RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Rue - Mar 12 2023

Among the members of the Forge, Rue was probably among the ones most looking forward to war. The idea of combat, of burning heretics to ash, was a delightful image in their mind. So they yipped and yapped and laughed all the way from Draco to Leo.

As others charged forward into the battle, Rue looked around, scanning the beach. So much white, too icky and clean and boring. They finally landed on Scorn, the boar shaped drone seeming a nice enough target to destroy.

They summoned their black fire, their innate corruption, and willed it obey. Flames erupted from the sand, under Scorn's feet.

@Scorn

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Dread - Mar 12 2023

It was the shapes along the beach that alerted him--not the pale ones, which from a distance, blended too well with the sands, but rather the huge, dark lurking ones.

Dread's ember eyes narrowed, and he rapidly took the last wing-walking step or two to the edge of the sea stack before launching himself into flight. Wings snapped out for an instant, leather billowing, as he coursed out over it--and saw two groups clashing on the shore.

Saw Vargas clashing on the shore.

Normally he did not care who came to Leo--but Vargas? He was enemy. And this--whatever this was--was an asssault.

At once he emitted a deafening shriek-roar, folding his wings halfway to his body to plummet downward, then flaring them out to steady himself into a coasting glide lengthwise above the combatants. He was still a good ways up, but he reached for his magic as he bellowed his threats. "THIS IS MY CAVE!" he roared: "GET OUT!"

He called upon the strongest magic he had: the shimmering burst of heat around him coalescing, becoming a wildfire that ignited in cascades of fireballs plummeting down into the sand. They smashed into the beach, ignited old wood along the treeline, and hissed into the surf--Dread, wings pumping overhead, gave little attempt to try and control the rampant devastation.

Anyone unwary could be caught in his torrents of flame.

everyone obviously does not have to roll against Dread's rain of fire, but if you're on the beach and roll a fail for an attack feel free to use it as an excuse for a miss, etc.!

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Draconua - Mar 12 2023

That glittering, protective shield is like a lure in the depths— and Draconua bears all the teeth of a ravenous predator that'd seek it out. Vargas had promised her blood in marching upon Leo, and blood she would seek, even in Order.

A haunting miasma splays at her sides as she gallops down the beach. It forms, at first, little but a cape; but, it swells and grows into an expanse vast enough to lift the walking nightmare into the air. Fire erupts beneath her as a bellowing shriek-cackle breaks free of her spreading, widening maw.

She climbs and climbs, and then she dives for the armored dragon soaring above the arena. Though it would be fortunate to slot her jaws around its neck at first contact, her focus is entirely upon simply bringing her down to the ground with her sheer weight.

After all, one cannot focus on magic in every direction.

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Bone - Mar 12 2023

The sleek black shape was not one she would have seen, had Mother's whispering spies not been ever-vigilant. Her head snapped up, pale eye seeking the skies above her, finding Draconua's immensely terrifyingly large form plummeting straight for her.

A snarl of fury broke past her jaws, her own wings folding and angling so that she slid out of reach at the last instant--and she wheeled, the snarl turning into a full-throated, bellowing roar. She plunged for Draconua in turn, Mother's ferocity driving her.

Very little of Bone was left. What was there was the motherly instinct to protect her family--which, no longer, were the other dragons to whose presence she seemed oddly blinded. No--it was Order she would guard, and this beast--this rot-slicked, ravening monster--was very clearly public enemy number one.

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Bone - Mar 12 2023

Bone was not the most agile, and it took her a moment of angling to bring herself back to the monstrous Valkhound: her jaws snapped open, gaze igniting with rage, as she called upon the hot magic in her chest.

Some instinct--no, some knowledge, Mother-granted--roared triumph in her mind: the Oil slicked over the Valkhound's hide was flammable, a kindling begging for her spark. The heat built, built, and then exploded from her jaws in a flamethrower blast, coursing for Draconua's silhouette, a black smudge against the bright light of Leo.

"BEEAAAST!" she roared, and the words were only half her own. "YOUR KIND IS A STAIN UPON EXISTENCE! WE WILL BURN IT OUT!"

