Chaos and Constants - Goose - Feb 18 2023 It acts natural, as if it has always been here. As if it belongs here, and perhaps it does. Chaos is in its nature, after all. What are cats, if not the natural enemies of order? This particular cat is small, infinitely so when compared to the creatures of the Chaos Forge. But it does not seem afraid. Instead, it walks around confidently on tiny kitten legs with complete and utter certainty that this is where it should be. White fluffy fur is all the brighter on the scrawny little kitten in the light of Draco. Pale lavender eyes regard the world. There is no visible stone, but it must have one somewhere, since it is the shape of no existing lesser. Meet Goose. RE: Chaos and Constants - V-Jasper - Feb 18 2023
Not too far away, V-Jasper was originally minding their own business. They might have been hunting, especially given the topic and answer that sprang to their unique minds.
The other blinked, and tilted its head. The two-headed beest tucked in its stubby forelimbs, shaking out their pelt with a flicking of oil from their mane. They slunk forward, both sniffing curiously at the strange, white kitten that had appeared rather suddenly inside Draco's home. How had it gotten past the Sentinel? One head turned back to look at the Aperture, which was conveniently missing its guard at the moment. Still, the creature was small, and presumably not much of a thread. @Goose RE: Chaos and Constants - Goose - Feb 18 2023 Despite being a tiny creature that was being approached by a much larger beest, the kitten was not afraid. Truthfully, it most likely lacked the braincells required to feel fear. That being the case, it did not run. Instead, it briefly paused its wanderings as the beest got closer. And then the little kitten actually stepped closer, sniffing the two-headed oil beest right back. What are you? One of the heads had asked. And there was a simply enough answer, "Goose." After all, Goose was who and what it was in its entirety. But shortly after speaking, its gaze narrowed, as it had recognized the movements of an entity about to pounce. It had given this being its grand title, and it was being repaid like this? Goose did not feel fear. But Goose felt rage, and plenty of that. And so, it whacked one of the heads across the face with its sharp little claws, hissing all the while. @V-Jasper RE: Chaos and Constants - V-Jasper - Feb 18 2023
The kitten approached, sniffing. One head continued to sniff, but the other tilted even further to one side, considering the answer.
Goose, however, wasn't a designation or a gemstone, as far as the Jaspers could figure. So not one of the Forge, unless this little thing had earned a name-- Swipe. Before the Jaspers could share their designation, the kitten's claws lashed out. With a cry of pain, the snout that had been scratched recoiled in agony. The other head jerked, and spitting, snarled. The Jasper they shared sparked to life, its birthright of the Forge's chaotic magic surging violently. It didn't lash out in return, however, as the magic attacked the white cells that were intended to defend the injury from infection. Pain flared as the wound trickled blood, and it tucked its nose down, pawing at the burning sensation with its small forelimbs. @Goose RE: Chaos and Constants - Goose - Feb 23 2023 The kitten kept up its hissing as the uninjured head spoke. This being dared to speak as if Goose did not know their intentions! It was tempted to give the remaining head a whack too for good measure. But, this being did have potential as a minion, Goose could admit, if only the being understood where it had erred. So, finally, Goose stopped its hisses. Instead, to demonstrate the error, the cat slowly wiggled its behind back in forth, staring down the entity before it. Then it stopped, and the little kitten gave a surprisingly vicious growl for such a tiny creature. It was a warning. Then, because a warning was not nearly enough, it threateningly raised its paw, a deliberate action to show that it would not hesitate to scratch if the other attacked. But Goose itself did not attack again. Yet. @V-Jasper RE: Chaos and Constants - V-Jasper - Feb 27 2023
Jasper-One continued to recoil, eyes closing tight as their nose flared with a sickly heat of infection. It stung. Tears pricked at the corner of their eyes, saltine stinging as they weakly pawed at the blood that seeped from the wound.
The uninjured head continued to stare down Goose, teeth bared as their longer limbs pawed at the earth with impatience. Why didn't the Goose use its words? It knew how to speak, it knew its name, and yet-- The game of charades did not clarify anything. From Jasper-Two's perspective, the kitten threatened to pounce on them, snarling and raising a paw for a second strike. Now that they were intentionally drawing on their magic, rather than a chaotic splurge of magic that violently reacted, the magic that came flowing from them worked exactly how they envisioned. The dim lighting of Draco surrounding Jasper turned into darkness, their form blurring into a shadow that loomed over Goose like a giant monster. At least, that's how Two envisioned it, their violet markings flashing in the shifting shadows; reducing them to nothing but a giant shape with hundred of shimmering eyes. (This was a bit of an exaggeration, but Two did a good job of bringing a swath of darkness over the general area, hiding their injured head behind the more forward, threatening head. And Two's stare was as intense as a baby's stare could be.) @Goose RE: Chaos and Constants - Goose - Mar 02 2023 'Or else'... Once again, Goose had been threatened, and that could not stand. This being had even used its grand title that Goose had deemed them worthy of. If it was possible, Goose would have ended this being for such a slight. And then this being suggested they would hurt Goose? Perhaps another creature that felt fear might have been intimidated by the visual display of shadows. But Goose was Goose. Fear was not in its vocabulary. Though it was darker, the other was still visible with said glowing eyes intentionally left revealed. For intimidation purposes? Goose did not care why, but it left them with a clear target. So the kitten leaped and swatted out at the uninjured head of the beest. @V-Jasper RE: Chaos and Constants - V-Jasper - Mar 07 2023
It was an unfortunate series of misunderstandings. A warning taken as a threat on both sides, thrice over. But Jasper-Two did not think for a second that the cat would strike after being warned so explicitly, and yet! And yet!
The cat's claws swiped right down between Jasper-Two's eyes: a glancing blow, but enough to draw blood. The violet blood trickled down their snout as they held fast, protectively looming over their second (Jasper-One!) head. Anger burned behind the bright, glowing eyes. They channeled that rage, a sweltering heat burning through their body as-- as... The blood trickled over their nose, and as they breathed it in, reaction kicked in. Magic flared. Jasper-Two suddenly sneezed, splattering fuchsia blood filled with infectious disease forth. But Jasper-Two shook their head, blood flicking about, and they stomped their foot on the ground. Teeth bared, they snarled. @Goose feel free to decide what happens with that spell lmao |
