@Nidhogg (visibility) RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Khavur - Aug 15 2020 It seemed another little fellow wished to tag along. One of Khavur's head shifted its gaze towards the crawly one, full of armor and spines and limbs. What a funny creature. They all were, really. And now their little circus parade was going to go hunting! How exciting. What was hunting, exactly? Khavur followed the command of Orthoclase-Alpha, its belly having a little celebration at the prospect of eating, while the colors of its skin when raving mad at the dull yet exhilarating sensation of being alive at last. One face, the large-horned, held a gruff resting expression, as Khavur didn't really want to focus on the muscles in that face. Instead, Khavur's attention was on the small-horned face. It made the face idly hum, just to feel the vibration in its throat, and hear the buzzing, reverent tune bounding around in its skull. The big purple friend asked for designations. Khavur didn't quite understand that the question wasn't meant for it. "Kha-vvvv-ur," it whispered, entirely to itself, with its large-horned head so as not to disturb the humming of the other head. "Long... long nam." And with that, after Orthoclase-Alpha the beast had trailed. - exit to THREAD (when it's made ;3) - @Vargas @Orthoclase-Alpha @V-Zoisite-One (visibility) RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Zoey - Aug 15 2020 Zoisite's underbelly pelt prickled as the adults' eyes settled upon it. For a brief moment, it almost wanted to curl up into a ball and roll away, but... But was that affection? Attention? Not a rebound, like previous attempts to garner a response from the parental figures surrounding it. Pincers clicked with delight as Ortho--... ugh, as Overseer Orthoclase-Alpha (mom, mom!), what a mouthful-- answered with affirmation. Talons clicking on the stone, it scampered after its life-giver eagerly, curious what was in store for it. It was time to learn where rats came from. What could go wrong? zoisite exit! RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - V-Selenite-One - Aug 16 2020 This time, it sat more like an animal, kneecaps out and four arms sandwiched between them. Cyan eyes stared up, widening. Floppy ears stiffened at the word "designations." Despite no response from the other spawn, it launched into a bipedal stance and crowed at the top of its lungs in a poor attempt to out-loud the big purple creature, Pulling itself back onto its feet, the child tried again, bellowing squeakily with every bit of air in its lungs: @Vargas RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Nidhogg - Aug 16 2020
The little serpent squealed and twisted back, the claws raking his face. That was UNPLEASANT, and his first real taste of pain, and so when he scrambled back he turned to face his new Enemy again. RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Vargas - Aug 16 2020 Vargas nodded at those who were leaving, and offered a quiet word of praise for the single child that had said its name loudly enough for him to hear. "VERY good, Selenite!" he cried, warmly, encouragingly. It wasn't a tone that anyone would hear often from the Master, but it was genuine: this showed promise. Chartreuse eyes tracked the brief scuffle, Chaos Two clawing Chaos One off it, Chaos One bolting to the wall (and entirely ignoring the Master). Vargas grunted to Selenite. "Perhaps you can teach your siblings some manners," he told it drily, not expecting it to really understand his humor--and they weren't siblings, really, but that didn't matter. Vargas settled in to watch them. He'd allow sparring, fighting--but anything serious, truly threatening, he'd put a stop to. He didn't want potential future champions losing eyes on their second days, after all. @V-Selenite-One @V-Chaos-Two @V-Labradorite-One @Nidhogg RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Maximus - Aug 16 2020
@Vargas (for visibility) RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - V-Labradorite-One - Aug 20 2020 Labradorite, helped to its feet by the Leviathan, stared up at it with it’s luminescent, spidery stare. It felt comforted, somewhat, if only by the presence of a guardian figure. The closest it had to one, anyways, save for Alpha, who had gone hunting along with two of it’s siblings. Then it’s sibling started saying something and- Oh! It was supposed to be saying something too, wasn’t it? It was a really long word, hard to say, but it could try! “Vee Lab-ah-door-ite One!” It chirped, still staring up at Vargas, it's tail wagging slightly. That was what he'd wanted, right? As distracted as always, Labradorite's attention was quickly drawn elsewhere. It still wanted to play, especially with it's new sibling, the one that resembled itself, but they were high up out of it's reach! It could try though, couldn't it? It trotted over to where Nidhogg was, slowly this time, so it wouldn't trip. It paced the bottom of the wall, still figuring out how exactly it could even get to Nidhogg. Excited little chirps and squeaks escaped it, slowly growing louder and more frequent as it got more frustrated. @Vargas @Nidhogg RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - V-Selenite-One - Aug 31 2020 It liked the sound of that, and tried it for itself, Selenite liked the sound of that too, even if that seemed like a less digestible word (no more so than V-Selenite-One as a whole, but...) It kept that one for itself. In lieu of any further language practice or teaching whatever manners were, the infant hobbled onto all sixes and crept away from the group as a whole. It wanted to find a better rock than the one it'd stolen from the zoisite; maybe one that wouldn't break so easily... ? Selenite narrowed its eyes. No, not that one. Too big for it to hold in a hand. Maybe, it could take this one - and smash food open when the Overseer-parent came back with it... ? No... maybe not - Indecision counted as failure when it came to resourcefulness; it refused to settle for anything less than perfect, for the moment. @Vargas ... ? Maybe? RE: QUESTIONABLE PERFECTION - Nidhogg - Aug 31 2020
Labradorite tried to get up to it, and Nidhogg, king of its little ledge-castle, just hissed down, tail switching like a cat's. It crouched, then turned, scrabbling vertically higher up along the wall--nearly losing its footing once or twice, 'stumbling' and kicking loose bits of rock away--until it had reached a lower ledge. This, it scrambled onto the underside of: it was now hanging upside-down, seemingly with little effort. |
