Madhukar would try to fix her pumpkin cut again, just finish the carving part in general. It wasn't... the best. A pretty mediocre job. This was not her area of expertise! Madhukar would rather just have it function correctly than look like anything at all.

So it was sliced sloppily, and some seeds were still sticking to it, and there were half-decent slits for eyes and holes for the nostrils. Also, two holes in the sides, awaiting bones. It looked wholly uncomfortable to wear, but not impossible. That was the important thing. Madhukar could worry about it later.

There was more to come.

Next, there was another bone search. This time, Madhukar knew specifically what she wanted to find. She found something almost perfect.

Quickly, Madhukar came back to the pumpkin and started trying to fit things together. It was working... better than expected honestly. Madhukar felt a little proud, a little happy. She only hoped nothing would come to distract her, break her focus, or... ruin her entire operation...

Always one eye peeled, always one stray darting around at certain wavering intervals. Just in case. Just to be sure. Just to be on the lookout.

Another bone run was in order. Not the most fruitful one, mind you, but one with intention and vigor. The more into this Madhukar got, the more capable she felt, the more weight lifted from her back. Distracted and fed spoon fulls of satisfaction at a steady pace, Madhukar had no reason to stop until it was completed. And then, maybe after that, she'd start another project, and then another-- 'It won't work like that, you obviously know.' Well, yeah, but it was nice to think about. Time alone, after everything was realigned. Time to not only breathe, but do. To get the hang of piloting this form until, like her magic, she finally felt like it was truly hers again.

The felinoid came back with a few more things, carried in her jaws and between two paws. She hadn't figured out how to feel comfortable doing anything but the feline movements. A pity, but not necessarily an obstacle.

She would continue to work and rework.

Now came the rest. Another reworking, as if putting the design back into its chrysalis. She was just laying it all out now, trying to get a sense for what would be. And it was still a disaster! But gosh darn, chaos had never been this fun for her. Addictive, addictive Madhukar was finding it to be, craving more and more of the freedom and the pulse, the energy that made her hair rise a little bit. Another familiar sensation. Madhukar began to purr -- softly, softer than a mouse's pawstep.

It wasn't turning out the way she would have liked, but something had convinced her to be soft. She would make a few final edits, until she could consider the disguise plan alright, and then she would give into the exhaustion welling inside of her.

Her design wasn't great. It didn't have to be, she could fix it now. Next came the true intention: was her vision a good disguise? It was an improper, homemade costume, and therefore adjustable and adaptable. But she wanted to make sure her vision was clear, so she began to really rack the creative part of her brain.

The good ideas were overflowing. YES! YESSSSS!!!! This was the exhilaration, the rush of joy from the cause! YES! WOOOOHOO!

She would be hidden well in this disguise in her mind; not the best looking, but certain the best at not being recognized against her will. Ha-HA! Alright. OKAY! Now, was it time to... nap? She could hide in a bone pile -- with ease, in fact.

Madhukar was going to do that now. Take a nap. In a bone pile. Covered, and happy, and feeling just a little bit better about... all of it.
