Mother licked her head, and Skeena knew that Mother wasn't angry. She was worried - concerned. This was dumb, she knew, but she couldn't, in good conscience, just let a bunch of Gembounds wander off on what could be a suicide mission. Besides, who knew?, this knowledge might help Mother later on, at some point in the future. "Of course, Mother." she agreed, licking the hyena's muzzle.

Then, she returned her attention to the others. The eagle, obviously, was a fool, had never had someone like Mother to teach him. Hadn't he been going on about goodness, and honor, and such things? But Mother reprimanded them before she could, so the hybrid settled for shaking her head, huffing an exasperated breath out of her nose.

She looked back to Mother, offering her a smile in an attempt at reassuring her. "Of course, Mother. Always." Skeena twined herself around Mother's legs like some sort of overgrown cat.

Thothaga flinched as the Collector vanished in a flash of blue light. She groomed her sensitive eyes for a bit until her vision grew back. "Ugh! You could have warned me of the flashy bits!" She called back to Collecter, annoyed, even though he had long since disappeared and probably couldn't hear her.

By the time she regained her vision, the other gembounds had already gathered around Giggle. Thothaga hung in the back, listening to their conversations as she fiddled with the Fate's Throw die with her other palp. She tried to study the runes on its 20 something sides, but now that it was smaller, they were harder to make out. "This stone must not be wrongly-used. It has the chance to rewrite fate itself... for better, or for worse." The Collector's warning rang in her head. She began to feel overwhelmed with this responsibility. I must use this wisely, but when is wisely? She drew her attention to Giggle, who was preaching caution to her daughter about the Collector. She is a wise one, she will know. Thothaga thought. Besides, I want to read the bones too.

Thothaga quietly hung back from the party, waiting for them to disperse. She would catch up with them later, but right now, she wanted to speak to Giggle privately.

Glory looked at the others and was disappointed to know that the hyena did not know where to find the black dog. The others, it seemed, didn't know so much either. Where would they start looking, then? The caves were big, after all. If they split up, they could cover more ground. But then how would they be able to communicate if one of them found something? It was an interesting question indeed.

But, to be honest, Glory was wholly convinced that he would be able to find the black dog alone. Yes, he would be rewarded, probably amazingly, if he came back with the stone all on his own! He had wings, after all, he would be able to fly and see from above. He could do it faster then the others, even with Scorch on his back.

He looked back towards Scorch and nodded. "We'll fly to Polaris." He turned back to the others and spread his wings. "We should start in the main cave. That might be the most likely place for him being. It's a good place to start. I will be off, if you wish to follow me, and I will start the search!"

With a jump and a few flaps of his wings, Glory was airborne and he turned himself so that they were on their way to the tunnel that would lead them out of Canis.
