Deli was still chuckling a little bit when, quite suddenly, they felt something strange happening. Their fur was growing wet and water was dripping from their body. At the same time, they felt themselves getting light-headed and their throat was achingly dry. Their eyes widened and they looked at Comet, to see if she knew what was going on. But she was glaring at them, intensely, the look on her face the same look that Deli had seen others have when casting a powerful spell and they knew. Eyes bulged with sudden, rushing rage and they stood up, stumbling back a bit as their eyesight wavered in front of them. Comet folded back her ear to protect herself from the strong language that ensued. So that was what the spell did, and it seemed really powerful too. It was a good thing she didn't expend all the energy on it, that would've been deadly.
She ignored their barks of anger which got raspier as they talked. This was what they had asked for. She just wanted to come here and watch them sketch, and they throw red paint all over her face? Well, she didn't feel any pity for them at the moment. The wolf pup could see that they were thinking. What were they thinking about? Were they going to do something back? In retaliation? That was not good. She had not planned out so far as the thinking that they would potentially fight back. But if a fight was going to occur, she would have to hydrate herself to get ready. And with the water absorbed into her skin, she was ready for whatever was coming next. RE: What would you do if there was a child right in front of you? - Deli - Sep 01 2020 Content Warning

Deli still had their teeth bared, snarling and growling when they broke off into harsh rasps, quickly covering their mouth so their saliva didn't go flying out and give away their little secret. Their throat hurt so bad, they felt like they were dying! They needed water, like, NOW. But the wolf was still there, just...standing there. Staring at him. Deli stared right back, glaring. Comet said nothing as they swore at her and demanded some water. It was not true, what they said. They had started it, and it seemed like more than a joke. But they looked like they were really suffering. Should she give them back some water?

As soon as the wolf set a little puddle of water in front of them, Deli didn't hesitate. They turned to the side and immediately spit out the saliva they had before getting on their hands and feet and licking up the water as if they'd never tasted such cool, clear liquid in their life. They didn't stop until it was all gone and they were, perhaps not completely quenched, but at least not horribly dehydrated anymore. They sat back, panting heavily from drinking water so fast, eyes turning down to Comet when they remembered that they were actually kind of really angry at her. They sat up and frowned - it was quite strange to see Deli without their signature smile. RE: What would you do if there was a child right in front of you? - Comet - Sep 01 2020
Comet smiled watching them lap up the water. She was starting to feel bad now thinking she may have actually overreacted dehydrating them like that.
Now that she had apologized, she expected something... other than Deli starting to swear at them again. Seemed like even though she couldn't take a joke, they couldn't take an apology. And what was it with all the swearing? She was being civilized and just sitting here politely, but they started acting up the moment he finished drinking. Deli narrowed their eyes at the apology, calming down for a moment and crossing their arms across their chest. Eyes widened with shock at the suggestion. So, they liked fighting, didn't they? She didn't know what kind of magic he used, or if they used magic at all. That put her at a disadvantage, because they knew what magic she had. Comet decided to play fair. She would not be using the too-powerful-for-her-own-good spell that she used earlier. No, that would not be good. The wolf could only hope that they would play fair too.
Comet knew that she would probably have to play it smart. She knew none of the moves that Deli had, so the only way to find out some of them were to wait for them to attack her. So that meant... she needed a shield! Problem was, she hadn't practiced this spell much. The wolf pushed her energy into the spell, and hoped it would work. @Deli Round: 1 Attempt: Make a shield Defense: Thick fur Injuries: None RE: What would you do if there was a child right in front of you? - Deli - Sep 02 2020 Deli
Deli crouched, ready to race forward and chomp down as hard as they could, get that venom into the wolf's system, but when she didn't move to attack, they hesitated. Good thing they did - a moment later, keen eyes detected something shimmering in front of her. Some kind of trap? Grin widened. Defensive player then. How annoying. In the second they had before their wait would have gone on too long, they quickly weighed their options. They could try to attack physically and risk the trap and further injury, they could use a magical attack to do...something, or they could further prepare themselves for their next attacks. They weren't willing to risk throwing the fight, and they had no idea how the trap would react to magic. Better to play it safe for now - the spell before had been nasty and they didn't care for a repeat. Their magic flooded through their body, enhancing their senses. Eyesight sharpened, smell became stronger. Things would hurt more, sure, but it was worth it. Their grin widened as the slight increase showed, for sure, that there was some kind of barrier in front of the wolf. The shield sprung to life, and it was powerful. But Comet guessed that she was only lucky that it had even worked. It seemed that going to more defensive path was confusing or something to Deli, as they were thinking. Their grin widened, as the spell they cast took affect. She had no idea what the spell had actually done. As she did not have any experience with that kind of magic.
Guess she would have to be the one to start the attack then. She tried fountain, hoping that it would be accurate. Accuracy was something she wasn't the best at. @Deli Round: 2 Attempt: Hit Deli with water Defense: Thick fur Injuries: None |
