RE: Washed away - Ghanyarah - Jan 09 2017 The reptile looked between them as the red wolf explained the situation. She was reportedly alright, so Ghanyarah eased into the mud and flicked his tongue, searching the air for their warmth. A thousand other familiar smells came with it. The cub seemed to look at him with both awe and fear, which... he could have taken advantage of, in a different life, if he'd wanted to try and make a meal out of the cub. But not today. His intentions were something entirely new. "A lizard." Ghanyarah pronounced each syllable crisply, flicking his tongue again. "I am Ghanyarah." The lizard added, and turned his gaze to the red wolf. He hadn't gotten her name before, but he remembered her arranging rocks at the Polaris party. "You were at the gathering with Tukluk, the monkey." He pointed out. RE: Washed away - Cuanakrys - Jan 10 2017 "oh, I remember you!" Cuan said, in an excited voice. "You where the one making pretty ice sculptures!" Cuanakrys nodded, and said "I am sorry for not introducing myself there... My name Is Cuan." RE: Washed away - Aceus - Jan 11 2017 Ace squinted her eyes at this 'lizard' as if it were some rare gem. "Wierd.. A Lizard?" She suddenly realized how far the differences in species could vary. "Interesting..." She said looking in awe at the odd creature. RE: Washed away - Ghanyarah - Jan 11 2017 The young one tested out the word he had presented her, lizard, dubbing it weird. Yes, Ghanyarah had to admit that he'd seen far less lizards here in the cave than other species, mammals mostly. Wolves and felines and bears. There were birds, too. But very few lizards. Ghanyarah shifted his gaze to the red wolf, pleased that she actually recognized him, though he was met with another wave of cool embarrassment remembering his failure to produce a decent water fountain when he as demonstrating his magic. Maybe she didn't remember. She certainly remembered his ice sculptures, and apologized for not introducing herself. "It is no problem, Cuan. Ice is what you could call my forte." Ghanyarah answered with a thin smile. He focused on the young one again. "Have you identified your type of magic yet?" He asked, curious. Actually, could he recall seeing Cuan use her magic? @Cuanakrys RE: Washed away - Cuanakrys - Jan 13 2017 "Yes. It's Arcana magick. I sometimes use it to move things a bit when i feel extremely lazy. Let me demonstrate." Cuan tried out a new spell, but she only ended up sounding like a high-pitched staticky wub, which is an awful sound to hear. "Aand that is what it was DEFINITELY not supposed to do." @Gahnyarah RE: Washed away - Aceus - Jan 13 2017
"Hmm.. As interesting as you too are, i believe i have plans with a friend." Aceus lied through the confusion of not knowing what magicka was or how it worked quite yet. "Um, I guess I'll see ya around?" She tried not to sound nervous but she new she did a little bit, she needed to try and hide that better. She turned to walk away hoping that neither of them would comment on her leaving. "Speech looks like this." "Thoughts looks like this." tags: here notes: here RE: Washed away - Astaroth - Jan 14 2017
Astaroth had been walking slowly through Cetus looking for deer or elk when he heard the proclamation of another user of arcane magick. "Well, it seems that you aren't very experienced in the use of arcana or you just didn't concentrate enough, though, sometimes you manage to completely fail against all odds" He said loudly as he walked out of a nearby copse of trees. "If you practice often like me though then there is a much higher chance of your spells being successful, and hopefully this works but an example would be..." Astaroth then concentrated on the spot just behind the red wolf, Cuan she had said her name was? "This, if you concentrate on the spot you wish your voice to come from you should have a very high success rate." He said, his voice booming from the spot directly behind the wolf. He looked at her, the still slightly fresh wound from his last battle, a cut running from mid forehead under his eye all the way under his right jaw. "You need to practice more." Aceus turned at the sound of Astaroths voice. "Az! What are you..." She stopped talking as she noticed the scratches by his eye. What could have happened? Did he get in a fight? Do I need to kill someone for hurting him??? Thoughts of worry spun through her head and she couldn't help but be angry. She bounded quickly to the wolf. "What happened to you face? Who did that to you? You need to get that taken care of properly! Her overprotective motherly nature kicked right in and her heart filled with worry. Who could possibly do this to my sweet, sweet wolf friend? Suddenly she no longer wished to leave, she wished only to know what had happened to Astaroth and what idiot had decided to hurt him. Only it backfired horribly, resonating around them in a deafening, static din. The lizard lowered his head slightly; the sound itself wasn't so bad, it was the vibration of the ground lent by the thundering noise that threw him off guard, sending the rest of his senses into disarray. It seemed that this was enough to convince the tiger cub that it was time to leave. He looked to her, seconds from saying goodbye to the child, before a fourth Gembound had appeared. This one a wolf with a fairly obvious wound. The wolf had some interesting words for Cuan, insisting that she had to practice more, and the cub recognized the wolf pup, imploring as to where he had gotten his injury. Ghanyarah shuffled closer to Cuanakrys. "There is no shame in failure. I fail all the time." He spoke, completely straight-faced. It was slightly embarrassing to admit. In fact, it punctured his ego to have said it out loud, and remembered his various losses in trying to hunt other Gembounds before he had realized their value. "I would be happy to train with you, Cuan." He added. @Cuanakrys I don't even know what the posting order of this thread is anymore lol OTL RE: Washed away - Astaroth - Jan 14 2017
Astaroth looked at the lizard curiously. "I have seen your kind in these caves before but none quite as large as you... but either way, I do agree that there is no shame in failure, I failed almost every time that I tried a spell not long ago but I set my mind to getting better, now I am very often successful." Astaroth then looked at Aceus, "Do not worry for my wound, I received it in a battle with a gem who I had previously thought was my friend, I obviously was wrong. He did not leave the battle unscathed though and likely will be limping for the next couple cycles if not longer." Astaroth looked wistfully into the pond then, obviously feeling a pang of loneliness knowing that possibly without his brazen action he and the owl could still be friends. He had been shocked at the owl's initial anger and had returned the feeling ten-fold going so far as attacking the owlet. He had not true regrets though, only longing for that ephemeral feeling of friendship. Of course he had friends.... just... not as many as he would like to have.
