Macawi’s tail wagged a mile a minute as she snuggled up against her Big Pig friend. He seemed exceedingly happy to see her, and for that, she was grateful. Not everyone had as good a memory as she did, so not everyone remembered her upon a second meeting. Of course, her memory only went so far. There was no doubt she would forget everyone here whom she had not spoken to, but she did remember all those with whom she had shared a conversation. The giant lizard in front of her spoke some more about things she didn’t understand. This is what she got for coming to a meeting full of strangers.

Oh, what was this? Everyone was leaving now to go hunting? Hmm. Well, all right then! Macawi was on the figurative fence about whether to go hunting or not. She loved a challenge, but hunting by herself seemed a very boring thing to do… When did she become so attached to other Gembounds, anyways? Wasn’t she a nomad? If so, why did she remember people so easily, and make friends just as easily? These were not the traits of a nomad. She shrugged and gave Czernobog a friendly lick as a goodbye, before turning and trotting away. She would attempt to find an easier way to cross this swamp than the way she had come. She was too short and tiny to be throwing herself into flowing water like that too often.
