RE: Hearthfire - Svartis - May 06 2020 ... and her diving right into the river? The dragon let himself parachute a little closer to the ground, still hovering with a loud whump! whump! whump! of his wings and staring down with concern creasing up his eyes. He wasn't going to be a hypocrite and kick someone while they were down, especially not his own sister. If she wasn't into this play fight anymore, then that was it. A pulse of magicka went off, hoping to maybe offer some alleviating cool to Bone, and he chirped surprisingly quietly, NOT Round 3! @Bone RE: Hearthfire - Bone - May 06 2020
Bone grunted, pulling herself like a drenched cat from the river. She could feel the chill of Svartis' magic, and it sent her from burned to shivering, in combination with the water, very quickly.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," she grumbled--but her speech was just a tad distorted by the burns. She glanced sidelong at the still-smoldering dead tree, crumbling now as nothing but charred ash, and glared at it for its betrayal. Then back to Svartis. "Actually, I kinda learned schomefing. I dunno if you felt it too, I... feel like it's strongest, here? But it's been sort of cropping up on its own," she said. A moment of concentration--Bone soaked and on the ground, now--and her hide seemed to briefly shimmer and flare. She could feel that it had worked, and she glared challengingly up at her brother. "Hit me with efferyfing you got," and the words sort of stumbled over a burnt tongue. "...Ash-hole," she added, in challenge. Round: 3/5 Attempt: Dragonhide Defense: Injuries: @Svartis RE: Hearthfire - Svartis - May 07 2020 Monoceros would warm her up pretty quick, at least - and flapping her burnt tongue (he bit down that chuckle, alright?) Svartis landed, at least - his wings were getting tired just hovering in place - and he waddled forwards with a dog-like tilt to his head. Icy eyes watched as Bone flickered a little bit, but he shook his head, Come and find out, Bone'd basically challenged. If one could hesitate while mustering up a breath of harsh sleet, the black dragon did. Round: 3/5 Attempt: Shoot at that dragonhide?? Defense: Injuries: @Bone RE: Hearthfire - Bone - May 07 2020 The white dragon winced, a little, as ice crackled across her scales. But magicka flared up, her hide glinting and... shedding some of the magic. Not all--not even half, by a long shot. But it was clear that the worst of any real damage would not have had as much an impact as it could have. "Now you tshry," she challenged, reptilian face twisting into something like a grin. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, and she shoved into the air, wings beating. Clawed hands gestured downward--then up--the flames already-present down on the log twisting at her tug. It wasn't the sort of immense fire blast that would truly cause damage, though it might singe if not blocked. But it was definitely enough for an attack, at least in sparring. I'm leaving most of you there, she thought, directly to the flame--but this is good for practice. For both of us. -Burn him a little. Round: 4/5 Attempt: Physically throw fire (and by physically i mean with pyrokinesis from the ground to svartyboy) Defense: Injuries: @Svartis RE: Hearthfire - Svartis - May 07 2020 His turn? Seeing magic cast was one thing - and trying to imitate it when it seemed completely out of your element was another. Especially when it meant getting a glob of fire tossed at you and possibly burning the shit out of you. On one hand, he understood: revenge. On the other, could he have a moment? Bone surely wouldn't injure him too bad, but any bit of flame was too much. The black dragon lifted right wing like a shield, cowering down behind it and shuffling back in preparation to dive for the river. At least it didn't hurt that bad with the addition of... whatever odd magic had just come to the two of them. He winced regardless, patted out the flames, and shifted so that his wing was sprawled out in the flow of the river. Pause. Blink. Idea. Round: 4/5 Attempt: Not get toasted too bad? Defense: Dragonhide (if successful!) Injuries: @Bone RE: Hearthfire - Bone - May 07 2020
Ferocity wasn't something she often felt. She was, generally, a gentle creature--but beyond that, deep within, she was a fire-breathing dragon.
Challenge flashed in her eyes. "Let's find out!" she cried, competitiveness sparking up in her. She inhaled--and first, a bellow echoed from her, deep and reverberating. It left bass wing-thumps echoing down the Gorge passages as she inhaled a second time. Burn HIM. Not... badly... but- White jaws snapped open, and a flamethrower torrent plumed out toward her brother, reaching, roaring, crackling with heat... Round: 5/5 Attempt: Breathe fire at Svartis Defense: Injuries: @Svartis RE: Hearthfire - Svartis - May 07 2020 His chest swelled equally as deeply, eyes practically glowing as mist poured from between his teeth - and out came a torrent of sleet and freezing fog. It tumbled into the fire, meeting practically halfway between them, before that glow of flame started to inch closer and closer - and he was running out of breath. The wyvern's jaw snapped shut again, and he dropped like a rock to get out of the flamethrower's way in time. All the while, he was whining, Round: 5/5 Attempt: Breathe ice at Bone Defense: Injuries: @Bone RE: Hearthfire - Bone - May 07 2020
Bone dropped back down, belching, shaking herself, then dipping jaws into the cool river-water. Only after she'd again soothed the burns, somewhat, did she turn to peer at her brother.
"Obviously," she said, drily--and then, more solemn: "But we should make sure we're both in practice. We might need our magic sooner, rather than later-... Think we can figure out a way to work together? -Can you freeze stuff into place? I could burn it after, maybe," she added, thoughtfully. If they had to fight the likes of Orthoclase and Vargas together, it would be best to have some form of plan--some method of cooperation. The others almost certainly did. @Svartis RE: Hearthfire - Origin Cave - May 07 2020
RE: Hearthfire - Svartis - May 07 2020 "... both in practice." Nod. "... need our magic sooner, rather than later..." Another nod. Strategy would be their best bet, even if they didn't have the raw, brute strength necessary to overwhelm that orthoclase-beast or this Vargas that kept cropping up in conversation. As for a method of practice... Svartis hummed, gaze trailing towards the distant sound of dragonbats squealing about and fluttering through the shadowy recesses of the Gorge. If they could both hit a small, moving target, surely they could nail a big jerkwad equipped with its own roasting tin. @Bone |
