James rooted around in the underbrush of one of Pegasus's many forests, nibbling on grass, his tail swishing as he went. Occasionally a bee would buzz past, all different colors, but he paid them no mind. He didn't notice the hive he passed under, high above in a tree.
He bit down on something hard and snorted in surprise, ears flicking forward as he spat the hard object out. He snuffled at it softly, blinking slowly as he studied the tiny object. A gemstone.

The stallion looked up, realizing where the stone had come from. A bumblebug that had passed away and been pushed out of the nest before turning to oil. He looked back down at the teeny tiny gemstone, huffing softly.
Poor thing.
The next time he put his head down, next to the stone to start grazing again, a spark of his magic goes rogue, filling the gemstone and spooking the poor stallion. He bolts before he can see what even happened, running through the trees and away, afraid that he was being attacked.
A chrysalis started to form as life grew into the space of the gemstone, the beginning of a new life.
