Forbidden Friendship - Bones - Aug 01 2015 When Bones was having a bad day, he liked to hunt to try and forget it. Today, he was having a bad day. He wanted to see his friends - he hadn't since he left Canis to explore. He missed Giggle, and he missed Kerberos. As he looked over the two rats he'd already managed to capture, he began wondering if the three-headed dog was around. He knew Kerberos had a stomach like an endless pit; he'd appreciate a rat or two. His mother told him not to - she'd been incredibly disappointed that instead of running Bones decided to befriend the three heads instead. He didn't seem that bad, he seemed like a loyal thing. A good friend. He looked around and gave a brief bark before he picked up the two rats by their tails and sauntered off, looking for his friend. He wasn't hard to miss, after all. @Kerberos RE: Forbidden Friendship - Kerberos - Aug 01 2015 Run boy run! This world is not made for you!
Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you! Kerberos was certainly getting less and less hard to miss by the day. Now easily the size to rival an adult polar bear, the massive mutt was taking a well deserved snooze by the edge of Cetus. Ever since the black cat had violently uprooted him, he took a bit more to staying on this side of the tunnel. For whatever reason, he didn't take the easy way out and just sleep in the tunnel bridging Canis and Orion... but that was likely only because it felt wrong. The place was not for the living. You could move between it, but to linger... No, it was deadly. Dangerous. In ways that no one could see. He was sure of it. Of course, right now, the big fluffball was taking his peaceful nap, the tunnel long forgotten. He didn't hear the pup approach, for although he was dreamless, he slept soundly, snoring out of three big mouths that made quite a racket. RE: Forbidden Friendship - Bones - Aug 01 2015 If there was anyone Bones would hate to abruptly awake, it was Kerberos. He was bigger than he remembered. A lot bigger. The dog carefully placed the two rats in front of the three noses of the demon-dog, backing off to sit down and wait for the dog to catch a wiff of the dead rats. He tried hard to ignore the monstrous snoring of Kerberos - which turned out to be harder than he expected with his stupid-looking, oversized ears. Still, he waited, occasionally giving a very quiet bark in an attempt to encourage the dog to wake up. @Kerberos RE: Forbidden Friendship - Kerberos - Aug 02 2015 Run boy run! Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you! Kerberos awoke to the sweet smell of rats and the gentle, familiar bark of a good friend of his. With three huge yawns, the pup stretched out and snatched up one of the rats lazily. Barely awake, the monster of a fluffball simply chewed on his meal, for once not fighting with himself over it. He would still devour it in a matter of minutes, guaranteed. As he was eating, however, his eyes flicked up to catch the patch of tawny fur that had brought him the tasty tasty rats. It was so much better than lumpy cave fish-- which was just about the only thing he could catch on his own-- that he knew he had to thank Bones for sharing. They hardly knew each other, but it was almost as if the pair were brothers. Sorta. It was something of a force of habit now. It was good manners, and though the pup was a slow learner, he was doing his best to not seem as dangerous as he was. He wanted friends, allies with teeth, and to protect those who were too small and weak to defend themselves. He didn't know why yet, but... It was showing, in his behavior, more and more by the day. RE: Forbidden Friendship - Bones - Aug 02 2015 The dog shook his head. "I'm not hungry," he said, beginning to lick the blood off his singed paws from the hunt. "You're a lot bigger than me, so you'll need to eat more." There was a short pause as the painted dog tilted his head. How much was Kerberos supposed to eat? He'd seen strange creatures - deers. They were much bigger than the rats here. "You shouldn't be hungry all the time," he mentioned, tongue gliding over the bloodied edge of his mouth. He found himself getting up to pad next to the three-headed dog, sitting down on his haunches next to him. He leaned down, giving the closest head (which happened to be the floppy one) a few licks on the top of his head. Not that he didn't think of all the heads as his friends, of course. He just couldn't reach them all, and he didn't feel like moving again. "How are you?" RE: Forbidden Friendship - Kerberos - Aug 02 2015 Run boy run! This world is not made for you!
Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you! Floppy ears considered Bones' answer, tilting his head to the side. The farther head snatched up the second bone, muzzle beginning to match the crimson shade of his nose as he put a paw over the kill and began to shred it apart. The head didn't fret too much. He gave his friend a lick back on his chest and nuzzled into Bones' soft underbelly. The painted dog was one of the only things around here that wasn't dusty as all hell. It was nice. RE: Forbidden Friendship - Bones - Aug 02 2015 "V... veh-..." stammered the pup before he shook his head a little. "It's okay. I think calling you Kerberos is easier." He moved his foot out the way for the head to nuzzle his gut - he could be able to feel despite the fluff the dog was rather thin. He looked over the middle-head with a tilt of his head. "You don't gotta make it complicated for yourselves," the dog said in a much softer voice. He felt a little sorry for Kerberos now, so he decided to try take the hellhound's mind off it. "You wanna do something fun?" @Kerberos RE: Forbidden Friendship - Kerberos - Aug 02 2015 Run boy run! This world is not made for you!
Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you! As if the painted dog had flipped a switch, the dog hopped to his paws, tail wagging wildly. RE: Forbidden Friendship - Bones - Aug 03 2015 Bones nodded, considering. Hide and seek wouldn't work, he thought. To an extent, it was true. He'd likely be able to see Kerberos a mile away. Briefly, the dog lowered his neck to lick his legs, finding that cleaning himself helped him think. "We could play chase!" he offered, head lifting up and tail thrashing back and forth as he spoke."Have you ever played chase before?" He wasn't sure how fast Kerberos was, but he knew that he was very fast, and loved running. It'd be fun if Kerberos could keep up. @Kerberos RE: Forbidden Friendship - Kerberos - Aug 03 2015 Run boy run! This world is not made for you!
Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you! Chase? Kerberos tilted all three of his heads as his brains chugged through the meaning of such a game. What would they chase?... Each other? That sounded like quite the game! But Kerberos didn't want to get out of hand and hurt Bones-- who, now that he was standing, he could see wasn't growing anywhere near as fast as him. Was the painted dog always going to be so tiny? |
