RE: Birds of a Feather - Gigatsuhali - Jan 23 2017

She had to act quick. The bird was small and like painfully close to death already, so she fell back on Fauna Cleanse. It would hopefully, at the very least, slow down the venom and give Hellebore a fighting chance. With a large inhale, she forced her magicka forth, nuzzling into the chest of the smaller bird and closing her eyes. To her relief, her magicka made up for it's failure with the snake. It did more than just slow it down; it began to reverse it, just enough for a tiny bit to leak from the wounds.

Now, it was time for step two...

While her cleanse washed Helle's body of the venom, giving her little body a magicka-equivelant of a steroid, it seemed only fair to focus on herself. She would have to start with Immunity, she decided. Focus on the venom was absolutely necessary, so she focused hard. The gem did it's part, but she felt lightheaded as the neurotoxins had began their job. She laid beside her unconscious ward, trying to remain calm. Everything had happened so fast though and her head was spinning.

"It'll be okay, little one. I'm here, little one," she sang, "No one's gonna get ya, little one. I'm here for you, little one..."

With her strength barely holding on, she heaved a sigh and nuzzled the babe again, readying herself for one last dose of the Fauna Cleanse to, hopefully, save Hellebore's life.

Gigatsuhali adjusted herself, then began her work once more. Her gem gave it it's all, sweeping it's spell through the feather soul before her again. The last of the venom poured from the holes, Giga smiling weakly at the little victory. However, as long as Helle remained unconscious, she felt no true success in her endeavor.

Tense and nervous, Giga looked around them, feeling a chill of discomfort. Carefully, she picked up Hellebore once more and found them a safer place to be, finding a nice, well covered spot among the cliffs. Once comfortable, she tucked the tiny bird under her breast where it was warmest, ruffled her feathers, then succumbed to a sleep that had begged for her. Hopefully, when she woke, Hellebore would be a hopping, happy ball of feathers once again.

Her sleep was muddled and fractured under the gentle warmth of Gigatsuhali. Time was a muddied thing - the last she knew, she'd been talking happily to the older gem, and suddenly there was pain and a fevered rush that stole part of her consciousness away from her. The pain seemed to persist in the warped purgatory she had fallen into, for the venom that flushed through her veins gave her a muted perception of life while her body tried to shut down. She felt the pain and the heat as they both passed through her veins, and she heard the frightened cries of the other gem as if through a wall, and she felt the talons enclose her tiny frame as she was pulled into the open air.

It all hurt so much, but it was starting to fade away in exchange for a truer sleep. She was swaddled in an honest warmth and the fever began to leave her soon enough, allowing her to relax and breath easier while the venom made its way out of her system.

When she finally woke up, she was drowsy, befuddled, and she ached with a ferocity she'd never felt before. She only half-registered the puncture wounds on her breast, as they took a backseat to the overall pain she felt. She nuzzled into the bigger gem's soft and slightly musty smelling feathers, smiling a little.

Groggy, a splitting headache, but still alive. The tickle of life beneath her, a nuzzle into her feathers, made it all worth it. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked to the small one and smiled, knowing all her effort paid off. This hatchling was safe. fuckthatsnake.

"I am... so glad you're awake," she breathed, "What's....what's your name, little one?"

Each word rang in her head, causing every ounce of speech she uttered to be a regret, making her realize she was having her first migraine. Still, she would fight through it to get to know her new friend. She hoped to see this one grow and blossom into someone spectacular... but that was all cycles away and there was no need to think so far ahead! Giga sighed, deciding to try to nourish herself... perhaps it would sooth the ache in her noggin.

RE: Birds of a Feather - Hellebore - Jan 26 2017

Helle crawled her way to full consciousness by stretching her little limbs, being sure to not elbow her savior in the process. She stretched to try and fight the persistent ache, pulling her shoulders back with a small, 'mmn' sound and a shivering as she did so. Then she fell back into the warmth with a soft 'pluff'.

"Y' saved me," She whispered, still with that faint, sleepy smile. Her voice was thready and weak, but there. "M' Helle."

What Seven and Zeno had said about those out to harm....made sense to her now. There were kind people in the world, and there were those with murderous intent. There were those that harmed and those that saved, and she wanted to be one that saved. "How," she croaked quietly, "How did you...?"

She wanted, needed to know, needed to learn.

It was the first time anyone had ever said that to the yinehi. It stole her breath and all she could do was stare at Helle as she introduced herself, then stretched. This beautiful child bird had managed to make every ounce of her being worth it, had she ever doubted her own cause. How such simple words could have such an effect. It was almost as magickal as the spells each gembound could perform. Including this small curious gembound, who now questioned how she'd been saved from death's grasp.

"By the magick of my gem. I'm a witch-doctor, m'dear. One who takes pride in her healing skills," she said. "When I was just a hatchling, I knew a healer who was older and wiser. She was skilled. In fact, I believe she was of the element you are... the one of Plants."

As she spoke, she summoned her strength, her body becoming the source of life to a plant as it sprung from between her feathers, but failed to bloom all the way. Carefully, she plucked it from herself and settled it upon the ground, roots broken from being pulled. A small demonstration for Helle who had grown something so beautiful prior to the attack.

"This is not my born element, but over time I've picked up things. You're already better at growing things than I am, though." Gigatsu chuckled a little, believing it true and hoping little Hellebore would, too.

She listened with a definitive intent, for she could already feel the warm pull of sleep trying to take her back down. This was more important though, she needed to hear this.

She felt a small stirring of surprise at the title of witch-doctor, and that her mentor was of the plant affinity like her. So that meant, like Tuk, she could become strong and help others and....and she felt the tiny, closed petals of a flower kiss her cheek, brushing against her feathers, and she opened her eyes to try and see it in the dark. She could feel the older gem move and place it on the ground, and she could smell the small amount of perfume dot the air. The comment that praised her made her wiggle more into the gem's fluff, her cheeks warming.

"I want to be like you," She whispered. her breathing evening out. Her eyes fluttered closed again. "I want to help like you. Be...just as....amazing..."

And with that, she was sound asleep again, with a tiny little smile on her face.
