RE: Astrocartography - Alrik - May 30 2020

Shango deemed Ahlf small, and without thinking the kitten immediately corrected with "I'm Ahlf"-- but wait, wasn't that just like saying "I am" but for someone else? Ahlf had gotten that wrong before, right? Was this Shane Go indecisive as usual? Or was Shane Go just... making an observation? "Small" was the opposite of "big", yes? Ahlf didn't know how they knew that; they just chalked it up to being awesome. What wasn't awesome was how they'd corrected Shane Go when Shane Go might've not actually needed to be corrected again. Hm... well, maybe it was just safe! If it was a problem, Shane Go would use the tone used previously before to denote agitation, like with the crocks (which were still crocks by the way, in Ahlf's mind).

The big crystal was far. Either it was called Far or it was whatever "far" meant. Ahlf felt like "far" meant they'd have to travel to it. So maybe it was named after that? Wait no, was this another observation again?! THIS WAS TOO CONFUSING!!! Ahlf was just going to name the thing what they felt was best and assume Shane Go was making observations now. The crystal was called a crock. They had to travel to it. Ahlf was Ahlf, and Ahlf was small, so Ahlf would climb on Shane Go and they would go. See? Much easier to make snap decisions based on minimal information.

Without a question, Ahlf would do their best at scrambling up the wing and onto Shane Go's back. Once Ahlf had, in a sense, securely (for the most part) "boarded their ship", or perhaps more like "mounted their steed", they mewed loudly, with an attempt at valiance, "We go!

Shango gave a quiet sound, something like acknowledgement or a vague mewl, as the child clambered onto his back. Tail switched once, and he waited, watching over one shoulder, to ensure that Alf was securely seated.

All hands inside the cars, and all that.

His wings then rose back up, perched along his shoulders, and he began the travel to Polaris at a walk--and then, once relatively sure that Alf wasn't about to fall off, he lurched into a smooth, fast, hoof-clicking trot. He had spines to hold onto, at least, and a thick and scalefeathered mane--and wings, even, to provide bumpers so that the kid might not just tumble off the side. But Polaris was a long way.

Maybe Alf would fall asleep, or maybe fall off, but Shango had his single-minded plan: "go to Polaris, show Alf the Spire." Maybe Seshat would be there, too. "Seshat is in that cave. She is a cat, with my colors. But she's all in a stone. A crystal," he explained.

And he wasn't very good at explaining; but maybe a leopard with all but her head encased in amethyst would be interesting for Alf to see. And Seshat, Shango thought, would probably appreciate the company--assuming she was still where he'd left her.

@Alrik

Want to pick up and move to Polaris, or?

RE: Astrocartography - Alrik - Jun 02 2020

They went, and let's just say, Ahlf was a little bit thrilled. Moving and at such a height! They were really going! Where they were going? Big crock! When would they get there? Surely soon! Maybe! Probably not! Ahlf was sure the trip would be fun and exciting to compensate for any extraneous usage of time, though!

As they began to speed up (hurray! But also terrifying! Ahlf was gripping onto Shane Go's spines), Shane Go began to speak of a 'Sesh-at' in the 'cave'. Ahlf assumed Shane Go was talking about the cave with the big crock. Apparently she was... a crock? Was she? But also a cat? Ahlf didn't quite understand. Shane Go had been indecisive like this throughout this entire adventure, Ahlf was very quickly becoming bored of being annoyed about it. She was a cat crock. A Carock. Ahlf could not fathom what that might look like, mainly because of two things: one, what was a cat? and two, what did it mean to be both a cat and a crock? Ahlf guessed they'd have to just see it with their own eyes to understand.

Ahlf looked around at what fragments of the world they could see from their position. Things didn't look too different, not yet. The ground certainly seemed to be moving by at a faster rate than it would've if it had just been Ahlf waddling around on their own four paws. As the trip went on, Ahlf might even become drowsy and droopy-eyed, but the thrill that came from the fear of being knocked off would be enough of an incentive to stay awake and hold on for dear life when it was necessary.
