RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Skeena - Oct 07 2018
Skeena grimaced, flattening her ears. It was obvious mother was upset, but hopefully she would accept her apology and explanation. RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Scorch - Oct 08 2018 Ooh, The Collector. Nice and ominous, very dramatic. Or maybe that was just him. Scorch stared at the black figurine. Had the Collector just created that? Out of thin air? "Did he actually just do that?" he asked to no one in particular. "Is that... but there was nothing there before!" However, no one else seemed to be surprised at this development - or was he just bad at reading people's emotions? Maybe this was just another thing magic could do. After all, he'd once seen a cat light his own spit on fire. Nothing was impossible. Not even suddenly disappearing in a flash of blue light. The Collector had just done that, after all. "Okay!" he said at Glory's suggestion, hopping up onto the eagle's back only to step back down at hearing Skeena's suggestion. "Oh yeah, good idea! We should do that too. Where is it?" Then, he realized that no matter how far the cairn, whatever that meant, was, he'd still probably be quicker if he rode on Glory's back. Oops. "Let's go then!" he suggested, trying to inconspicuously step back onto Glory. @Giggle @Skeena @Glory @Thothaga @Felina RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Glory - Oct 09 2018
Glory followed the others, feeling Scorch stepping onto his back. He bent himself a little bit so that they wouldn't be sliding off, feeling a little ridiculous. But that wasn't what was important now. His mind was whirling with thought. Who was this Collector and why did they want items of power? And how did they have such power to create them themselves? He glanced towards Thothaga. She had an item of great power now - what did it truly do? @Thothaga @Skeena @Giggle @Scorch @Felina RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Giggle - Oct 30 2018 A brief lick to Skeena's head, idle, and the hyena turned to listen. She gave her a little nod. "Wise enough, but be wary," Giggle warned. "You know my warnings that these others can't be trusted." Grim, dry, a hint of her prior twitching and a break of her voice displaying clearly enough the hyena's distress. To the eagle she gave her full attention, and her voice was dour as she replied. "Foolish, stupid," she chittered, as if upset by this. "Of course it matters if someone is evil, as you say. Malicious! They will hurt others and your fool promise might hurt them. Don't make promises, if it matters so much to you. Fool," she added, repeating the word, in afterthought. A grunt, then. "I've known a few that look like that! None well. And I don't know where they are now," she added. She remembered little of the wolves, and the dog, she knew, had been with a fisher named, appropriately, Fisher. But that had been many cycles ago, and she had no idea where they'd gone, or if they were even still alive. "If you go, daughter-... be careful," Giggle said, this directed down toward Skeena in a quieter, more solemn voice. ROLL THE BONES
@Glory @Skeena @Scorch RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Skeena - Nov 04 2018
Mother licked her head, and Skeena knew that Mother wasn't angry. She was worried - concerned. This was dumb, she knew, but she couldn't, in good conscience, just let a bunch of Gembounds wander off on what could be a suicide mission. Besides, who knew?, this knowledge might help Mother later on, at some point in the future. RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Felina - Nov 05 2018 Felina took in the tableaux before her. She observed The Collector. She watched the statue being given to someone in their group. She heard Giggle's opinion...and warning. She saw The Collector vanish. "If I may...I think we should continue. I would suggest keeping our guard up. Be prepared for...well...anything. We all have Majicka within us. If we do this together, we can solve this mystery. For good or for ill, it's the very least we can do." Felina took a deep breath. "I, for one, am ready. There *is* an answer. All I can do is try." The runty bobcat lowered he head in respect: "Thank you, Lady Giggle. The advice you gave us will be helpful. I also assure you that, as your daughter's friends, we'll look after her." @Glory, @Dark, @Scorch, @Skeena, @Giggle, @Thothaga ((OOC: Sorry for the long wait.)) RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Thothaga - Nov 07 2018
Thothaga flinched as the Collector vanished in a flash of blue light. She groomed her sensitive eyes for a bit until her vision grew back. RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Giggle - Nov 09 2018
Giggle listened to the others, features remaining troubled. Her daughter's actions worried her--but Skeena's decisions were her own. She glanced to Felina, too--the reassurances, coming from a feline maw. Bones, but she hated cats. At length she huffed. "Well. ...Good luck, then, all of you. I'll be at my bones, if you need me." The hyena then turned, pacing up the path toward her bone pit proper. The others would go and do as this Collector bid, it would seem--regardless of her warnings. Well, hopefully they bore them in mind, at least; heeded them. Hopefully, beneath his strange cloak, the Collector wasn't a cat. ROLL THE BONES
exit Giggle RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Glory - Nov 15 2018
Glory looked at the others and was disappointed to know that the hyena did not know where to find the black dog. The others, it seemed, didn't know so much either. Where would they start looking, then? The caves were big, after all. If they split up, they could cover more ground. But then how would they be able to communicate if one of them found something? It was an interesting question indeed. @Skeena @Scorch @Felina RE: (Quest) Bone Fishing - Scorch - Nov 19 2018 After listening to Miss Giggle talk, Scorch was a lot less convinced that the Collector was a good guy. Sure, he might be actually good, but what if he was just pretending and they'd just promised to help someone evil? "I think we should listen to Miss Giggle," he said to Glory, shifting his wings anxiously. "If we find out he's bad - well, no matter what we won't hurt anyone, okay? I don't want to hurt anyone and I don't want you to either." He was sure that Glory would listen. Yes, a promise was a promise, but surely if it became clear that the Collector had deceived them they wouldn't have to keep it anymore. Glory was a hero, after all, and heroes didn't hurt people. Besides, the Collector might still be a good guy! If he was then they had no reason to not help him. With that thought firmly in his mind, Scorch dug in with his talons and was lifted into the air on Glory's back. -exit |
