RE: Absolution? - V-Ruby-One - Apr 09 2025 Content Warning
This post contains potentially sensitive material: Suicidal Themes Maybe that was just all V-Ruby-One wanted. To die. It was with relief that it breathed its last as the claws came down to end its life at last, but as the hand smashed against its head, that beast that had been choking moments before roared to life in the face of oblivion. Too defeated to resist the beast, V-Ruby-One lay helpless, fading, as the corrupted ruby shot across its body, cradling it in red crystal and oil. It was granted the mercy of unconsciousness. It would not be granted the mercy of death. *exit RE: Absolution? - Game Master Dark - Apr 09 2025 The pulse of nightmares never left it.
It was as though something watched, deep in the dark beyond their chrysalis. Watched, indifferent and so immensely powerful as to be beyond comprehension. And, partway through the shifting dreams of war and blood, the vast tide of power began to... recede. It was not necessarily a good thing. This force was weaker. Weakened. Its grip on Helion had slipped, or been slipped. But the removal of this pressure that had borne down on it for so long... well, one sees what happens when a fish is dragged up from the depths without time to acclimate. Its power, already Chaos, slowly grew less stable and without the consciousness to seek out this stability, Helion was left with an element that had become nearly uncontrollable. Its power had waned immensely, but at times it was nearly normal, and other times gone completely. The visions, once it woke, would come and go with dizzying unpredictability. It would be... difficult, to say the least; but instinct would drive it to the Black Spire, or another source, to calm itself. Worse was what other touches of Chaos it would awake with. Once it emerged from its chrysalis, it would find that the corruption had truly claimed it. The larger, upper limb on its right side. The large upper arm on the left. The smaller arm, too, was wholly taken over. And the leg on that side-... Its entire left side, consumed by one of its own spells. Profaned Creature. The tentacles had grown, had taken on a mind of their own, had consumed these limbs, leaving it with only one usable arm, one leg--both on the right side--and a tail to use to maneuver. The rest-? Gone-... No, not gone. Encased, by twisting, Oily tentacles, unusable so long as they remained trapped within these growths. Attempts to remove them will injure Helion itself, and the tentacle-flesh will regrow, only fading as Helion approaches the final days of its re-stabilization. It had fallen to Chaos, and the Chaos had risen up to claim it. V-Ruby-One has chrysalized away from a source of Corruption.
It will need to stabilize for 30 points of Corruption, a total of 5 points per real-life (and in-game) day. For the duration, its magical power has been reduced to Fledgling level, and its upper right arm along with all three limbs on its left side have been encased by Profaned Creature-like tentacle-flesh. When Helion has fully stabilized, links to each stabilization post should be posted in Update Me with a request to be returned to Pupil magic level. At this point, the weakening Profaned Creature limbs will wither and drop off. @V-Ruby-One RE: Absolution? - Esther - Apr 09 2025
