Kera came suddenly and Huckleberry looked up quickly to see where she was going. He easily fell for her feint and when she hit his right side, he tumbled back to the ground with a small cry, flopping on his side. He scrabbled at the ground to get himself away from her before she could attack again, trying to regain his footing. His hind legs began to kick out, trying to knock her own feet from under her while his talons tried to regain some kind of balance.

Huckleberry managed to clamber back to his feet but he had barely gotten his footing back when Kera was one him once again. With a terrified yelp, he found himself being pressed down and he felt a thrill of terror. His wings began to beet erratically and he tried to jump into the air. He wasn't exactly strong enough to completely bring her with, but he at least tried to get her to loosen her grip. But, it seemed, he had overestimated himself and all he ended up going was flapping his wings without gaining any altitude.

Kera's kick did what she wanted it to do. Huckleberry felt his footing, once again, be knocked out from under him. With the combined weight of Kera on her back and her feet kicking him down, her superior weight smashed him into the ground and he cried out.

He was pinned underneath her now and he realized that he was trapped. He thrashed wildly, trying to free himself from her grip with a rising feeling of terror in his chest. He became distinctly aware that this was Kera on his back. This was the wolf that had killed his mother, who he had grown up learning terrible things about. That she had him pinned to the ground and could just...reach over and close her jaws around his neck.

His struggles intensified until his entire body was thrashing without any sort of control. There was a whine building up in his chest and his eyes were glazed with terror. This wasn't fun at all.

The weight disappeared from Huckleberry's body and he scrambled away from her, whipping his head around to find her. The groan alerted him and he stepped back, stammering a squeaking "Sorry" before she was charging at him again. His eyes widened as he realized where she was aiming.

I don't want to die! He reared back as she came closer and her head landed right in his chest. He stumbled back, losing his footing and falling back to the ground. But now his head was level with her chest as well. Without really thinking, he pushed himself forward, intending on doing the same thing.

As Huckleberry's head connected with Kera's chest she heard a growl deep in her throat, which made him flinch and back away. He just barely missed as she charged towards him again, passing him by barely a hair. As she charged, he only really acted instinctively and raised his front legs to push her away, his claws pulled back so they wouldn't sink into her fur. His attack was wild and uncoordinated and only fell on thin air.
