RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Kerberos - Jan 23 2016 There it was! It was coming! Kerberos let out a snarl, his fur bristling as the water rushed at him, his massive body surely a solid wall against the wave-- nevermind that he was top heavy and his hind legs were like twigs, ready to be swept away. The wayward water crashed around him and he held his breath, watching for others-- if anyone slipped, he wanted to catch them.. An elephant slipped, barreling towards him like a boulder-- thankfully she was just a baby. The dog gargled water as he braced himself, grabbing her truck in his teeth and pulling him between his paws. It wasn't a delicate process, but it was better than her getting swept away. He was solid, rooted to the ground, and hopefully if anyone else fell they would end up hitting him instead of washing away. i'm ready to start the conquest of spaces ( i hope its okay for me to say that he can save a few smaller gembounds ) RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Sabor - Jan 23 2016 Before long the mechanism seemed to be working! Opening the door led to a crashing wave of excitement to wash over Sabor. Though a torrent of water quickly took its place. Claws unsheathing he had attempted to grip into the icy floor below. Even to go so far as it lower his head to allow the water to trail up and over his back. He had to keep Tolani safe like last time! Though fate was cruel and luck seemingly ran dry as he lost what little grip he thought was secured. The water easily washing him away from her and the other gembounds as it did with the elephant. The water cruel he barely managed to yell out for Tolani to hold onto the ground below. If she could stay rooted he would simply run back and find her after being swept away. White and golden laced pelt drenched and cold as he would rise to his feet somewhat defeated by the elements. A quick shake and he would run back to the door, searching for Tolani, ready to stand over her again should another wave rush through. RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Diot - Jan 23 2016 He had been cheering the elephant and the adorable hybrid child on, though their efforts had succeeded in opening the door; Diot slightly wished they hadn't. Another torrent of water rushed through and collided with the wall of gembounds. Some were knocked off their feet while others managed to stay put thankfully this included Ghanyarah. It was a lot easier to hold on this time around, balancing himself atop S.S. Water Lizard. Sure his coat had been drenched again but that was easily fixed. As the water subsided he shook quickly, patting the back of Ghanyarah as a silent 'good job'. Only to glance around waiting to see Eve or his father. Had they fallen off!?
@Booker RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Booker - Jan 23 2016 This was really, really not his day. It seemed with every moment more and more gigantic strangers were filling the tunnel with their bulk, and he still deemed "Totum" about as creepy as anything could get, thank you very much. Flattening himself onto Ghanyarah's cold scales, Barnett huffed, staring suspiciously at the multitude of weirdos, thankful, at least, to have his son with him - who seemed much more enthusiastic than his father, in any case. Watching the tamarin cheer the others on with a tiny, proud smile, he settled into place, watching with a gentle stare... or at least it stayed that way until the water came back. "...shit." In an instant, the cold torrent was sweeping up and over his little party, prying his claws from their grip on Ghanyarah's slick skin, and he was tumbling away, gagging on the liquid the crept in his nostrils. Tiny body flipping and twisting under the force of the stream, he watched shapes swirl by, finally clenching his eye shut, dizzy and nauseous, chest constricted. The trip ended just as quickly as it started - his chest caught on something, hard, and as the water drained past, he wheezed, coughing up water, eye blearily blinking open. Unfortunately, it appeared the thing that caught him was a tiger's face. A tiny, squeaking scream crept from his throat. @Sabor RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Tolani - Jan 23 2016 The only warning to the sudden onslaught of water was the fact Sabor had tensed up and lowered his head, ultimately being thrown off balance as the frigid wave slammed into her friend. Faring no better, her claws scrabbled uselessly at the slick floor, being pushed from her spot after a moment and swept away into the current. Tolani's lungs burned, screaming for oxygen and clawing at her throat. Out of instinct, she allowed her jaws to part, the water rushing in suddenly and burning her throat. As the water finally eased, her pelt clung to her frame. Coughing up what water she'd forcibly swallowed, the cub swung her head around, searching for her golden pelted friend. Easily picking him apart from the surrounding cave, confusion rose in her mind at seeing something- no, someone holding onto his face. "Sabor," she started, voice hoarse as she managed to pull herself back to her feet to stand beside her companion. "You got someone on your face." Pausing, the cub turned her attention to the smaller figure, reaching her head up to sniff at the waterlogged figure. "Are you alright, sir?" Tolani finally asked, worry creeping into her voice. They looked terrified! "Speech" @Sabor , @Booker RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Azazel (Original) - Jan 24 2016 Quickly, his doubts may have been put to rest. The plan was in motion, and gears ground against gears in hidden mechanisms. The monolith of a door lowered gradually, stone creating a low, keening noise against the frame. Water surged from the top of the door as it sagged downwards, bringing forth the first surge. By instinct, he flapped his wings and lifted himself into the air, just barely feeling his talons grace the waters as he hovered above them. Carmine eyes searched the flooding waters for anyone that may have had trouble bracing the flood. So far, there wasn't really anyone. But to be safe, he stayed close to the waters in case others went overboard. RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Arkrael - Jan 29 2016
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Game Master Madison - Feb 10 2016 As the collection of Gembounds struggled against the rush of water, Totum watched, even cringed as a few of them got swept up in the wave. Once it had finally died down, though, Totum slowly returned to the ground and began to investigate the door. "If anybody can use... magic of the rocks... or find a way to keep hold the pressure on the siphon... we may be able to hold the door ajar." The shadow explained, looking back to the group as they regained their composure. Such magic was not within their realm, but somebody else, maybe... Twin pairs of eyes lingered on the wolf, before branching out to the others. If they had any better ideas... anything might help. Characters are welcome to use their spell casts to try and find a way to apply constant pressure to the siphon. @Kerberos @Booker @Diot @Cadence @Arkrael @Jack @Eve @Sabor @Azazel RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Diot - Feb 10 2016 Watching the events that unraveled around his father he laughed somewhat to himself. As long as his father was ok everything was well! Having landed on that golden tiger cub seemed to be a safe fate, especially since the small bear greeted him too with kindness. Listening intently to Totum all the while Diot couldn't help but frown. The magic of rocks? He didn't have that...he had nature though...which one could say rocks were nature? Well that was good enough for Diot to try! Reaching down he could feel them hidden deep below the icy floor, though too far for the small plants to sprout their way up. Sitting firmly atop the faithful boat lizard he could only frown at the lack of help he could offer. Turning his attention to his father he watched the gembounds around him expectantly. Waiting on a cue of if and when he should go a 'rescue' Booker.
RE: Quest: Wharrgarbl! P2 - Azazel (Original) - Feb 11 2016 Azazel could not see any other Gembound being swept back by the surging tide of waters, so he found himself a perch atop a stone and gazed at Totum expectantly, awaiting the next surge of crystalline liquid. The Bone King listened carefully, and he gazed at the siphon, pondering. Pressure. He was one of pressure, able to manipulate the air about himself. That was it! Fanning out his tail feathers, the Avian focused upon the siphon and called upon his magicka, hoping for success as he tried to apply pressure to the Siphon. |
