RE: This is Home - Nameless - Feb 26 2018 Blackberry heard the growl of the wolf just in time to pull herself away, hearing the jaws snap into thin air. She squinted, trying to see, but everything was so dark and her eyes still stung. However, she could just make out the form of Kera, muzzle right in front of her. Without really thinking about what she was doing, she lunged forward to snap her beak onto the dog's muzzle. There was a furious yelp that left Kera's muzzle as Blackberry bit and held onto her.. well, muzzle. For a moment, she only flailed furiously-- not necessarily trying to get the goose off her, though instead it was out of anger and frustration.
Then, she paused. With another sharp, tense inhale and a low growl, Kera began to concentrate on her gem, muzzle crinkled. The pink stone lodged in her throat glittered, then quickly died out. Was she too angry to call on even her fungus? Kera did not know-- and so Kera resumes angrily flailing. ![]() Round: 4 Attempt: Exhale stinky-breath RIGHT next to Blackberry's mouth to throw her off Defense: none Injuries: Mild limp, bitten muzzle @Blackberry RE: This is Home - Nameless - Feb 26 2018 Feeling blood run into her mouth, Blackberry smirked darkly. When Kera seemed unable to do anything, whatever she had tried to do, Blackberry simply hung on, her teeth dug into the dog's muzzle. However, she realized that this probably wasn't a great place to be. There were claws at easy access and teeth right in front of her. So, with a great heave, she ripped herself away, trying to take Kera's weight with her. However, she misjudged how heavy the dog was and ended up slipping on her own feet. Instinctively, she let out a honk of protest as she fell, her teeth dislodging harmlessly as she flopped to the ground. For once, being on the plumper side of most wolves actually worked to Kera's advantage, but she had very little time to acknowledge this. She was seeing red and tasting her own blood by now, and as she felt the goose slip and fall away from her, she turned.
She wondered, if for a moment, what goose-meat tasted like. But she was quick to dismiss this. Somehow, eating things that could speak was a little unsettling. She did, however, have a job to do-- she had to kill Blackberry somehow. With the goose on the ground she moved to place her paws on her chest, pinning her there if able, and then-- again --moved to sink her teeth straight into the bird's neck. ![]() Round: 5 Attempt: Bite Blackberry's neck Defense: none Injuries: Mild limp, bitten muzzle @Blackberry RE: This is Home - Nameless - Feb 26 2018 She couldn't see Kera coming down on her, as she was still mostly blind, so when the paw came down on her chest and teeth closed around her throat, she honked loudly, pain blossoming and fear jolting through her body. Instinctively, she raised her wings to beat at Kera's head, trying to dislodge her grip. As Kera came loose she took blood with her. The coppery taste sent her more into a rage-- not to mention how angry being thrown off Blackberry had made her in the first place. She bristled, white fur standing on edge.
She did not hesitate in the slightest-- the second that Blackberry stopped flailing and beating her head around she lunged forward, moving to clamp her strong jaws around the goose's face-- but she did not simply hang on. She began to rip and gnaw furiously at whatever her teeth could find, with the clear intention of removing skin and feathers from whatever she got a hold of. ![]() Round: 6 Attempt: Bite/rip at Blackberry's entire face with her teeth Defense: none Injuries: Mild limp, bitten muzzle, beaten head @Blackberry RE: This is Home - Nameless - Feb 26 2018 At first, Blackberry was smug that she had managed to throw off the wolf. However, her victory was short lived. She managed to open her eyes wide enough to see the inside of Kera's jaws as they clamped around her face. She screamed with pain as blood began to drip from her face and wolf teeth gnashed into her skin and feathers. Humiliation burned through her veins and an anger like never before pulsed from her in waves. The blood was everywhere, dripping into her eyes and her mouth, tangy and warm and so delicious. She kicked wildly and beat her wings senselessly against the wolf's attack, screaming and honking, her unseeing eyes wide and wild with rage. Round: 6 Attempt: get Kera off of her Defense: none Injuries: scars, lame wing, mostly blinded, neck wound, mutilated face ___________________________________________________________ Hear my honk. It was likely lucky that Kera was too blinded by fury to realise what she was doing. Had she been in a calmer, more logical mindstate she would have been horrified-- she knew in the back of her mind that later, when everything had calmed down, she would be overwhelmed by guilt.
She was not, however, in the later yet. The taste of blood and raw flesh in her mouth caused her to growl louder-- deep and incessant like some sort of machine --and for a moment, she only continued biting and ripping out chunks of black feathers. Without thinking, she suddenly moved to clamp her jaws hard into Blackberry's head and swung the goose around (with some effort) to slam the bird into the cave wall next to her. ![]() Round: 7 Attempt: Slam Blackberry into the wall Defense: none Injuries: Mild limp, bitten muzzle, beaten head @Blackberry RE: This is Home - Nameless - Feb 27 2018 Blackberry was dissociating at this point. The world had dissolved into pain and the force of her being thrown into the wall, right on her good wing, instantly breaking the brittle bone, barely passed by her. She was numb to it all, everything was dark and numb except for the pure fury and insanity that was taking over every inch. The blood, the blood was everywhere. Sweet and warm, flowing both from her own body and the wolf's. Or did it come from the wolf? Was it just her? Did it matter? As she flopped to the ground, in front of Kera, her wing broken and limp, she didn't stop moving for a second. She lunged forward again, trying to clamp her beak onto whatever was nearby. Which happened to be Kera's paw. Round: 7 Attempt: bite her paw, hard Defense: none Injuries: scars, lame wing, mostly blinded, neck wound, mutilated face, broken wing ___________________________________________________________ Hear my honk. Crack.
Kera's mind was still empty as she heard the sound and her gaze flicked to watch Blackberry fall to the ground. She moved out of the way of the goose's beak as it snapped near her paw-- barely taking notice of the scarlet liquid all over the tunnel. Even through her rage, there was some primal instinct that was almost proud at the realisation that it wasn't her blood, but for now Kera ignored that. She would likely ignore and put down that feeling later, too. Lunging forward once more, Kera planted both paws heavily onto the bleeding goose and began repeating her attack on Blackberry's face-- though this time, she aimed at what she had the closest access too: the back of her neck and between her shoulders. ![]() Round: 8 Attempt: Bite/rip at the back of Blackberry's neck and between her shoulders Defense: none Injuries: Mild limp, bitten muzzle, beaten head @Blackberry |
