RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Diot - Dec 14 2015 There had been just enough water left over to drive the poor tamarin straight into the currents again. Until an unknown gembound assisted Diot. Saving him from certain drowning. Everything had happened so fast he was now beside his rather furious and worried father. Whom was surprisingly pushing the young gembound up on the neighboring komodo dragon's back. Booker had thanked Eve, and all Diot could do was give a little nod. For as soon as his father finished his thankful words, the young tamarin got an earful! Though Booker was in the right, this was no place for a young gembound, let alone one Diot's size. But he had missed his father so much, worried for him even. Now that he was beside him well, he would gladly take what ever punishment came his way. The furious father continued to speak, smoothing down Diot's frizzing fur all the while. Finally the lecture was over. Diot was sure many of the gembound weren't paying attention...well...with how loud Booker was they probably tried to tune out the small passionate numbat. "I understand...I just didn't want anything bad to happen to you..." Booker's arm looped through one of his own, and the young tamarin's tail wrapped around the dear numbat. They were ready now! Seated atop the SS.Water Lizard ready to explore a tunnel unknown!
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Game Master Madison - Dec 26 2015 Another great, cold surge of water rips through the tunnel. The surge lasts for five seconds and is powerful enough to sweep characters off of their paws, rising up to three feet deep from the floor of the tunnel. Characters will have to roll Other to prevent losing their footing. @Booker @Arkrael @Cadence @Diot @Kerberos @Eve RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Ghanyarah - Dec 26 2015 Before long, Ghanyarah had an entire party of small animals riding on his back as he made his way into the new tunnel. It looked a lot like the rest of the tunnel, only it was slightly smaller, and it wasn't made of as much ice and snow as the original one. No, the ice that lined the walls and the snow that layered the ground wasn't so present here. Maybe there were glossy coats of ice near the roof of it and small icicles that had accrued above, but that was it. He had to wonder how often it was that the water came rushing through here, and why he had never realized there must be another tunnel. Then again, the water surges hadn't been happening until recently. There was a great pool of water in the center of the tunnel, at its deepest, that hadn't been there before. Something strange must have been happening here. He half heartedly listened to the conversation of the numbat, the tamarin and the crow. Booker scolded the monkey for having left the safety of where ever it was that they lived, and the monkey only replied that he was worried, but Ghanyarah shrugged it off. He extended no such empathy towards them. Most of his attention lingered on Eve, as she was actually relevant to him as a member of the same group as he. Another segment of his attention drifted back to the mammals, and Ghanyarah actually turned his head to seek out Arkrael, only to find that they were being tailed by a completely new creature - a three headed dog - wait, he recognized that one! Wasn't he back in Canis, the one he called stupid? Yeah. Hahaha. Ghanyarah laughed inwardly, wondering if the big dummy would try anything while the lot of them were exploring the tunnel. He doubted it. When a great rumble began to emanate from further ahead, Ghanyarah stopped and fixed his eyes on the throat of the tunnel. In an instant, a wave of water had roared up and came churning towards them. Ghanyarah widened his eyes and steeled his body for the impact, hoping that he could stand against the water again. Post-Roll Edit: "AHHGHGHGHGRBGRBL" The reptile sputtered as a wave of water washed over him, far too fast and far too powerful for him to withstand. The force swept under his feet and carried him a few feet back, and Ghanyarah struggled to catch the ground again while keeping the trio on his back safe from the water. The surge died down, leaving him stranded next to Arkrael as he sputtered and huffed, gripping the rock with his curved claws. Startled pink eyes turned to those on his back, assessing the damage. @Booker @Diot @Eve you guys will have to roll Other to stay on Ghanyarah's back :P RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Arkrael - Dec 26 2015
With determined paws, Arkrael moved further and further into the cave. Ears stood in alert, twitching with every sound they caught. The chattering of others behind her went unheard as she did not know them and the fact they were not talking to her. It didn't take long before she heard bigger paws moving in behind her and she cast a look over her shoulder and smiled up at Kerberos' three heads. Her tail swayed back and forth for a moment, displaying her pleasure of seeing Kerberos there with her. It wasn't until the caves began to rumble again did Arkrael swing her head back around to search the area. HEr muscles tensed as she saw another rush of water heading right for them and she instantly tried to brace herself for the impact. A grunt escaped her as it soon slammed into her. Her paws stumbled back a bit, almost threatening to give out to the power of the waters, but she was soon able to steady herself against the current and she turned to look at the others. She cast a glance to Kerberos first, making sure he didn't get tripped up. She nearly jumped when she saw Ghanyarah being swept back from the waves and she moved to at least give some assistance to him, but he soon managed to get his footing back and she sighed stepping closer to the reptile. "You alright?" She mused, already expecting him to lash at her with some kind of brazen remark. Of course she would only grin about it. She would make sure everyone else was okay before she continued on. "Speech" 'Thoughts' Words:Words Tags: @Kerberos OoC: RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Eve - Dec 26 2015
