Howl preened beneath Mother's touch, the mental simulation of hands through his mane and cupping his face, encouraging even when she did not need to. Yes, he was a good thief. Yes, he could find things others couldn't. He would bring the family children - bring siblings into the world, into the goodness and purity of Mother's love.

Mother knew best, and the hybrid's answer was almost more than just a compulsory response, yes, Mother. His fingers ached, but now with the anticipation to please her and bring children home.

Mismatched eyes glimmered, tail flicking as he spiralled deeper and deeper into the enthralling allure and wordlessly falling into a thoughtless dream-state, even he skulked away into the greater caves. He would bring them children - his family. This - a home - was what he'd been looking for, looking to steal, and Mother had simply given it to him.
