Pretend It's Fine - Louie - Aug 02 2015

So close. He was getting so close to having his incubated disaster up to what it needed to be. Perfection was so hard to attain in his line of work but he had to say he was getting pretty damn close. The effectiveness of it varied, he had been experimenting on mostly small lesser gembounds and he had yet to actually test it out on a sentient being. Though he wouldn't get a proper chance to until he could poison everyone he wished unless something was to change. Louie wouldn't seek out potential victims as that was too suspicious. Even prey that was being hunted eventually became aware of what was going on, what was going to happen to them, so he couldn't afford to be picked out and named in a line-up.

Ascending the stairs towards the Tower, he often considered potentially moving his "family" here. It was the perfect set-up and everyone would be able to fit. Particularly it was popular among travelers so if needed he could ensnare many potential "tourists" into coming here. That would have to be discussed with Diamondfang, but he definitely loved the decor of the roof as well. So shiny. Within the darkened room of the tower precipice he inched towards the middle before seating himself. All he wanted to do was examine it, test to see if it would survive his attempts at curing it. Next he would need to find a body of water, or bring a body of water to the bile.

Tongue clicking, he narrowed his eyes and focused. Throat throbbing from both the magic that was illuminating his gemstone to the sensation of getting himself to vomit, he focused on the thing that was burrowed deep within his gut...

... All it did was burn the back of his throat as it couldn't make it up his esophagus. Infuriated, he snarled and bent to bite hard on his tail. The feeling of pain distracting him from his bitter disappoint as chunks of fur were removed. Fucking hell. Pissed off, he paced back and forwards up in the tower cursing under his breath and despising his very existence as all he was was a pitiful failure.

In his outburst, he had time to analyze the situation. So he hadn't perfected his work just yet? Wasn't a big deal, he still had plenty of time before he would be forced to show the others. Louie struggled to not play the failure over in his head as it would be through his failures that he would be unable to poison the group who were becoming an increased threat to his throne atop of Origin caves. Pausing, he drew a deep breath to try and relax himself. This was fine. It was all fine right?

Spinning on his heels, he drew in a breath again, but he wasn't focusing on Incubate right now. There were plenty of other new tricks he had acquired and one of them would hopefully be able to steel his nerves. Exhaling the withheld breath, he focused on the many bacteria within the room. Specifically, the rotting carcass wedged into one of the crevices. No matter who put it there it was perfect for his little trial as he put all his attention on the microbes already feasting away on the flesh...

...Alas, his spell didn't extend out to the microbes on the carcass and instead, the many organisms on his back and he cursed and cried out as he felt them feast away on his skin causing the space under his gemstone on his neck to become red and raw with a bacterial rash. Holy shit this was getting tedious and he debated even continuing with his training. Annoyed, frustrated and glum, he sat down and spat on the floor. "This is a waste of fucking time you failure."
