PROMPT Undisturbed for countless cycles, a pair of glittering gemstone stalagmites formed among the higher reaches of Monoceros. Not long ago, something began to stir in each of them and the time is near that their neonates would emerge, but the whipping winds of the room below are relentless. Perhaps you would be better off not hatching at all, as the winds assail you even now, eroding at your chrysalis little by little- the only thing keeping you safe. Howling gusts caress the only shelter you've known and threaten to knock you down. Fortunately, a narrow ledge several feet below will prevent a terrible fall to the jagged gorge several dozen meters below. A winding path leads into the depths of the gorge from the ledge upon where you emerge, and only through the labyrinthine trenches will you find salvation. Your unsteady legs will make the trek difficult. The winds will knock you down- they'll steal your breath. At least you'll have each other. How will you get out of this terrible place? The Zephyr sure doesn't want you to. Oh, and the lights are still out.