@Draconua

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Azrael - Mar 12 2023

Azrael stormed into Leo behind the rest of the Forge, all six eyes burning with hatred and a thirst for destroying the Hive. He had been looking forward to this - his whole purpose for joining Vargas's troupe of monsters was to get a chance to strike back. So as soon as he heard Vargas bark the command to fight, he flew in, quite literally, without hesitation.

A roar loud enough to ripple the surface of the bay and he launched himself forward, wings carrying him forward. He looked up, spotting the shapes flying above - he couldn't reach them, unfortunately, not truly capable of flight, but he was high enough to soar over the heads of most of the valkhounds to set himself down right in the middle of what was about to become a battleground.

"MOTHER," he roared. "REMEMBER ME?! YOU SHALL BURN FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME!!" The first of the drones he set his eyes on, then...the tank. The big one. With spikes and claws, barely looking like a thinking, intelligent being. His lip curled in disgust. What were this twisted creations she was desecrating the caves with?

With another roar, he opened his jaws and blasted fire at Juggernaut. Burn it, burn it to ash! Destroy Mother and the Hive and all of Order with demonfire!!

@Juggernaut

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Cadenza - Mar 12 2023

Cadenza froze as the sight of violence came into their still distant view. It was horrific. There was yelling they could not decipher, and they did not want to hear or see any of this. They had no idea who was fighting who. But, they thought they saw at least one dragon and fire. Their family was likely fighting, and that scared them.

The idea of fighting as well did not even occur to them. Violence was repugnant to Cadenza. They never wanted to fight. But, they very much hoped their family would be alright.

Cadenza escaped before the violence could affect them more than it already had.

[Exit Cadenza]

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Azrael - Mar 12 2023

As flame poured from his jaws, the light from his own flame blinded him to any other danger that may be coming his way. Including, well...fire raining down from the sky.

His spell was cut off as searing heat slammed into the side of his head, sending him reeling back and clutching at the burn with a roar of pain and anger. Fury raged through him, tail lashing behind him as he glared through his fingers to see who was raining fucking FIREBALLS on the battle.

A DRAGON?! And one he knew! Fuck, from the fight against Mother. "WE ARE NOT YOUR ENEMY!" he roared towards Dread, although if the dragon could hear him over the din of battle was unclear.

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - Glory - Mar 12 2023

Screams and roars made Glory stop midair, almost falling right out of the sky. He turned, seeing the familiar black form of Dread diving towards a group on the beach. A group of...wow, what the hell? All kinds of strange beasts and monsters - the gemstones that he had noticed before! And, just like that, the battle was beginning.

"WHAT?!" he screeched, diverting his path and diving towards the battle. Dread was fighting (or, really, raining fire upon the hapless gembound below) so Glory would fight too! Whatever the battle, he would fight with his friend! He roared above the dragon, managing to arrive once the fireballs had fallen, and screeched out, "DREAD! WHO IS THE ENEMY?!"

He looked down again. He...didn't recognize any of them. At least, not on immediate sight. But most of them were horrid looking beasts, monsters of shadow and dark colors, dripping oil, against strange bug-like things of white and red.

Well, if Dread was attacking them all, then he would too! A might sweep of his wings, infused with magic of the sky, and the wind was changing, a small tornado sweeping forward after the fireballs had fallen to any of the smaller creatures lurking on the beach.

He's just yeeting wind at everyone on the beach

RE: [Order vs Chaos] THE SIEGE - The Warden - Mar 12 2023

The Warden rode in behind the Sentinel, a gleeful grin upon its monstrous face. It gripped the hilt of Lightning tight in its hands, eager to start swinging it, feel flesh rending beneath its blade. Oil like drool dripped from its many teeth as it burst into the light of Leo. Pupil-less eyes flashed at the sight of the drones and the battle already beginning, eager already to see blood spilling, to see the Forge crush this enemy.

He saw the Sentinel making a beeline for one of the huge white shapes and The Warden followed suite. The Sentinel was the better fighter, by far, but it knew that he wouldn't be able to see well in this bright light. So they'd assist, as best they could. And maybe get some glory for themselves!

Raising the blade of their glaive, The Warden charged in with a gleeful cry and began slashing at Orthus's hide, each strike of the blade sending bright flashes in the direction of the drone. Hopefully, it wouldn't affect The Sentinel too much, but it figured that he couldn't really see anyways. He wouldn't mind.
