RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - V-Labradorite-One - Jun 10 2021 I'd of blown the scoundrel upWatch his head and heart hiccupErupt in tinsel and blue cinders turn August into winter
It's attack didn't work in the slightest. It's teeth and claws had barely managed to leave a mark, much less cling to the gigantic squid. Frustration made it's lips curl, and this only worsened with the sickness in it's gut, the dizziness in it's head. BATTLE REPORT 80%
ATTEMPT: GO FOR THE EYES
DEFENSE: Slime?? arm spikes ig? INJURIES: Diseased, delirious, battered by the Kraken RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Attikias - Jun 10 2021 Attikias's head pounded as he struggled to focus, blinking hard and shaking his head. There was so much going on, and his senses were full as static played in his mind. He could see just glimpses of the tentacles in his light, and his heart leapt to his throat, panic screaming over that static in his head.
Letting out a mental yelp, Attikias shoved down into the spikes by the ground, trying to twist himself in as much as he could. He whipped out the enchanted stone knife he held, holding it before him in case the kraken managed to slip through the spikes, and he hoped it could do some kind of damage against any attack. If it could reach him. BATTLE REPORT 70% ATTEMPT: Hide in the spikes
DEFENSE: Titanium-dyed armor, holding up the knife in case the kraken reaches him INJURIES: Diseased RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Fahl - Jun 10 2021
The true extent of his illness did not immediately make itself known beyond the slightly reduced vision and the squirming of his insides. Effects were gradual, the new ones introduced trivial at first as he rushed by and sank his claws into danger: a smoldering began in the folds of the brain, phantom lights twinkled in his periphery, and the edges of underwater waves seemed sharp and defined even in the dark. Following the Kraken's injury, these worsened, fever at last taking him as the metallic scent of blood flooded his nostrils. A mental stew rose to a boil, heat enveloping skull and travelling down vertebrae. The glint of waves transformed into an endless wall of whirlpools, portals that led into the void and promised no way out. He could barely glimpse his intended destination now, the ice spikes slim and wavering between the black spots that clouded his sight. RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Garnet-Epsilon - Jun 10 2021 Nothing is real anymore. Other than the pain lancing up their body, the pulsing heat in their head, nothing is real. They haven't dealt with being sick before, and hallucinations are also new. So, they're terrified, and that's an gross understatement for them right now. Mental noise, words that aren't there have their ears flickering up and out, whole body tensing and lashing left and right as they try to see what's what. A mild acknowledgement of Fahl's calling out for a partner, they don't really know if it's aimed at them or not, but they know only one thing right now- whatever they got, they can't do anything about. Maybe another Gembound can make use of the opening they might leave, or hopefully, if worst comes to worst... someone can recover their gem. But this overgrown beast needs to die, and so they remain where they'd placed themselves among it's tentacles and chaos, pursuing what they feel is the largest motion they can feel with all their other senses being out of wack. With a desperate pull, they grab a feeling of magic they haven't touched in ages, one that has no defined alignment within their skills, and they cast it at the beast. RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Electrum - Jun 10 2021 His own magic had, in fact, turned on him like he'd expected, and he has a small thought of it being entirely internal as he tries to test how harshly his muscles are locked. Completely locked, he's a sitting, glowing target now. At the worst possible time. Not for his own safety, no, but he can hear the distress from Haven, her clicking and calling as she tries to sound out what's there, what isn't, the sonic clicking registering in his inner ear and jaw, Telesto's panic as he tracks her baubles across the cave. Seems he's not the only one hallucinating heavily from what he can barely tell, but... nothing feels right. His scales are crawling, the dark is yawning, familiar and hypnotic flashes of light in the corners of his eyes remind him of that blasted lizard from back when he and Haven claimed their home. His magic curls on instinct, crackling along his horns and jaw, before he lances out the Bolt at the largest, darkest writhing mass. But then, silver streaks towards him, a shape he's both glad to see moving and terrified to see coming towards him. Telesto- NO! Keep away from me, defend yourself and your mother! RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Blight - Jun 10 2021 The sudden chaos of the Kraken's attack left Blight in utter dismay. He tried to coil back, then realized he'd not be quick enough; there was no point in trying to evade. He could, however, still strike--even as tentacles lashed him, pummeled him, dragon-sized or not. Nothing came, however: the magic flickered and petered out. Nothing. Shit, he thought, and then a tentacle was rushing toward his face. RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Dragon - Jun 10 2021 Dragon was in a good position to get away. Not a literal position--he was smack-bang in the middle of the pack, floating there in the dark. But his body, his form, could again serve him well--if his reflexes were good. If his luck held. When the tentacles came lashing forward, he curled as best he could, ridged tail lashing to shove him out of the way. Once again it was a near thing, the sensation of mass rushing past him just behind, the pull of the sudden vacuum-current dragging him back a bit. But he didn't get hit, and he curved, jaw agape, as it passed--too close!--ready to attempt another strike. RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Beast - Jun 10 2021 And then there was chaos. RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Maw - Jun 10 2021 Madhukar decided to watch the battle scene, just to see how things were going. And oh my how they were going. Lots of people whaling on it (including an actual whale!) all at once make it difficult to see the fine details of what was happening, but what stuck out most to Madhukar was a peculiar arc of black lightning racing through the waters. Lightning. Lightning. Heck yes. All at once, the Kraken whirled and flailed. They'd done good enough to put it in a panic, and all without needing to call for a healer! Good for them! But, until that Kraken was as good as seafood, its weakened, angered state only meant the stakes were higher; the strikes would come down with enough force to kill. This should be, to most people, a good sign to stay back, stay safe, or get out of the way. Madhukar approached. You see, she now had confirmation that magic like hers WORKED down here! And hers was long distance anyways, maybe she could stay far enough to be out of the Kraken's range. Plus, now that she knew lightning worked down here, she knew anything foolish enough to touch her was liable to be electrocuted to a crisp! She was curious. If lightning worked... what else of hers? Was it finally time to cast aside her sheep's clothing, the false role of a healer? Gosh, she hoped so. Madhukar didn't like being useless. So Madhukar entered the room and swam forth, trying not to get too close. She was gonna try something while people were clearing the area. Might be dangerous. If it didn't work? She could try her own lightning. If she got hit? ...The solution was also lightning. Anyways: concentrate... breathe... launch! KA-BOOM. Madhukar said via the Pattylink: "Gonna try something." RE: [Quest] The Black City - Part III - Kaimana - Jun 10 2021 First: the exact scenario Kaimana had wanted to avoid was now happening. Second: the sickness was starting to set in. Third: the person she had just given her regeneration pouch to was now charging back in recklessly, now liable to get hit and chrysalize, which meant her offering was a tactical waste. ...Ah man. Well! At least there were many giant circles in the water! That was... that was.... a hallucination, shoot, is Kaimana seeing things? Is that a tentacle coming for all of them-- oh boy, time to move! Fourth: not fast enough. Ah man! Text. Kaimana said nothing via the Pattylink. |
