RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Genevive - May 03 2022 Genvive's traveled for a while, yes. she found that no, staying in pegasus forever might not entirely be a solid life plan, atleast in terms of enrichment. she lives there, yes, and she visits her father, bringing tea from forgraves house if theres extra, but she has indeed been travelling. When both the fox and the cat had returned with some range of gifts, bebby's being new magic and what she called a "dollhouse" and forgraves claiming a curse was lifted from a flask (what kind of curse he forgot to mention in his excitement), so yes, she was here for a gift of her own. she heard its song, and smiled as much as a horse can, it reminded her of the rushing water of her river. she walked forward and, because at heart what could be considered 'unicorns', true unicorns or not, are vain creatures, she leaned down, and whispered for something to make her beautiful. RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Astéri - May 04 2022 Let it be known that Astéri did not like Polaris. RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Karambit - May 04 2022 Fracture my spine
Despite the maddening soft-spoken nature of the stone, the commiseration that wove into its song elicited grateful response from Karambit far outweighing any annoyance caused. The meat monstrosity hovered in place, body vibrating with a barely contained eagerness, and leathery wings whirred fast enough to threaten high-speed winds and produce a sharp, rip-roaring buzz. Its tentacle already gripped the crystal with a strength far greater than a screeching fool ought to possess, but now it tightened further, unconcerned and wholly ignorant to the possible damage such a reaction might accomplish.
If it found the living masterpiece and shared this magic, they'd be able to share everything? Yes! That would be lovely. Only the spray of arterial blood against flesh could have matched the burst of warmth that Karambit sent along the communication line. Words were foregone in favor of a long drawn-out mental shriek, equal amounts giddy and painfully piercing. Fortunate that the Wishing Stone didn't possess ears—but perhaps that mattered little when listening through thought. Inarticulate thanks given, the monster zoomed away. So hasty was its departure that it could have been mistaken for a storm cloud whose lazy drift through caverns and tunnels was inexplicably sped up. No time could be wasted. After all, the future awaited, and it was full of affectionate injury and happy harm. And swear that you're mine
-Exit Karambit RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Edric - May 04 2022 Edric's wish was very simple. Beady red eyes, dripping with iridescent Oil, fixated on the rock with shifting colors. He knew there was something magical and powerful about rocks that looked special. It was a pattern, and Edric considered himself an expert in pattern recognition for realizing that. The Voices at the Altar. The crackling Spire. Now this. The Voices had given him a new form, stone, and purpose in life. What could this rock do for him? He limped up to it, his oily rock-leg hitting the ground with echoing thumps. "I want to be powerful," he grunted at the rock as he pressed his snout (also dripping with Oily mucus) on it. "For beating people up. Animals. Things." He was already an impressive fighter, he thought—he'd absolutely curb-stomped a freaking LION before!!! But he'd lost in the first round of DEATHMATCH. THAT WAS UNACCEPTABLE. He needed to beat things up EVEN BETTER to become the TRUE PARAGON of DESTRUCTION. RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - The Warden - May 04 2022 It was growing into its body, almost standing at full height now, but it still had yet to make a journey this far from Draco. It had dutifully protected the door with the Sentinel for the past couple of cycles, and did some basic training as well, but when the Sentinel had returned to Draco with armor, he had bid his offspring to come here and finally receive its weapon. It was giddy with excitement, not just for the weapon, but to see other caves and, more importantly, the central one. Would it get to watch this 'stone' craft a weapon? Did it have a collection? Would it just appear out of thin air? RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Maximus - May 04 2022
RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Kaprison - May 04 2022 Word had gotten around about somewhat this weird rock that, most importantly, gave you free stuff. Kaprison was always a fan of free stuff, and ambivalent towards weird rocks, so they snuck off to investigate it as soon as they could weasel their way out of carnival duties. Kaprison hummed, tapping a lime green claw against the surface of the wishing stone. 'I want to be able to mess with people AND get away with it.' And then they'd stand back, smirking somewhat at the stone as they waited for whatever it's idea of prank and tomfoolery-causing supplies were. Admittedly, a magic rock wouldn't have the best idea of what a prank WAS- maybe they should've been more specific? RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Forgraves - May 04 2022 OOC note: because rolls hadn't been done before this post, which is after genevives post for day 3 and this is day 4, 2 OOC prize rolls are needed <33 ty! Forgraves had happily informed his family of his flask's newfound usefulness, or atleast, usefulness he can now fully exploit. fascinated by the rock, he returned another day, Bebby once again in tow. he walked to the walk, nodding to it as a form of acknowledgement, before speaking again. RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Bebby - May 04 2022 RE: [Event] The Wishing Stone - Game Master Dark - May 04 2022 what might this be..?
