RE: The Final Farewell [Death] - Comet - Dec 18 2020

Comet only gave a nod at Sun's presence, unable to get out any words, but grateful that he decided to stay.

She suddenly felt incredibly weary, as if she had walked a hundred miles. The corners of her mouth curved into a slight smile at Sun's comment. "I hope so. It's what he deserves." Comet wished that she had been able to do more to honor her father, but she had given all her energy into the song. Settling down on one of the pelts next to Sun, she leaned against his warm body, although there was nothing that could replace the softness of Aristotle's mane.

But she would have to learn to live with a hole in her heart. Perhaps one day it would heal over, but deep wounds never truly disappeared. Raising her head to look through the window, she saw the lights had completely dimmed. "Daddy will always be with us. He will not be forgotten."

RE: The Final Farewell [Death] - Sun-Wukong - Dec 18 2020

The gibbon sat quietly watching his sister all the while, as she gave their father the send off he deserved. He deserved far more for everything he had done, but some time maybe he would be able to pay proper respect to his father. Sun smiled as warmly as he could muster. The song hisister had sung, he wished he had a voice like hers to sing his pains into the airs without any care. He wished he had the ability to do what she did. ”You were wonderful sister. I’m sure he heard you as well.” He offered softly his smile trembling as he tried to keep it, though it didn’t take long for it to completely fail and fade away to that sad grimace.

Sun sighed as Comet settled in next to him, he gently leaned himself against her side, closing his eyes for a moment as he gently stroked her side with his hand.Gently the gibbon rested his head against her and sighed. It was comforting to have her so close. It was good having her here to cuddle again, to have her so close again. Although when he thought about it, as soft as Comet’s fur was, it was nothing compared to the softness of Aristotle’s mane and he would dearly miss falling asleep in it. But still he had his sisters soft warm fur to fall asleep in.

Sun slowly opened his eyes looking out the doorway. He saw that the light had gone almost completely dark. The gibbon sat running his hand through Comet’s fur as he watched out the door, his brilliant green eyes were red and stung from the pain of the day. He wanted badly to close them for longer and sleep, but he didn’t want to go to sleep just yet. He wanted to know that Comet would be alright. ”He will always be with us in a way. There are four chrysalis’ that he gave life to on the top platform. One of them is Abraxas like he had always wanted. They will carry on his life.” Sun spoke softly his voice hoarse and strained from the sadness and crying he had been doing. ”I will raise them to be happy good children.” Sun assured more himself than anything. He wanted them to grow up to be good and brave and smart and themselves.

Comet nodded, "And you're a wonderful brother Sun." The gibbon's familiar smile was comforting in this time, although it was all the more heartbreaking though when it fell away to a sad frown.

She felt Sun's hand stroke her fur, like he always did when they were together. The wolf smiled as she remembered how weirded out she had been when she had first met him and Aristotle. The little gibbon had reached out to touch her fur. "Abraxas." Comet smiled, and not only that, but three other chrysalises! "I'll help you. We can do it together." And at that moment, she made a vow to take care of them and teach them as well as she could. Aristotle had been a father and mentor to her, and now it was her and Sun's turn to pass it on.

But for now, it was late. "Goodnight Sun." Comet dried the last of her tears with her paw. As she closed her eyes to sleep, she could almost swear that she felt the warmth of Aristotle's body next to her.

"Exit Comet to sleep"

A soft weak smile pulled at the edges of the gibbon's lips as Comet paid him a small compliment. It was nice to hear in this hard time. He tried his best to be the brother she deserved to have. Comet was such a wonderful person he wanted to make her proud to call him her brother. He couldn’t help it when his smile faded into the sad frown. Try as he might, happiness was a fleeting thing at the moment. He couldn’t hold onto it hard as he tried. He did so love his sister’s singing voice though, it was a beautiful thing.

Sun let out a soft contented sigh as he leaned against his sister gently petting her soft fluffy fur. He couldn’t help it, she felt so much like Aristotle’s mane it was uncanny. Slowly the Gibbon’s breathing began to even out as he sat petting his sister. A small smile was brought to his face as he thought about how often he would do this when they had been together. Softly the gibbon began to hum a gentle and sweet melody for both himself and Comet. This melody is something Aristotle would have hummed often to him. Sun smiled and partially relieved with having Comet willing to help raise the children. Not that he wouldn’t have done it, but he was lucky to have such a wonderful sister to help him raise their siblings. ”Thank you sister.” Sun couldn’t have been more happy at having Comet to help him.

Sun cast his gaze out at the darkness outside as he picked up humming softly again. Slowly the gibbon slid to lay down on his side using his arm as a pillow his back pressed against Comet’s side. He felt safe like this, having Comet there to watch his back if he needed it. ”Goodnight Comet.” Sun said softly as a wide yawn parted his jaws and his eyes slowly fluttered closed. His entire body relaxed as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
