Orthoclase-Alpha stared Hunter down like a predator deciding if it was worth the fight, and-- um, well-- Hunter could only give a toothy grin and hope that it didn't look too much like a snarl. We're all friends here! He thought desperately, though he couldn't help the flinch as Alpha snatched the fruit from his fingers and growled, quills bristling from end to end.

His fingers trembled as he pulled his arm back, still managing to smile despite himself, and he scooted a few inches back too-- just to make it clear that he wasn't trying to get all up in the big guy's grill. A deep breath, and he set down the rest of his mango between them, before turning back to the action while munching on his own mango.

He didn't really want to stare too much at Alpha. That was a threatening thing to do, like, "hey, you wanna go, bro?" and that was the exact opposite energy he was trying to bring to the table. He wiped the juice from his muzzle, watching as chicken and cat collided again.

"... Hey, uh... I wanted to apologize," Hunter briefly glanced back at Alpha-- and caught himself wondering if those scratches on its face had been there before. They looked... Fresh. It hadn't happened in the wrestling tournament, though. "For threatening you with my spear. I was a dumb kid, I mean. I'm sure you weren't scared of me, right?" He chuckled, tilting his head as he watched Alpha eviscerate a mango. A shiver ran up his spine. "-- Vivi could be friends with anyone. I should've realized you were with her..."

Well, he was still assuming a hell of a lot, but his heart was in the right place. Right?

"Anyways... If you're cool with Vi, you're cool with me." Flash another shy smile, and look away. That was all that needed to be said; no more badgering the big lumbering murder machine if it just wanted to be left alone.
