RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Attikias - Jan 21 2021 Attikias lifted one leg and propped it on the table, one arm resting on the knee. His other held a bead- one of the less fortunately shaped ones- and rolled it in his fingers, looking.
He perked as Carja tried again. He offered that hand to Carja again, encouragingly nodding a bit more enthusiastically. He shrugged, holding up the hand that held the bead as he fiddled with it. Casually, trying not to strain himself, Attikias flowed his magic into the item and tried to imagine it as glue almost, imagine it almost like that dye spell he'd learned so long ago. He could feel his fingers tingling, but nothing happened- the magic wasn't enough and pulled back, and he let his hand down with a faint sigh. Of course it'd take several tries for this one, too. @Carja RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Comet - Jan 24 2021
After receiving some encouragement from Attikias and James, she took a deep breath and tried again. Hopefully she wouldn't have as bad luck as Carja was having. That was the problem with magic, sometimes no matter how good you were at it, it wouldn't work.
This time, however, she gave the magic a hard push, and it flowed into the bead, completing the first step of the enchantment process. Great! Now she just had to put water breathing into it and it should work! Or maybe Carja could do it? Comet was very excited. @James @Attikias RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - James - Jan 24 2021
RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Carja - Jan 24 2021 Carja shuffled and stared down at the ring, eyes narrowed. She was growing more and more frustrated and it showed, unfortunately. She shuffled her wings and inhaled, trying again. Finally she thrust her head forward, the ring taking the magic, James' enchantment imbuing it into the metal itself. It would need to be buffed out to be shiny and pretty, but it had worked. She looked over at Attikias with a grin, tail wiggling behind her as she tossed her head and clapped her paws in glee. RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Dragon - Jan 25 2021 The alligator arrived a little after they had gotten started, his slow walk slowed further by the twisted, lame hind limb. His head was high, craning from his low perspective to try and see what it was, exactly, that they were working with--and working on. "Do you still need my magic? The water-breathing-?" he asked. He wished that he knew how to 'enchant' things, himself; he'd have liked to be able to join them beneath the waves, to see for himself what it was that was happening. But at least he could offer this, in return for observing, for now. Dragon settled a few yards away, lowering himself flat again to the pleasantly warm rock, watching the smaller crowd (seemingly familiar with one another) busy at work. RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Tahi-shei - Jan 26 2021 Tahi-shei was arriving now, after his detour. "Hello! Apologies, I had-- well, I had questions," he admitted sheepishly. Tahi looked instinctively towards James, sticking out like a beacon whereas everyone else was viewed in negative space. "I can enchant, although I know nothing of the other magic. Do we have something I could cast it on?" He had ideas, of course, if they didn't... but he didn't really want to give up his things. He couldn't see the objects he'd retrieved from Ursa anymore, but he knew they were pretty, and he didn't really want to part with them. (It would probably do him well to not mention them to Master Vargas, though.) He looked down to a familiar shape with an unfamiliar voice, and flinched. Nausea roiled through him at Dragon's presence, and he edged closer to James. It probably looked rude, or perhaps just prey-like, but in Tahi's mind it was for the alligator's safety rather than his own. @james @comet @carja @dragon @attikias RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Attikias - Jan 26 2021 He shook his head, scooting back an inch or so on his perch. It seemed like others had begun to get it, and he gace a hearty thumbs up and a grin to Carja at her excitement. RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Comet - Jan 27 2021
Many others were arriving, to help them enchant the beads. She had already successfully cast the spell to get the enchantment in, and she wasn't sure if she would be able to enchant another bead. Comet wasn't going to risk it. She didn't involve herself in the talk of the others, although she make note of Tahi arriving, and Dragon offering to cast the water breathing spell. Well, she would try to finish up this one bead. If it doesn't work perhaps Dragon could try.
The magic was weak, but it worked. She could feel it sink into the bead. @James RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - James - Jan 27 2021
RE: [The Black City] Enchanting - Carja - Jan 27 2021 Carja clapped as Comet got her spell too, leaning forward to peer at the bead, She was a water and ice dragon! With a bit of fire mixed in, of course! Briefly she looked over at Dragon, James, and Tahi, noticing the latter's discomfort. She approached and tapped him on the shoulder. She reached over to Attikias and whuffed at his hair before picking up a bead and holding it out to Tahi-shei. Out of some form of mercy from the universe, the magic appeared, ready for Tahi's portion of the process. |