So Genevive wished to dazzle? The Wishing Stone sang almost excitedly, for it touched upon just the thing. There were rare magics seeping through this cave, some of them rare indeed, and one of them was perfect for Genevive's wishes! In an instant, Genevive would feel her eyes lighting up: a new spell settling into her mind, its effects temporarily flaring bright. Her eyes sparkled a bright azure blue, pupils drowned to nothing in the glow of a light that danced and flared there. When it faded, she would remember how to repeat the magic: a gift of knowledge, and of course, of beauty. Genevive receives: Starry Eyed. OOC reward: Josie has won their choice of a Tier Five reward, and may claim a Winner's Choice in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel! The Wishing Stone hummed and flashed for a time at Asteri's visit. The question was a tough one: how could a creature with no hands bear a shield? But the stone seemed to hit on the answer soon enough; after all, these caves were indeed full of magic. And magic--as the stone now whispered into Asteri's mind, imparting the knowledge of this new spell--could serve as a shield just as well. Hopefully, it would serve him well. Asteri receives: Barrier. OOC reward: Fracture has won their choice of a Tier Three reward, and may claim any one of the following for ANY of their characters in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel: High Spell Borrow, 1000 Magicka, Uncommon Character Slot (UCS), Lost Stone (Alien/Valkhound, GM-Designed, Guaranteed Revive), High Intensity Non-Elemental Spell (Sensorial Link, Familiar Forge, Affix Dye, Enchant), or Mutation Slot Edric's request was an interesting one--and difficult; power, the stone seemed to think, comes with time, and practice. But perhaps there was a way to strengthen Edric to make such a path simpler to travel..? A whisper of magicka curled into the boar's body, and the stone urged him away: to find somewhere safe. To sleep. To rest, and return to his stone, and reawaken... changed. Edric receives: A mutation, gaining armored upper hide, enlarged double tusks, circlets of spines above each real hoof, and defensive spines. Click to view concept; this can be changed! Note the image is a stock photo trace, simply for reference. OOC reward: Cicada has won their choice of a Tier One reward, and may claim any of the following for ANY of their characters in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel: Low Spell Borrow, 300 Magicka, Lost Stone (Guaranteed Revive, Earth Animal, GM-Rolled) The Warden's request was at once greeted with a loud and hefty thunk. from somewhere just behind it. Indeed, the stone had not 'crafted' a thing--and the weapon had appeared from thin air, though conveniently, just out of sight. Even at first glance it was clear that this blade was something special: and, in a sense, oddly opposite from that of The Warden's lifegiver. Rather than swathed in smoky shadows, the brassy glaive glowed with a soft, pale light--and the moment it was swung, it would emit blinding flashes in the direction of each swing. It was at once clear how useful this would be: it could leasily blind an enemy mid-combat. And with the blade came the sudden knowledge: It is called, 'Lightning.' The Warden receives: Lightning. (See below for details.) OOC reward: Jaymie has won their choice of a Tier Five reward, and may claim a Winner's Choice in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel! Maximus's request was somewhat more difficult, and they might feel the faint intrusion as the Wishing Stone almost seemed to sift through all that Maximus already was. They had all of the magic to mend others'; they had the power, even, to seek out the beating hearts of strangers. Yet a whisper seemed to come, thoughtful, with the stone--something similar to what Wilder had been told not long before. So many who have come here have already been in need. Seeking friends. Lonely. Sad. Maximus already had the tools to help those, but... Perhaps... this might help. There came a gentle tink just beside Maximus; a little amulet, a purple-gold gemstone very like the Wishing Stone itself, but without its chime or shifting colors. It was set in gold, in a golden chain. Maximus would know, at once, what it was: the stone 'Heart's Desire,' which would glow near those in need, brighter by proximity. But it would never lead the bearer to those they wished to harm; and it would never lead to those who did not wish to be found. But the wounded, the lonely, those who ached for a friend--if Maximus watched, Heart's Desire would show the way. Maximus receives: Heart's Desire. (See below for details.) OOC Reward: Charlie has won their choice of a Tier Five reward, and may claim a Winner's Choice in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel! Kaprison was met with a deep and flourishing sense of mischief. 'AND get away with it?' A soft clink not unlike that which had deposited Maximus's amulet now set down a simple golden ring, one with a few scuffmarks and scratches. It simply appeared by Kaprison's side, the perfect size to fit a fox-imp's finger. With it came a sudden knowledge of the item's magic, and its name: The Ring of the Master Thief. It will hide you, so long as you are quiet--but only once each day. When your mischief swells too greatly, and your escape seems unlikely, the Ring of the Master Thief will hide you! Kaprison receives: Ring of the Master Thief. (See below for details.) OOC Reward: Snail has won their choice of a Tier One reward, and may claim any of the following for ANY of their characters in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel: Low Spell Borrow, 300 Magicka, Lost Stone (Guaranteed Revive, Earth Animal, GM-Rolled) A brighter surge of light and color, a happy chiming, accompanied Forgraves' thanks. And his next request provoked a thoughtful hum; the Stone almost seemed to be... thinking. After a moment, there was a click; and a box, perhaps some eight inches per side, appeared behind Forgraves. It was no ordinary box, however: each side held intricate patterns, carvings, even divots and holes. It was made of pieces of old, tarnished but well-wrought metal and ancient wood, all carefully pieced together with extraordinary craftsmanship. It was a puzzle box, each side a new puzzle; once all six were solved, it would open. Judging by the rattling, something was inside, though it was clear that the true reward was the box itself, its worksmanship and the practice it would provide in solving interesting puzzles. Forgraves receives: Puzzle Box. (Each side can be opened with a Barely+ Successful roll; once fully opened, a GM should be tagged to reveal the box's contents.) OOC Reward: Josie has won their choice of a Tier Two reward, and may claim any one of the following for ANY of their characters in Update Me or Discord's Requests channel: Medium Spell Borrow, 500 Magicka, or Lost Stone (Guaranteed Revive, Hybrid Animal, GM-Rolled) (I was late in GM responding so this is day three and four for Josie!) Bebby's request was greeted with a THUNDROUS clatter all around her: an enormous number of brightly-colored, even gaudy, beaded necklaces, bracelets, clip-on earrings and rings made of polished gem on elastic bands. None of the stones were anything special; none held magic of any kind. But they were so multicolored, so flashy and bright, that they almost outdid Bebby's own rainbow hues. As if in afterthought, there was a final clack as a single, black but very stylish, pair of sunglasses tumbled down atop the pile. Bebby receives: a sick jewelry collection. Spells will be handed out shortly!
