tail at Arkrael's face. Its hind legs kicked at her lower jaw, trying to snag the skin while its front legs struggled to swipe and scratch at Arkrael. RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Arkrael - Jun 17 2015

Growls emitted from Arkrael's chest. Her eyes quickly closed to this cave rat's lashing tail and she shook her head as if to get the thing to stop. It only seemed to grow worse, it's tail relentlessly slapping at her face. Well this thing definitely did not want to be eaten! That was far to bad for it. Arkrael's belly was hungry and she was sure that her new barkfriend would still be hungry too. A loud yelp suddenly came from Arkreal, muffled by the body of the cave rat. Claws suddenly caught perfectly on her lower jaw, ripping through the skin and sending droplets of blood to the ground to splatter carelessly. Her top lips curled up as anger quickly overwhelmed her and she became careless in her assault. Just barely did her jowls loosen to attempt biting down harder on the thing to kill it, but in a flurry of movement and more scratching thrown towards her the cave rat slipped from her jowls. Blood gently dripped from her lower jaw and now even lighted dotted over her poor nose. "Oh no you don't!" She snarled as she watched the rat only for a moment. Would the creature run? If so Arkrael would chase it! Or would this creature turn and fight back? In the end Arkrael would still fight back and there was always Fisher too. Even if his paw was hurt he could always use his magic like he had on the last one. So she waited, staring down the creature until she knew what course of action to take. Her muscles were tense and ready to spring into action when it was time. OoC: SO. WORD EDIT FOR THAT POST ROLL. Foul* because they are night fighting a chicken. Successful* because it does not need two 'l's. conquering* Where did that e go? Arky...please wake up before you attempt spelling things ;w; RE: Fishing for... Fish? - Fisher - Jun 19 2015
As his barkfriend yelped, a clever idea came to the young mustelid lying in wait, ready to pounce if the cave rat got too far away from the wolf. His tail wiggling, he remembered a single spell he had that he could use without worrying too much. It wouldn't be able to hurt Arkrael in the process and because of that, Fisher knew that it was the best thing the usually solo hunter could do.
Focusing, the tiny weasel-like gembound pressed low to the ground and glared at the rat, letting out a tiny growl as he focused his magick on the heart of the beast. Just a small tweak of the nerves, a gentle jolt to the heart, and the blood that rushed through its chest would come to a standstill, theoretically. He couldn't quite stop the pulse, but he could slow it or speed it up to the point where the creature would probably pass out. He hadn't tried it on a frantic enemy before, but that was alright. First time for everything, eh? ;; post roll Fisher hadn't counted on how hard the spell would be to aim, as his gem sparked gently on the back of his neck. He managed to slow the creature's heart, but it probably wouldn't help too much. With a huff he crept a bit forward, a bit annoyed that his spell hadn't had the immediate effect he wanted. Arkrael huffed and puffed as she growled at the rat. When Fisher called for her to get it again and to go for the neck Arkreal would do just that. With a snarl the wolf-pup pounced at the rat again. Snapping her fangs about until she managed to sink her teeth deep into the rat's neck. Once she realized she was latched on Arkrael swung her head back and forth, desperate to win the battle. There was a sharp crack and suddenly the rat went completely still, leaving Arkrael to stand there with her paws splayed out. Her chest heaved for breaths, desperate to fill her lungs with the sorely needed oxygen. Blood dripped down her chops, but it was ignored as Arkrael was finally satisfied with the fact she had won. Her tail immediately began to wag back and forth. "I GO' ETH'! I GO' ETH!" She cheered excitedly as she pranced right over to Fisher and deposited the cave rat right to his paws. Her tail was moving a mile a minute, nearly shaking her entire rump in it's desplay of excitement. That was her first big hunt ever! And she had won! Of course she had Fisher to thank for the assistance. Had he not used his magic when he had the cave rat would have surely got away or caused even more damage to Arkrael. Now she was tired though. She needed to rest. With a sigh she sunk down to the ground, still panting and huffing for air. Maybe a good nice nap would do her well before she shared in the feast that the two of them had caught. Until then...she would let fisher have his fill and she would sleep.... -Exit Arkrael- |
