RE: Quest: After All This Time - Vega - Jan 03 2017

commotion grew in the caves, closer now, but these voices were different. no one had come any closer, but rather he had come closer to a group of what he believed to be gembounds. the lone wolf shoved down the spark of excitement in his chest--he was probably just hallucinating. something was wrong with him, he'd always known it, and now he was finally starting to break. 6 cycles into the cuckoo's nest.

dull claws scraped across the stone floor of the cave as he made his way over to the source of the sounds, and spotted a group of gembounds huddled together and spread out--a crowd, presumably gathered around the same thing that had attracted him. he sped up his pace.

"hello?" he called out amongst the commotion, the elation of meeting other gembounds overwhelming him. "hello, what's going on? why are you all gathered here?" he spoke, shuffling into the crowd, stepping gingerly around the puppy. he knew why they must've been, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. maybe then he could figure out the source of those voices, and if they were as real as he thought them to be. he raised his head to pay attention to the noises around him.

RE: Quest: After All This Time - Kyorai - Jan 04 2017

Come on out of your dreams

His nonsense of a howl ceased when he heard someone yell. Ears flickered around in wondering where it came from. Wherever it did come from, a growl and a snort sounded from him; a bit upset about the matter. Hearing Septiezal speak of them throwing rocks, perhaps that was what he felt over him a few moments ago. Apparently, these voices stood unfriendly and such made the pup anxious as he could not do much about. Well, all should be fine for the time being, however, the thought was shooed away once he felt Septiezal pull away. To follow along with it was a hiss, bringing a bit of panic. There was a lot going on, but he had not a clue for what it was. Left out from the crowd, Kyorai rolled back onto belly from losing his support earlier and looked the way to where most of the voices were.

Listening in on what was happening now; the telling of fighting and aggression made him jump up quickly to find his way back to his snake friend. It was not long before he bumped into some type of mass, crawling around next to them and laying down. Really, perhaps he should not talk since from what he picked up, majority here were mature. However, the pup did not like the thought of being the speck within this situation; at least try to understand the problem at hand.

Ears twitched along to each statement of others that appeared to want to make peace to whatever made the commotion, nodding along with every one. Mind was still confused, but he would not let it keep him from spouting something. "Why try to fight? What's the real issue right now?" He spoke, tilting his head from wanting to know the base to all of this.

RE: Quest: After All This Time - Game Master Madison - Jan 14 2017

The first to come forward was a wolf, or what looked like a wolf, and Jireedon narrowed all four of his eyes at the canine who somehow strangely resembled the gangly purple one on the ledge but not quite. She was cocky and threatened that it would be wiser for them to back away. What! They couldn't threaten them like that! This was their cave! The bird sneered with disbelief at her arrogance and clicked his beak to speak, but another canine stepped in and spoke of resolution as long as they could avoid violence.

Wait... They thought the three of them were trying to start something? These monsters were the ones running amok!

The fetal creature glanced at the marmoset who tried to calm everyone down. "Yes, can we just stop and discuss this?" He chattered nervously.

The violet canine leaned over the edge, scrutinizing the group as a serpent attempted to calm the situation and told them to disregard the golden wolf. He sniffed superciliously at the group, then flicked his eyes over to the bird. "Listen to the young bloods, you ignorant fool." He scowled.

Another wolf looked confused about the situation, and a young, black dog asked what the purpose was of fighting. "The real issue is Jireedon!" He barked and turned his toxic eyes to the bird. "You know they'd strip your bones clean if they wanted a real fight! A minute out of your rock and you're already trying to play the hero!"

The bird whirled around and looked in the vague direction of the canine. "More than you'd ever do! Harumph!" He answered.

"Please, can't you two just stop for a moment? Look at all the hounds here!" The fetal creature whimpered, shrinking back over the edge.

Jireedon focused back on the group, his tiny eyes unable to focus on just one of them. The large eye, however, sharpened its pupil and fixated acutely on each body before them. "You say you don't want a fight? Then what are you here for?" He asked accusingly.

The canine leaned over further, revealing a secondary set of front limbs that dangled uselessly from his torso. "Are you survivors? How many generations have passed?"

RE: Quest: After All This Time - Kin-Kin - Jan 15 2017

At first, Kin-Kin was about to try again... but to her surprise, none of the weird and in her humble opinion... ugly creatures made a move. Instead, they turned to bickering between themselves again, until they finally seemed to reach some sort of agreement. Kin-Kin rolled her eyes with a dramatic fling of her head and a rush of air from her nostrils.

She stretched her bejeweled foreleg out ahead of her, and slid her crystal blade back into its hold.

"Well, originally I was just here to return home, and look good doing it... the fact that there's so many others here... even you oafs is only an added bonus," she responded to the new- or was it old? Gembounds who peered from the ledge above them. Perhaps being aggressive was a mistake, but her fur was still on end with the adrenaline pounding through her veins, just in case.

It was an offhand question of theirs that made Kin-Kin's adrenaline suddenly give way to curiosity. Generations? Survivors? "How are we meant to know how many generations it's been? Survivors of what?"

RE: Quest: After All This Time - Xireidi - Jan 16 2017

Xireidi relaxed his stance as tensions slowly died down, the raving bird-thing still eying them suspiciously but no longer looking like it was about to open an attack. Kin-Kin likewise had put up her weapon and settled on talking to the group of strange gembound. Hopefully the small group that had gathered here would be able to come to some kind of resolution. It seemed that most were intent on peace, so that was a step in the right direction.

No longer having to worry as much about flying rocks or vicious birds the wolf trailed his gaze up to the creatures on the ledge. Though strange in shape he recognized one as a canine, fairly reasonable personality by the sounds of it. The other one was still a bit of a mystery, however. It didn't seem to match any real species description he had floating in his head.

The unknown ones referred to them as young bloods and spoke of things like generations and survivors, and oddity Kin-Kin was quick to question about. Who were these gembounds?

"I'm not sure about generations, but I've only ever really seen gembounds about a dozen cycles old. Perhaps closer to two for the more ancient ones." He'd been here for all of five of those, with the ages varying wildly from the pup behind him to that strange lizard that had been at Tuck's party.

RE: Quest: After All This Time - Tukluk - Jan 28 2017

To be perfectly honest, Tuck wasn’t even really paying attention anymore. That stupid golden wolf was down there acting like an idiot, and nobody else really seemed to know what was going on. All the marmoset knew was that he should have just left when he’d had the chance. But now he was stuck up here, holding onto this ledge, until everybody backed off and gave him enough space to get down without getting crushed or dying in some stupid fight. Gods. I mean, he’d gotten to the point where he didn’t really care anymore about being tiny, but when there were like fifty Gembounds down there and they seemed to want to fight about something, and he was only five inches tall, then he was inclined to stay in his little safe spot ’til this whole thing blew over or they all killed themselves.

Garmer snorted in annoyance in Tuck’s mind. You’re being ridiculously overdramatic.

Yeah, well. It’s keeping me alive so I think I’m okay with that.

Another annoyed snort was all Tuck got in return. He was aware of being asked something about how many generations… there were? He thought back to his own life, and wanted to say he was four or five cycles, certainly into adulthood by this point, but he didn’t say anything because this whole affair was making him nervous and agitated. So instead he remained quiet, pressed into the cliff wall, waiting…

"Speech looks like this."
"Thoughts looks like this."
This is Garmer.
