Well that had been a disaster. Ravage stood half-over Tourmaline, frantic and unable to do anything for her which only increased his half-panic. "Shit, shit, shit, are you okay? Uhh--do you want me to carry you to water?" he suggested, with horror and inspiration both. Surely that'd be best? He could scoop her up in his jaws--gently--and rush off to the nearest pool?!

The stench of burned fur was clogging his nose. Her howl of pain still rang in his ears.

This was another trauma to add to his horrified memories, and make no mistake. This poor damn cat, he thought.

"Okay. Okay. Just a second," Ravage said, eyes wide and teeth gritted. He turned, and maybe another Gembound might not have noticed the mold coating him but his mom was pretty much a fungal vector and-... well, he did.

"-Fuck. Sorry-" The apology seemed to be for the swear, despite his previous language and the situation, as he glanced concernedly Tourmaline's way. He looked back over himself with a grimace and tried to call up fire of his own to flash-burn the spores away. A brief ripple of green flame gave him exactly nothing of the sort, sputtering out before it could be useful, and he huffed loudly, nerves on full display.

"I have to carry you. Lemme just-... Trust me," he added, his tone urgent and apologetic both. Then he paced swiftly over, trying to gently lift Tourmaline by the neck and head, the way a mother dog or cat might. It was careful, with a few readjustments before he settled on a grip. Then it was up and off to the nearest puddle, if she allowed it, with an awkward gait somewhere between a hasty run and an even stride, so as not to jostle poor Tourmaline any further.
