James looked down at Comet and offered a smile, but sighed softly. He himself knew that once someone died, their stone wouldn't be the same. Proven by the stone he'd revived to become Pegasus. A stranger, once, but was now his beloved son. Once life was over, there was no having it back.

"A new life," he sighed softly, "So not even the shape will be passed on."

But it was what it was. Whoever the creature had been had somehow managed to be killed and their magic ripped out by the Spire, and if he were honest with himself, he thought them a bit of a fool. Though he would be a hypocrite, seeing as he'd tried to talk to it himself.

"It's your choice, Comet," he said.
