A First Breath Taken[Hatching]

Adonia eagerly moved to lay under Renny’s wing, as she lay there she watched Abraxas be carted over and Comet move to the other side of Renny all together. Very displeased by this the little cub stood up on wobbly legs. With a snort of effort, the little girl made her way from her spot with her siblings, climbed over Renny’s front legs and walked around to be on the same side as Comet.

The little lioness cub looked up at Comet with a brilliant smile. Adonia walked to nestle herself against Comet’s chest between her front legs. The little lion lay her head on one of Comet’s front legs using it as a pillow. A wide yawn parted the little lioness’ jaws as she wiggled a bit and snuggled in against Comet’s thick fur. As soon as the little girl was comfortable she was completely asleep in her older sister’s legs.

James made sure each and every child was comfortable and asleep before he slept too, lifting his head to bump his nose against every one of them, ears perked forward, eyelids drooping.

He bumped Abraxas with a soft huff, gave Sun a soft lick on the head, offered Comet a gentle nuzzle, Amaryllis a tender whuff of breath on her fur, and Sprig a gentle kiss on her nose. Finally, he held Adonia over to Comet, and peered over his rather massive family with nothing but adoration in his eyes.

He'd protect them. He'd keep them safe.
