RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Gadanai - Jan 14 2016
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Cadence - Jan 17 2016 Cadence watched as everyone put their brains to the task. She did the same, staring down at the apparatus with the utmost confidence. Perhaps... She could do something to help out the elephant. Silently she began to concentrate, one paw raising towards the siphon as she tried to help add extra force to the living pump that was the elephant. RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Diot - Jan 20 2016 Diot stayed there, safety atop the trusty S.S. Water Lizard. Holding onto his dear father who's curiosity seemed to be getting the better of him, promoting a dangerous possibility of falling off. This was especially evident when the komodo swung his head around to glance at the other neighboring gembounds. Holding onto the numbat as if it was for dear life he pulled him back. Wiping a sweat from his brow, and his father said HE was tough keeping safe; pft. But as always curiosity bubbled up more when a few other gembounds trickled in. It nearly burst out in giddy excitement when the young elephant let lose some water into the strange mechanism. This had allowed the door to lower slightly, but curiously close back up again. Diot knew his magic wouldn't be of much help. But perhaps a few encouraging words might? "You can do it! Open up that door! Yeah!"
@Booker RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Tolani - Jan 20 2016 Finding herself under her companion as a safety measure in case the water returned, the black bear lifted her head slightly, just enough to press her snout against the underside of his rib cage, trying to offer some form of comfort despite her own paws starting to tremble, if Sabor was nervous, maybe she should be too. While her ears swiveled about, listening to the sounds of the other, larger gembounds, a spike of fear rose in her chest, causing her breathing to pick up slightly, if the surges of water were strong near the end of the tunnel, what would they be like so close to the door? "Speech" RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Kerberos - Jan 21 2016 Kerberos wanted to help, but he also knew that he was the most likely to be able to stand back and protect anyone who nearly got swept away. He watched, anxiety in his paws, and tried to spread out his weight, getting ready for a crash of water he was sure was about to come. Swallowing, he dug his claws in to the ground and waited for their efforts to make the water come. i'm ready to start the conquest of spaces (the worst post of all time) RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Sabor - Jan 22 2016 Somehow as always Tolani had made way to standing underneath the young tiger. Trembling in her own paws over what mystery awaited them and the others who had gathered. Listening intently to Totum's words and golden eyes watching the others who seemed to be figuring out the puzzle before them. An elephant was filling it with water...some other gembound was trying to push down on the mechanism...and a small 'someone' who appeared to be riding on the back of a really large lizard was also cheering them on. Sabor wouldn't do anything right now, there was nothing he could do without getting in the way. So he decided to just standing still, ready to brace himself for the enormous torrent of water that could happen at any moment. RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Game Master Madison - Jan 23 2016 The twin shadows, rippling in their misty darkness, watched curiously as the elephant approached the siphon again with another trunk-full of water; from beyond their notice, the grizzlion cub had also used their magic to apply pressure to the siphon in front of the door. As the water forced its way into the narrow funnel, the pressure on the sensor within the siphon pushed an array of invisible mechanics into action, pulling the giant rock slab downward. The door began to lower further and further, unleashing a torrent of water that would come roaring towards the Gembounds. Alarmed by the onslaught of water, Totum rose and flattened themselves against the wall, clutching onto the rock - but in the time that it would have taken for the Gembounds to recover from the wave, the door will have closed again. Your characters must roll Other to withstand the water. @Kerberos @Booker @Diot @Cadence @Arkrael @Jack @Eve @Sabor @Azazel RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Gadanai - Jan 23 2016
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Leon - Jan 23 2016 Leon had remained silent and observant as more and more of the Gembounds began to filter into the end of the tunnel. His gaze flickered over all of those gathered, and he was more than happy to sit back and let everybody else do all the work. Not that he was lazy, just... he had to admit that he wasn't the smartest guy around. And honestly, he had no idea how this weird door thing worked. He had craned his neck to take a look at the mechanism but it boggled his mind. And when the elephant had strode up and sputtered water into the siphon, he was amazed at how it suddenly jerked and opened, splashing them slightly. This was enough to tell him that doing so might cause the door to open more, but it hadn't realized that it would unleash a torrent of water until the elephant had actually done it, and suddenly a roar of cold came crashing down around them. "Hold on, Cadence!" Leon basically threw himself at the wall, rearing up onto his hind legs and using his front paws to clutch the wall. He bared down on the rock and, thankfully, his strength was enough to keep him rooted there instead of being pushed away by the torrent. He just hoped that Cadence had been holding on, otherwise he was ready to grab for her if she slipped. By the time the water had died down, his thick fur had slicked against his body again and he huffed, dropping back onto all fours. "Wow! So it looks like whatever you did worked," The bear panted, looking over to the elephant. "I guess we just need to figure out a way to hold the door open...?" Truth be told, he still didn't understand how the mechanism worked. But maybe there would be a way to secure it in place. @Cadence RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Ghanyarah - Jan 23 2016 Wayward wanderers continued to filter into the tunnel, but Ghanyarah insisted on sticking near the front where he could watch the slow unraveling of the mystery of the door. From upon his back, Diot cheered on the elephant and Ghanyarah felt a surge of excitement as the door groaned and lowered, allowing a splash of water to rise over the top. "Yes, perhaps with more water..." He agreed with Arkrael, glancing to her, then back to the elephant, and finally towards the siphon as she shot more water into the funnel. And sure enough, the door had begun to lower - bringing with it a surge of water. Not that Ghanyarah was particularly surprised, but he had to admit that he wasn't entirely prepared. He braced himself against the surge, ducking his head down to create a streamlined arrow through the oncoming torrent. As the water came, he stiffened - and then he lunged forward, the force of his movement barely enough to counteract the consequential current of the rushing water. He had barely managed to withstand the water, but at least when the surge died down again he had landed just a couple paces back from where he started, and hopefully Priest, Diot and Eve had outlasted the surge on his back as well. @Diot @Booker @Eve |
