RE: Redfang Rampage - Comet - Sep 16 2020
Comet wasn't afraid to stand up on the flight over the water. Several times she almost fell off, but she always caught herself at the last second. The flight was rather smooth, and she could tell that the dragon was experienced at this kind of thing. The wind blew through her fur, and she felt-- free. She was no longer stuck on land now! Maybe she could even touch the ceiling... and then Carja landed and the flight was over. Good things weren't meant to last.
Picking up the fish, she jumped down from her back, and shook her fur. Now that the wind from flying was gone, she felt a bit unsteady on the ground. @Game Master Dark RE: Redfang Rampage - Game Master Dark - Sep 16 2020 The seas churned and heaved, waves throwing up spray and fogging the ocean of Fornax from proper sight. Visibility dropped minute by minute, and now the first rumbling roll of thunder CRACK-grumbled through the cave.
The thrown fish was quickly lost to the surf; if something did scent it, or nab it, it wasn't visible. Perhaps further chumming the water would do it; perhaps a greater blood offering was in order... @Carja @Comet RE: Redfang Rampage - Carja - Sep 17 2020

Comet watched as the fish landed in the churning sea without a single splash. It was quickly lost in the waves, leaving her wondering if it had even been noticeable among all huge waves that fell down in loud BOOMs.
Comet watched the glowing cyan blood trickle out of her tongue. That was cool! She didn't know Carja had such cool blood! Her own was just the same irony red. She watched and waited to see if the bait would work, prepared to strike when there was a sign of a Redfang. @Game Master Dark RE: Redfang Rampage - Game Master Dark - Sep 17 2020 The scent of blood--cyan or not--spread quickly in discolored, billowing clouds down into the surging iron gray of Fornax's seas.
Minutes passed... Movement, then--a glimmer of dark scales rising from the dark below. It was difficult to see in the froth, but Carja would have an instant, perhaps, to react. There were three Redfangs: one miniscule hatchling, barely more than a fry; one twelve-pound fish, small but sharp-fanged. Certainly manageable, however, for one such as Carja. These two both swept straight for the bait: Carja's tongue. But the third was half-grown, forty-six pounds--not massive, but it drove for Carja's forelegs with a sharp thrust of its tail. If the dragon-creature did not dodge in time, the bites on her forelegs might hurt, but little more; the tongue, however, could be very badly harmed or even severed... @Carja RE: Redfang Rampage - Carja - Sep 17 2020

There was no way this would end well. A moment everything was calm, and the next everything exploded. The Redfangs swam up from the water, and Carja tried diving and snapping her teeth on one of the fish. The ear splitting shriek made the pup fold back her ear, that sounded painful. Perhaps using your tongue as bait wasn't such a good idea?
Comet scrunched her nose as she smelled blood, but tried to attack the biggest Redfang out of the three. The two smaller ones were in front of the dragon, so Carja could take care of them. Diving headfirst into the water, she tried to tackle the Redfang and stop it from moving. RE: Redfang Rampage - Game Master Dark - Sep 18 2020 Comet leapt into the surf, landing atop the largest Redfang. As a half-grown pup she was probably about the same weight, and the Redfang was all muscle; this wound up as a thrashing, flailing rodeo with wolf riding fish, rather than anything so mundane as man and horse.
Meanwhile, another fin cut the surface: gray, sleek, and... tiny, as a baby Redfang less than an inch long arrowed toward the scent of blood. That made two tiny fry; what to do with them was another question. @Carja @Comet RE: Redfang Rampage - Carja - Sep 18 2020
RE: Redfang Rampage - Comet - Sep 18 2020
Comet felt a brief feeling of victory as she felt her body hit the Redfang straight on the back. She had expected it to be easy, it was just a fish after all. But she had never seen such a muscled fish as this, one that was made to be a predator. Soon it became a crazy ride, with the Redfang constantly trying to buck her off its back, and swimming in random patterns.
Even with her claws digging in to try and not fall off, Comet could already tell she needed to end this quickly, she was already getting tired. Now that she was directly on the fish though, glaciating was not possible. Perhaps she could try steering the fish? Yes, she could try beaching it onto the shore. |
