RE: Witchcraft and the Opportunities it Provides - Sunny - Aug 25 2020

Sunny's eyes waved. She wondered if that sadness had anything to do with this Gembound's untimely demise, but one way or another, she touched it gingerly as well as it was rolled back into place. That was a much easier creature to place -- certainly a form that would be compatible with hers. Shells were always useful, and diversity of form meant it was something that had lived many times! Had many mothers -- or life-givers, at least. Or, she hoped it did.

The snail stiffened at the wisp, examining it closely. "Oh! Little-stone's magic, yes? Very nice, very nice." She didn't mention that she preferred the dark; she didn't want to be a poor host! "Seeing the other stone, then?" she asked, mostly just confirming that Kitty was up for it.

The red panda reached for the tsavorite, noticing that it was the third of three green stones. Perhaps Sunny had a favorite color, she thought idly, although its color warped somewhat with the blue wisp-light shining through it. Kitty laid a paw over it and closed her eyes for the third and final time (this session, anyway). Much like the first time, it was a little vaguer again, but the experience with how sharp and clear it could be had to some degree enhanced Kitty's understanding of how to tug at the strands of magic she was looking for.

A slinky, black and blue mink-like creature was practicing in a make-shift obstacle course, fluidly moving through tubes and hoops as if its body were water moving over rocks or debris. It followed the same path and pattern for three rounds, before sliding onto its belly with all of its six legs sprawled out, dramatically flopping its head over with its green tongue hanging out.

"Wow! You beat the record!" exclaimed a nearby voice.

The mink opened one of four teal eyes and grinned. It raised a paw and gave a thumbs-up. Heaving itself up, the mink panted, its long tail whipping around to wipe its brow.

"'Bout time," it sighed, giving another grin to its friend. But now it was time for a nap!

Kitty's eyes lit up when they opened. "Me-shape. Blue an' black! Two extra -- eyes an' legs." She nudged the stone back into place and tucked her paws underneath her. But she didn't know how to describe an obstacle course, so she didn't say anything else, waiting quietly to be dismissed -- Kitty didn't really like this den, after all, and quite wanted to leave it now that her help had been given for all three stones. She wondered what Sunny was looking for -- why did she care what had been inside life-stones? Kitty didn't see the appeal.

RE: Witchcraft and the Opportunities it Provides - Sunny - Aug 25 2020

Sunny considered that. How would her form mesh with one like Kitty's? No different than with Madhukar's, she imagined, although a Kitty-hybrid would probably be more slinky and fond of climbing. She touched the stone gingerly just like Kitty had and made a pleased sound. "Thanking you, little-stone. Magic is tiring, so go and resting, yes?" She gestured towards the exit, dismissing the other creature as she turned to examine the stones more closely. She liked them, liked what they held. For every one she could think of something good, although she wasn't sure what the chances were of such designs actually coming to pass.

But one way or another, she liked this array she had. While her friends would be the first lives she gave, these stones would come next, once her first litter no longer needed her. So heavily, anyway. She settled down comfortably and started to chew on the bone making up one of her walls. Sometimes, a little calcium was just nice. As a treat.

Stretching and yawning, Kitty nodded to Sunny. She was glad she could help -- she also saw no reason to verbalize that. Kitty made her way out of the den, letting her wisp dissipate when she left it, and pleased that all of her memories had been successful. Totally unaware of the fact that two had been the wrong ones, but Sunny would figure it out at some point. Even if Kitty would be faced with a... pretty tricky decision to make, when that came to pass.
