RE: THEIR DESIGN, IGNITED - Khavur - Mar 01 2021
The sickening crack sizzled in the air like steak on a griddle. Hot rocks popped in the air, simmering acid, blotches of the pain falling onto Khavur's face, buried deep into her chest -- exuberant. The Labradorite making quips and dodging was far less exciting. Quiet now? The supposed taunt bounced off steely armor. The shouting, the pleading, GOODNESS-- not even Khavur yowled this much in a fight. STOP! What are you... but the rest got soaked up in the cotton stuffed in Khavur's ears. Two venomous pair of eyes fell on the Labradorite. "SHUT UP AND MAKE ME," she spat.
Khavur would once again approach, striding fast, quickly breaking into a run. It would let go at a certain point, if it were to get close enough, and throw its body weight against the Labradorite. Two thousand pounds up against a metric ton? Not that impactful, but for the approximately seven hundred weight caught between an immovable wall, it had to mean something. And what was the Labradorite going to do about it? Nothing, probably. Current Level: Fledgeling Round: 3/? Attempt: Body slam Lab into Zoi, possibly pressing Zoi further into the wall... Defense: Just physical passive ones like armored plates and quills. RE: THEIR DESIGN, IGNITED - Zoey - Mar 01 2021 Content Warning This post contains potentially sensitive material: death violence gore V-Zoisite-One was not familiar with the sensation; they had been in scuffles and training, but never a serious fight. The pain that blossomed from their side made them think of squealing rats, desperate to escape from talons Their carapace had been broken just behind their first shoulder, the plating cracked from the sheer force of the blow. Toxic yellow Labradorite stepped over them, black sludge dripping over the Zoisite's injured form. Did any of their quills end up embedded in the oily beast? Had they done more harm than good, being Khavur roared, throwing herself forward. All six limbs of the Zoisite clawed into the earth with desperation. It scrambled, belly scrapping the stone and tearing loose a few quills in the process. It, an insect frantic to avoid being squashed. It, nothing more than an injured beast. The zoisite scrambled away with all the speed of a frightened, worthless bug. A wounded deer. More and more fragments of mirrors seemed to circumscribe the Reaver, driving her ever deeper into madness. It was good, good that she had reduced the zoisite to its basics -- good for her. But what about it? Escaping now, living on now, would it remain cracked and scarred by this experience forever? In the moment of wild fury, had Khavur made an impression that destroyed all that plated armor of promise, left them naked as a writhing worm?
NO. Khavur would not allow it. Khavur would never allow such weakness, especially where capability lay dormant. She would return and build the zoisite up -- yes! She would purge its weaknesses now, and later return, to create! And in time, there, and only there would be Vargas' rotten holy grail -- perfection. For now it had to reduce the labradorite. Either draw out that rage and use it or exhaust it entirely. SLAM! The wall was reached regardless. Now Khavur was focused on one target, perhaps foolishly certain of the other's insignificance. One last thought before she continued her effort here. With her large-horned head, Khavur would lean closer the labradorite's face and offer a scathing whisper, a private response to the its pitiful argument from earlier: "If that were true -- if you were strong -- then you wouldn't be here." Pressed up against a wall by its own, somewhat smaller kin. Pent up in Draco like a lion in a cage. Forever bound to Vargas' circus of monsters, to a purpose, to a life. If freedom came from strength, then they all really were made of worms. Right there. Frozen up solid. It might have been a shocking display. Only one creature in the caves could turn fire into ice in mere moments. Frozen, and yet still burning... Khavur had to make a choice. Its head was still-- Her-- it... Head was still ablaze. Thoughts passing, one after a million others, caterwauling, bombardment. Somehow, the Zoisite had pulled itself free, quills rattling noisily as it whirled, throwing its head up. A line of warning yellow eyes stared, wide, at Khavur's massive, thrashing form shoving Labradorite further into the wall. The brief glance did not give it much information, head swimming with panic and fury. But, saliva spitting from its mouth as its breath shook its carapace, it locked itself in place, talons digging down. Khavur's back stood over a oil smear in the dark voidlight, pelt a blinding target in its vision. The only thought that came to it was a mechanical calculation. This, little more than how an ant would analyze pheromones before proceeding. Somewhere in the adrenaline, the Zoisite forgot its pain. Blood continued to dash against the stone, but the sensation of sickness and fear was lost as soon as death did not face it head first. Instead, it lurched forward at Khavur's rear. It scrambled under the tail as it tried to close the distance, quills scrapping the stone, sliding up close and personal. Pincers opened wide, and tail twisted around, as it threw both of its mouths toward Khavur's back legs and tried to find purchase. Blind in more ways than one. The zoisite made an impressively clever move whilst the labradorite remained pinned to a wall. Surprisingly, the Reaver would have to shift her attention now. Khavur could feel the pressure as her back legs, but the sharp pinch and hold of the vice grip was dulled by Khavur's lesser senses. A blessing now in exchange for a curse later. Thick, rough hide had most likely been pierced back there, even if Khavur couldn't entirely feel it now. Would the zoisite really have enough strength to restrain her movement? Or, a more pertinent question, to ride the bucking bronco she was about to become?
Her initial instinct had been incorrect. She would have to analyze the situation later-- how much later? When Chaos-Two was asleep? How could she keep acting like this when they were right there -- she had to get the zoisite off of her first. The labradorite, too, had been reduced. Not to its- their- basics, it seemed, but from bite to bark. How pitiful, to only have words and commands. Even Vargas, lousy as he was, had more than that. But Khavur would not point this out. Not now. Not while Chaos-Two was watching. For a moment, it might have seemed as though Khavur was listening to the labradorite and Chaos-Two. She attempted to relent in her effort to pin the labradorite, and she made no other remark on anyone's ability. This mentality, were it possessed or thought by any witness, would swiftly be squashed. Khavur would attempt to put her weight into her front and buck her back legs, kicking them up and slamming them down with as much force as she could muster. Current Level: Fledgeling Round: 5/? Mandibles latched on to limbs. Had Khavur not been created by Vargas himself, the sheer force of its jaws would've sliced straight through muscle and bone alike. The spur-like spines on the back limbs helped prevent it from immediately exacting all that force, but the taste of cherry would do little to remind Zoisite of its sense. Instead, there was a blur of movement. Pincers reacted by tightening and crushing, all force that could be mustered focused into those two areas. Limbs found themselves freed from holding weight, instead sent into the air, and talons scrambled to hook into flesh and keep hold. The Zoisite ended up practically curling underneath Khavur's hind limbs, belly up and quills erect, bristling to catch in wherever they could. The worm held fast, and tried to strangle whatever it had a hold of and and then -- -- Gravity and musculature combined slammed the Zoisite into the stone. There were no thoughts to be flung from its head, but the sensation of pain spread as quills broke free from their bases and carapace threatened to give way further. No matter.