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Booker - Dec 26 2015 Sighing, Barnett nudged at Diot's side, a sort of gruff assurance. "It's fine, kiddo. Just don't do it again," he added, turning his head enough to raise an eyebrow at the tamarin. Of course, the tunnel took the moment as its opportunity to half-drown him again, sending another rush of water straight towards them, and the numbat hunkered down, clinging to their boat's rough scales and hoping that Diot would do the same. The wave twisted up and over, sending Ghanyarah twisting, and the adventure quickly became a roller coaster ride. Thankfully, tiny claws dug into the komodo's scaley hide, and Barnett managed to stay on top of their ride, sneezing and coughing up water over Ghanyarah's side. "I am really, really getting tired of the whole water thing," he coughed out, rising up enough to look for Diot. He met the lizard's pink eyes instead, sending him a tired grin. "Well, that went better than expected." Slumping, he tilted his gaze from side to side, flashing Eve a relieved smile before returning to inspecting for his son. @Diot RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Kerberos - Dec 26 2015 There was, perhaps, such a thing as being too big. The water hit him and he stumbled, topheavy front floundering in the water for a moment. He was used to swimming and walking-- but trying to do both sort of at the same time was sort of a difficult thing. He wouldn't drown, thankfully, with his large, diving-built lungs, but still. It didn't stop one of his heads from making a panicked whining whimper at Arkrael, In some ways, Kerberos never stopped being a puppy at heart. i'm ready to start the conquest of spaces RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Diot - Dec 27 2015 Listening to his father he nodded along, agreeing that it wouldn't happen again...at least not any time soon anyway...Once again another torrent of water headed their way! Diot waited sure that they would be fine, this water lizard could swim right? Aparantly he was wrong as the komodo was taken by the water's currents, knocked back a few feet. It was uncanny really the resemblance of struggling to stay afloat no matter what your species was. Luckily with Ghanyarah taking the main force of the impact Diot had no trouble staying on board. Shutting his eyes and preparing to hold his breathe until the lizard came back up for air themselves. Opening one eye at a time they stared into their pink eyes, smiling wide. Looking beside him to see his father who was luckily still happily aboard the SS. Water Lizard.
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Leon - Dec 31 2015 Leon struggled to keep up with Cadence, who seemed more than eager to get to exploring the tunnel. He had to admit, his own curiosity was mounting as they made their way into its depth, the air feeling like it was growing colder and wetter every second. As one of the fire element, Leon was naturally drawn towards heat, warmth and comfort, but having lived most of his life in Pisces, the bear was accustomed to the cold, damp atmosphere. He idly listened to the conversations of the others, which was mostly Booker speaking to the monkey on the back of the water lizard, until the ground had quaked and they caught a glimpse of another surge of water rushing their way. "Cadence! Watch out!" He called to his daughter, preparing to brace himself against the massive, icy wave. ...And failing, as a great force suddenly struck him and took his paws out right from under him. The bear scowled, splashing helplessly in the water while struggling to keep his head above the surface and his eyes on his daughter. He couldn't let her leave his sight, he couldn't let anything happen to her - Makyna would kill him! Well... and he'd probably feel really terrible about it. When the water finally died down, Leon was left with a mouthful of cold wet that he spat out, legs quaking once he was on the ground again. His thick, coarse coat was drenched and heavy with water, sticking close to his skin. "Cadence!" His teeth chattered before he could really realize the sudden weight on his shoulders. Her cheerful voice rang out, and Leon pushed out a sigh of relief, shaking his head. "Okay! Stay close, don't want you to get swept away like that again! Let's go." The bear uttered, half in exasperation and half out of... well, he had to admit, excitement. @Cadence RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! - Cadence - Dec 31 2015 The little cub giggled out loud happily, not realizing how much danger she could be in if she hadn't kept afloat. Then, after a great surge she somehow ended up back with Leon but instead of being beside him she was up on his shoulders. "Wee! Ha ha! That was fun, Papa Bear!" She pet his broad shoulders before pointing forward. "C'mon! Onwards to adventure!" It was fun walking herself but the view on Leon's back was amazing! blargh! Quest! Bleff! Boo! "Talking looks like this!" Thinking looks like this... I hear your heart beat to the beat of the drums, What a shame that you came here with someone...
