Aerial Ace - Haven - Jul 14 2021

Haven surged from the sea of Leo in a spray of water, her wings beating the air as she took flight, nostrils flaring with every breath. With her water breathing trinket (a necklace around her neck) she could hunt much more efficiently, enabling her to dive deep to find and capture fish before surfacing.

In her claws were clutched several silverlings, each one wiggling to break free despite the claws that dug into their flesh. They were carried to the shore, though instead of being dropped onto the sand, Haven hung onto the cliff face instead.

She grabbed each of them in a hand and used her hind feet to grip the rock, getting to rock biting off all the heads like one would a gummy bear before getting to the rest of the fish. She blended in well with the stone, though her movement might give her away if anyone was looking closely.

RE: Aerial Ace - Khavur - Jul 18 2021

Perhaps Maximus had discounted the value of violence.

Khavur had taken a different path... he had not wanted to go home just yet. West of Ursa, the other way the Sentinel had described, was a place of light and sea. Khavur could now understand the description. If it recalled correctly, Master Vargas had also cited this place as an arena for flight practice. Flight practice...

Brawling with others who could match Khavur's skills, who it didn't have to be afraid of stepping on like little insects, had been more cathartic than the Reaver could have predicted. It felt the briefest surge of anger towards the zoisite and the labradorite for having their weaknesses, but this was quickly diffused. Maximus had not been wrong about that: they could not be made subject to catastrophes that would sooner destroy them than help them grow.

Perhaps Khavur needed both to let others grow after a test and still have the violence it craved. Perhaps Khavur could have its cake and eat it, too. ...Perhaps Khavur just needed to vent and train.

Flight practice...

Suddenly, from the massive body of water that seemed to blanket a good portion of Leo emerged a winged being with fish in its claws! Khavur watched, initially awestruck, before immediately seeing an opportunity. Khavur itself took to the skies, speeding along after the being... although, against the rocks they were difficult to spot. Who had that been? What was that hunting technique?! Khavur was immediately intrigued.

The beast, ill equipped for social endeavors, did not think to call after its target, so now it was just chasing down this random creature in a foreign environment. Unwise.
