Welcome to Thread & Info List for the Order vs Chaos event series! Information on the event itself follows; a list of ongoing and completed threads can be found in the next post.

Story. The forces of Order in Origin Cave are gathering in an attempt to push back the power of Chaos and to establish a stronger foothold, weakening the nest. The event will be a series of threads themed on this war: training, battles, skirmishes and misdirections, as well as threads for neutral characters to establish safe haven from the combat.

Participation. Anyone, regardless of alignment, may participate. Order (Drones, Hosts, and aligned allies) and Chaos (Corrupted, Chaos Forge and allies) characters will receive special magicka bonuses in marked Event threads. Neutral characters may choose to align with them for plot purposes, but won't receive those plot bonuses. However, Neutral characters will have extra threads and an additional reward that will not be available to Order/Chaos characters. Observers and other Gembounds can otherwise be involved however they like; this event series is open to all.

Scoring. All Barely Successful+ rolls made by Order characters or Chaos characters (Corrupted, Chaos Forge and allies) will be added to the tally. For individual caves, a battle's score may sway the balance of power in that cave temporarily toward Chaos or Order. The effects of this will reveal themselves as events unfold. The total score is mostly for fun, but will also accrue additional rewards at event's end.

Cave Alignments will shift toward promoting Chaos or Order depending on the results of these battles.

Character deaths won't be forced, but will be rewarded: characters who die may choose to have their stones revived by their NPC leadership as new characters. First choice for playing these will go to the original characters' owners. Stones can however be stolen or destroyed by other characters, with player permission!

Magicka Bonuses. For rolls within ORDER VS CHAOS event threads, Order/Chaos characters may claim additional magicka. These claims should only be made after thread completion.

Order characters may claim Hivemind: +10 magicka for completed thread claims for each Host/Drone present in the thread (so 6 Hosts/Drones present means each* can claim +50 magicka in total for the other 5).

Corrupted characters (or members of the Chaos Forge group) may claim Chaotic Rampage: Critical Fail and Critical Success roll bonus magicka from any Corruption/Chaos-aligned character may be claimed by all Corrupted/Forge characters present in the thread.*

* Please note that all Magicka rewards, including these bonuses, can only be claimed once per player, as is usual in group threads (though all characters count toward the bonuses). Simply add the additional magicka amounts to your usual thread claim amount when claiming in Magicka Market.
